Cognitive deficits in children with visual impairment and the possibilities oftheir early diagnosis

The dissertation entitled Cognitive deficits in children with visual impairment and the possibilities of their early diagnosis responds to the need for a tool for the early detection of visual impairment at the level of the visual apparatus in children with cognitive deficits for special pedagogues. The aim of the thesis is to design and verify the reliability and usability of a tool for the early detection of visual disorders at the level of the visual apparatus, which could be used by special pedagogues. Based on them, identify children with an indication for a complete ocular and orthoptic examination. The partial goals are to determine the coincidence of visual impairment with cognitive deficit, to compare the reliability of individual stereotests and to evaluate the practical use of the tool for special pedagogues. The theoretical starting points are current findings on the issue of cognitive processes and their deficits, the visual analyzer and its defects at all levels, with an emphasis on defects at the level of the visual apparatus and the relationship of cognitive deficits to visual disorder in childhood. Intervention approaches for pupils in primary school with specific learning disabilities

The thesis deals with the definition of intervention provided to pupils with specific learning disabilities in primary school. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the most frequent specific learning disabilities, the characteristics of the younger school age and intervention approaches in primary schools for pupils with specific learning disabilities. The last chapter of the thesis is also the research part, focusing on gathering information regarding intervention for pupils with specific learning needs, their progress within the educational process and information sharing among teachers in the selected primary school. Use the Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment at special educators in South Bohemia region

The thesis deals with the use of Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment by school special educators working in the South Bohemia region. The aim of the thesis is to find out how the Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment is used by the addressed special educators. The research was carried out by qualitative research through semi-structured interviews. The interviews were conducted with five special educators working in the South Bohemia region who are trained in the Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment. The results of the research are divided into three parts. The first part focuses on the motivation for training, the second part focuses on the use of the Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment by the interviewed special educators in practice, and the third and final part describes their perspective on the process of training in this method. The results of the research show that the Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment finds its use among the special educators interviewed when working with pupils with different types of special educational needs, who make noticeable progress after its application. The research may serve to motivate other special educators to be trained in this method.
Cooperation of a kindergarten teacher with other experts

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the specifics of cooperation between a kindergarten teacher and other pedagogical staff or experts. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to find out how both parties perceive their cooperation, what factors may influence their cooperation, either substantially or slightly, and what are the identified positives and negatives of their cooperation. The theoretical part deals with the knowledge about the profession of the kindergarten teacher and about other pedagogical staff and professionals who can collaborate with him/her. It outlines the competences, job description and main requirements for all these positions. The empirical part presents the collaboration between the kindergarten teacher and other pedagogical staff or professionals through qualitative research. The interviews point out the experiences of kindergarten teachers and other pedagogical staff or professionals in collaborating with each other, as well as how this collaboration is perceived by both parties.
Transformation process of residential facitilities for people with mental disability

The topic of bachelor thesis is transformation of residential facilities for people with disabilities. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part describes historical development of social services, especially in The Czech Republic. Furthermore, the mental disability is defined and classified. Also, this part of the bachelor thesis deals with history of special education and integrative and inclusive education. Finally, there are chapters dealing with transformation of residential facilities within social services and legislative provisions which are connected with the process of transformation. The main focus is on Qualitative Standards within social services which are included in Annex II to Regulation (No. 505/2006 Coll.), implementing regulation to Social Services Act (No. 108/2006 Coll.) The aim of the empirical part is to find out whether the healthcare in residential facilities for people with mental disabilities is adequate and how the healthcare has changed since the transformation. Next goal is to determine how the education of employees and clients of these services has changed and what role special education teachers used to have and what role they have nowadays. Data collection was performed using semi-structured interviews and observation.
Role of a Special educator Dealing with Behavioral Problems in Working with Clients of the Educational Care Centre

The diploma thesis deals with the role of a special education teacher - etopedist at an Educational Care Centre. Based on literary research in the theoretical part and research in the practical part, thesis wants to point out the irreplaceability of this role in a preventive educational center, which with its activities has a positive effect on clients with risky and problematic behavior or with behavioral disorders. The focus of the etopedist's work is cooperation with the client's family and strengthening their competences in education. The theoretical part describes the activity of the Educational Care Center, its clientele with negative behavioral manifestations and the professional competence of the etopedist as an employee of the Educational Care Center. The work specifies several types of negative manifestations of behavior and their causes. The research based on the set goal and research questions, analyzes the role of the ethopaedist in a Center by processing the data that was gained by the implementation of two phases of the own research. The first phase was an analysis of the center's internal documentation, the second phase ascertains the perspective of the etopedist on the center's issues and the perception of his own role in the Center by a semi-structured interview, which is analyzed...

This diploma thesis deals with special pedagogue role in system of treating with prisoners at the department custody and department of imprisonment. It also describes all the activities and programs, which are prepared by special pedagogue for accused and convinced. There is described the work of special pedagogue in Remand Prison Praha-Pankrác. The research was based on observations, case reports and interviews.
Role individual education plans in education process in elementary school pupils with defect learning

The bachelor work is aimed at the essence of individually educational plans in pupils with specific defects in learning. The first chapter of the theoretical part is aimed at the specification and the division of specific defects in learning. In the second chapter I occupy with the possibilities of the support and education of the pupils suffering specific defects in learning as well as the creation and contents of individually educational plans. The last chapter of the theoretical part is aimed at the legislative framework of the education of pupils with above-mentioned defects. In the practical part of my bachelor work I take heed of a pupil in a primary school who suffers from this specific defect. This part contains casuistic of a pupil, his family and personal anamnesis and individually educational plan. The pupil's activities in the range of ten months are described here. At the end I assess his progress in the above-mentioned areas. The objective of my bachelor work is to find out to what extend can individually educational plans enforce within the educational process and how can a pupil develop within the selected areas under the regular activities according to the individually educational plan.
