Communication between parents and children in blended families
Matoušková, Kateřina ; Šulová, Lenka (advisor) ; Gillernová, Ilona (referee)
Children in stepfamilies accept, for the most part, both their fathers - their noncustodial biological father and their stepfather - as part of the family, even when the children are representing the ideal family as they imagine it. Important factors in children's level of acceptance of their stepfathers include children's perception of a warm relationship between them and their stepfather, and between them and their mother, as well as a positive emotional climate in the family overall. Stepfathers are accepted by children if they impose a lower level of parental control over them. Children are also more likely to accept their stepfathers the longer the time has elapsed since the divorce of their biological parents, and the longer they have lived with their stepfather. Children wish to have closer relationships with their non-custodial biological. They would also prefer if stepfathers exercised less authority over their families. Children often express a wish for the relationships among the significant adults in the family to be free of conflict. As expressed by one of the children: "I am not happy that dad has moved away, but if my parents have decided that it should be so, then at least I want everyone to get along."

Matoušková, Kateřina ; Štěpáník, Zbyšek (advisor) ; Otáhal, Stanislav (referee)
Influence of Respiration on Cerebrospinal Fluid Dynamics Objectives Clarify the basic biomechanical connection between respiration and pressure changes CSF i.e. changes in intracranial pressure (ICP), in karniospinální area respectively. concretely demonstrate respiration influence on the course of ICP curve. methods Used The work was processed on a selected group of individuals in the form of an experimental study. Measurement It was applied to patients under anesthesia and without anesthesia. Pressure signals were scanned using sensors Codman hospital. Were measured waveforms ICP, central venous (CVP), arterial (SAP) and respiratory pressure (RP). Data were analyzed by these methods - filter analysis, spectral analysis and calculating correlations. Results and conclusions Effect on respiration waveforms ICP and CVP was successfully demonstrated by using the above methods. Keywords CSF, cerebrospinal fluid biomechanics, CSF dynamics respiration. Step-father acceptance and life in the stepfamily as seen by step-children and step-fathers
Matoušková, Kateřina ; Šulová, Lenka (referee) ; Mertin, Václav (referee)
This paper focuses on stepfamilies, stepfatherhood and maps out stepfathers' and stepchildren's experiences in stepfamilies. The aim of the paper is threefold: a) uncover whether children in stepfamilies see their stepfathers as members of the closest family (acceptance); b) map parental styles in stepfamilies and find out whether parental styles and other factors are related to stepfather acceptance; c) Create a qualitative map of the lived experiences of children and stepfathers in stepfamilies, including their joys and frustrations. Based on the research conducted, the paper claims that children in stepfamilies accept, for the most part, their residential stepfather as part of the closest family. This is the case even when children represent their ideal family, the family they would dream of. Important factors in children's level of acceptance of their stepfathers include children's perception of a warm relationship on the side of the stepfather, as well as on the side of their mother, and a positive emotional climate in the family overall. Stepfathers are more likely to be accepted by children if the child's relationship with both residential parents is perceived by the child as loving or warm. Warm relationships with the stepfather only is also a contributing factor, as well as stepfathers...
Biodiversity of green roofs
Matoušková, Kateřina ; Sedláček, Ondřej (advisor) ; Šípek, Petr (referee)
Green roofs offer interesting multifunctinaly solutions to many problems at once. In a small area they bring benefits to people and nature. They thermally insulate buildings, improve the local microclimate and reduce the city's heat island efect. Green roofs improve air quality and also help retain water in the landscape. In combination with solar panels and retention tanks, green roofs can contribute to the modern trend of building green - sustainable - buildings. Green roofs can be used for growing food sources and for relaxation as well. Wild plants can spontaneously colonize green roofs and thereby expand their habitats in cities. The plants create habitats for many animals (especially invertebrates) and provide nectar sources to pollinators. Except food habitats, they offer birds habitat for nesting and resting place during their migration. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the contribution of green roofs to urban biodiversity. At present, howewer, most scientific studies deal with the advantges of green roofs in connection with enviromental protection or the technical side. A small part of the studies examines the biodiversity of green roofs. My goal was to find out which factors influence a biodiversity of green roofs the most and to design an ideal roofs solution with the greatest...

Assessment of the impact of phenytoin on motor activity development of laboratory rats by motor activity testing and swimming analysis
Matoušková, Kateřina ; Mareš, Pavel (advisor) ; Valeš, Karel (referee)
Phenytoin is well-known antiepileptic drug with high anticonvulsant effect but also with proven side effects on motor activities associated with its long-term use. This thesis summarizes side effects of phenytoin on motor skills and coordination of rats after acute phenytoin treatment. Theoretical part includes proven effects of phenytoin on human and animal model. Knowledge about motor skills development of rats and comparison with human motor skills development is also included in the thesis. Apart from locomotion development, swimming development is also described. We compared three groups of rats in the experiment. Each group consisted of ten rats. We compared group with dosage 60 mg/kg, 30 mg/kg, control group and vehicle group. Each group was tested before application for control. We tested animals on postnatal day 12, 18 and 25. Effects of phenytoin were evaluated by motor skills testing and swimming analyses. The results of this thesis have proved impaired motor skills and coordination after phenytoin treatment of 12 and 25 days old rats.
