Security exercises for ethical hacking
Paučo, Daniel ; Lieskovan, Tomáš (referee) ; Martinásek, Zdeněk (advisor)
This master thesis deals with penetration testing and ethical hacking. Regarding to the layout of the thesis there was prepared appropiate enviroment to realize Red/Blue team exercise, where Red team is in a role of the attacker and Blue team is in a role of defender of the network infrastructure. Whole infrastructure is implemented in a cloud virtual enviroment of VMware vSphere. Second part of the thesis consists of preparation and creation of the exercise to test web application security. Third part of the thesis is dedicating to the automatization of redteaming. Main focus of this master thesis is to demonstrate different attack vectors how to attack the network infrastructure and web applications and use of the defense mechanisms to avoid this kinds of attacks.
Attack Techniques on ELF/PE Files and Detection
Brunai, Adam ; Jurnečka, Peter (referee) ; Barabas, Maroš (advisor)
This thesis deals with the attack techniques on executable files in Windows OS. Its main goal is to analyze the file infection techniques in terms of their implementation and detection. Before the analysis, the reader will become familiar with executable files. Part of the thesis is demonstration tool named "pein" that solves implementation of infection. In conclusion, the work deals with the malware analysis and detection techniques.
Energy audit
Miesler, Zdeněk ; Blasinski, Petr (referee) ; Horák, Petr (advisor)
My diploma thesis is focused on processing of an energy audit of an apartment buil-ding in accordance with the Decree 480/2012 Coll. as amended. In the theoretical part I deal with the revitalization of residential and prefabricated houses both in classical ways and with modern technologies. In the practical part is processed analysis of ener-gy consumption of the apartment building in Kyjov in the initial state. In the last part is the energy audit of the apartment building, where are suggested precautions and then proposed the option for implementation.
Procedural City
Dolejška, Daniel ; Chlubna, Tomáš (referee) ; Milet, Tomáš (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to implement configurable tool (program), which will be able to build a model of a city. The program uses OpenGL library and principles of procedural generation for model creation. The generation process itself has a number of customizable variables, which have direct impact on the visuals of the models, their complexity and size. Created models can be exported and further modified in almost any 3D graphics software.
Reasons for low Linux adoption on desktop PCs
Alternatives to solutions of low energy and passive family houses
Pospíšilová, Pavla ; Aigel, Petr (referee) ; Výskala, Miloslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on material and technical alternatives of the building envelope and heating of low energy houses and passive houses. The theoretical part is focused on main principles of designing low-energy building standards. The practical part is aimed to the best economic and technical solution of new buildings in low energy and passive standard on a particular case. At the end of thesis the evaluation of the best design options is performed.
Heating of apartment buildings
Diatel, Jakub ; Horká, Lucie (referee) ; Počinková, Marcela (advisor)
The topic of this diploma thesis is heating of apartment buildings, where an attention was focused on thermal comfort in heated rooms. The first theoretical part brings results of CFD simulations which compare radiators with floor heating. The second part consits of practical application o the given building. There are two options in this project - heating by radiators or floor heating. The third part describes two experiments - measurement of indoor environment in two rooms and measurement of gas consumption in apartment buildings with different heating concepts. In the last part the mean radiant temperature is simulated. There are compared different kind of heating, which have impact to distribution of mean radiant temperature in the room. The personal software was created for deeper understanding of mean radiant temperature.
Ansible for Windows
Klíč, Jiří ; Očenášek, Pavel (referee) ; Trchalík, Roman (advisor)
The main purpose of this bachelor thesis is dealing with possibilities of automation of the computer management and acquisition of data about computers. This thesis focuses on automation of Windows-based computers managed by Linux operating system. The automation is performed by text user interface. It presents to the reader the used tool named Ansible and its components and usages. Here are discussed both methods of collecting of required data and their meaning and interpretation. Some data which are collected in this work are static, the rest of them use to change their values by time. There are also discussed possibilities how to manage the software equipment of the computer.
Automated Security Compliance Scanning of MS Windows Operating System Using OpenSCAP Project
Černý, Jan ; Barabas, Maroš (referee) ; Smrčka, Aleš (advisor)
This work deals with security compliance of computer systems, namely operating systems, applications and system services. Concept of security policies, their evaluation and their enforcement is described. Security compliance automation and the SCAP standard are presented. OpenSCAP project, which is used as an SCAP scanner, is described together with its tools and its usage. An idea to add support of Microsoft Windows within OpenSCAP, which was previously unsupported, is presented. The core part of the thesis is to identify necessary changes of OpenSCAP and to design an extension of this project. All these modifications are implemented. The solution is demonstrated on security policies for Windows. The solution is evaluated and further improvements are discussed.
Security of Online Client-Server Applications
Čapek, Jan ; Malinka, Kamil (referee) ; Orság, Filip (advisor)
This thesis is dedicated to security of client-server applications running on Windows platform. In the beginning chapters it is possible to find motivation, about why this type of security is important. Following content describes some elements of used architecture and elements of operating system Windows. The core of the work contains techniques and tools used by the attacker and protection against them. In following chapter there is a design and implementation of the security solution based on the previous theory. This solution is then tested against various threats, to verify its effectivity.
