This thesis deals with Education of Roma children in the Czech Republic. It sums up basic facts relating to arrival of Roma in Europe and in the Czech Republic, deals with societal reactions to this arrival and relations progress between Roma and major society. The attention is focused on a existing conception of Roma education, determinants of Roma children education, social exclusion of their families, possible risks of troubleshooting behaviour, affirmative approaches including establishing preliminary studies and positions for education assistants, The practical part is focused on education assistants.
The specifics of education of the elderly and the importance of memory training

The bachelor thesis concentrates on specifics of senior citizens' education and introduces memory training of seniors as an effective tool for retaining memory functions in the older age. This thesis defines terms such as aging, age and senior citizen. Furthermore it presents a brief demographic characteristic of the aging population and describes changes that people go through during getting old. In connection to these changes the thesis describes a concept of successful aging followed by a part describing education of seniors and memory training. The final part of the bachelor thesis is about using questionnaire metod in order to find out the utilization of knowledge from the course in everyday life and to find out how satisfied the participants were with the course.
Importance of education in the life stories of shoah survivors

The following thesis seeks to identify the importance of education for the witnesses of the Shoah. It outlines the form of education in Czechoslovakia in the years 1918-1948 and focuses on the education of the Jewish minority. The research includes the analysis of narrative interviews with Jewish survivors who lived through the Second World War. Through the study of literature and analysis of qualitative data shows the role played by education in the pre-war, wartime and post-war. The work points out that education was important for the Jewish minority always and its role has varied depending on the period. Key words: Jewish minority, education, Czechoslovakia 1918-1948
University education for teachers of children and pupils with a hearing handicap in the Czech Republic - a description of current state

(in English): Bachelor thesis entitled "Tercial education for teachers of children and pupils with a hearing handicap in the Czech Republic - a description of current state" will focus on teaching courses dealing with the education of persons with a hearing handicap. The work deals mainly with special-pedagogical disciplines whose graduates pursue with the education of individuals with a hearing handicap. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The first part contains a summary of the history of education for people with a hearing handicap, defines terms that occur at work, for example surdopedy or medical and socio-cultural approach to the problem of deafness. There is also a list of Czech legislation relating to education of persons with a hearing handicap. The practical part is further divided into two sections. In the first one, the information from curriculums and syllabi of relevant courses is summarized. Based on the analysis of syllabi, the form, the way and the content of teaching selected fields at specific universities is indicated. In the second section the results of the electronic questionnaire responses of surveyed fields are analyzed. PhDr. Naděžda Pelcová, CSc. ABSTRACT: This bachelor's thesis is focused on ideas of upbringing and toleration in John Locke's and John Amos Comenius writings. The aim of the thesis is to present main thoughts of both authors using the analysis of origin sources. The thesis tries to present John Locke's and John Amos Comenius opinions within the broad historical context which indicates their basic concentration and influential historical background. At the end of the thesis, there is a comparison between John Locke and John Amos Comenius which puts the emphasis on their distinctions and similarities. The final comparison concentrates its attention especially on the different extent of John Locke's and John Amos Comenius thoughts. The possibilities of implementation of school social work to the elementary schools in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of implementation of school social work to the elementary schools in the Czech Republic. In the introduction, the thesis focuses on general inside of issues of school social work and the role of school social worker is characterized here. It also focuses on possible problems with implementation of school social work. In the next part, the diploma thesis deals with the practice of school social work in foreign countries and also with the current state of school counseling in the Czech Republic. Diploma thesis also focuses on legislative system and it suggests the possible future form of school social work in the Czech Republic. The conclusion outlines the proposal of specialized education program for school social workers in the Czech Republic.
