Evaluation criteria of industrial heritage - practical application
Zelik, Radovan ; Hrabec, Josef (referee) ; Králová, Eva (referee) ; Staňková, Eva (referee) ; Zemánková, Helena (advisor)
The protection of monuments in Slovakia is mostly concentrated on „classical“ examples of cultural heritage (castles, historical city centers). It is not paying much attention to industrial buildings, which are important documents of national development in European context from the era of industrialization. These buildings are often also on the edge of public interest, due to their brownfield character, what places then into the great risk. Because many of these buildings are in private hands, it is often complicated to define the protection policy. It is in the interest of healthy development of society to protect cultural heritage as part of its own identity. The thesis is monitoring approaches to protection of monuments in Slovakia, as well as in global context and offers alternative approaches in terms of protection of industrial heritage.
Historical brewery - potential for regional development
Mosler, Štěpán ; Boháč, Ivo (referee) ; Králová, Eva (referee) ; Zemánková, Helena (advisor)
Nowadays there are hundreds of breweries scattered throughout Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia, waiting for their new future. They are either abandoned or in private property. In the worst case they have been deteriorating with no hope of recovery. There are not many left. It is very difficult to find a new function and especially enlightened investor. Important thing is how we will treat with these structures in the future. Will we use this unique potential, or leave this place for a new function? Which way we can choose? What is the potential of these buildings and what they need? This thesis attempts to briefly describe and demonstrate the value of brewery architecture which due to dramatic changes in society became endangered. And to offer possible solutions for the preservation this unique buildings their charm and atmosphere for the next generations.
Modeling the frequency of unreported claims at the policy level
Králová, Eva ; Mazurová, Lucie (advisor) ; Hendrych, Radek (referee)
In this thesis we study policy-level models for unreported claim counts. We assume that the total number of claims on a policy follows a Poisson or negative binomial dis- tribution. The parameters of these distributions depend on the risk exposure introduced in the thesis, we also describe possible methods of calculating the risk exposure. We derive distributions for the number of reported and unreported claims, both of which are dependent on the report lag time of a claim. To estimate the parameters of these distributions, we use the maximum likelihood method. We demonstrate the performance of the models via a simulation study. 1
Analysis of Russian subtitles for the fairy tail Three Wishes for Cinderella
Králová, Eliška ; Rosová, Anna (advisor) ; Klimeš, Lukáš (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to present the specificities related to audio-visual translation, namely the subtitling of fairy tales, the specificities that manifest both in relation to the target audience and to the national tradition associated with a certain fairy tale. Their manifestations are then examined in a comparative analysis, in which it is evaluated how successfully the translation transferred sections strongly stipulated in the cultural context of the source culture into the target language. The thesis consists of two parts: theoretical and analytical. In the theoretical part, the thesis focuses on the specificities of subtitling, the subtitling community and the specific issues that a translator should address in relation to subtitles intended for a child audience. The theoretical part also focuses on translation strategies used in subtitle production, with particular attention paid to Henrik Gottlieb's model, whose classification is then used in subtitle evaluation. Finally, this section is devoted to the problem of translating fairy tales, which have their own tradition and diction in each country. The analytical (practical) part is focused on the analysis of Russian subtitles for the Czech film adaptation of the story of Cinderella, specifically the fairy tale Three Wishes for...
Crossroods of europian socio-economic classifications: Evaluation of new europian socio-economic classification ESeC in Czech Republic
Králová, Eva ; Tuček, Milan (advisor) ; Kuchař, Pavel (referee)
This diploma presents a Czech part of international research that deals with the new European socio-economic classification, ESeC. It has been organized under the auspices of Eurostat, contributing to the effort to harmonize the measuring of socio-economic structure. My paper is focused on the description of the main principles from which the categorization is constructed and on one of the methods of its content validity evaluation in Czech society. This evaluation presents the question of whether criteria being used by this categorization respond well to criteria being used by people when evaluating their own and others' socio-economic status. Specifically, I will first describe two main theoretic approaches to studying socioeconomic inequalities and the consequent socio-economic categorizations that inspired the construction of the ESeC. In addition to this, I will describe the evolution of several statusforming criteria in Czech society. The analytic part of my paper brings a basic exploration of ideas concerning which aspects of work Czechs consider important and explores to what extent different ESeC criteria influence individuals' evaluation of their own status in society. Finally, I will present a case study that analyzes the subjective categorizations of respondents and the respondents'...
The options for family members of dying person to engage in nursing care at intensive care unit
Králová, Eliška ; Línková, Šárka (advisor) ; Zýková, Ivana (referee)
v AJ This diploma thesis deals with possibilities that would improve the involvement of the dying's family members in nursing care in the intensive care unit. The aim of the thesis was to acquaint with the issue of family involvement in nursing care in the environment of intensive care through the theoretical part, where the following chapters are reflected in the problem. Crucial for the diploma thesis is quantitative research, which used a questionnaire survey focused on non-medical health professionals in an intensive care environment, to find out the experience, skills and knowledge of respondents with the involvement of the family in nursing care for the dying. The result is the discovery of factors that limit the family's involvement in care. Furthermore, finding out ways in which the medical staff work with the family, which proved to be a major problem. The research finds the solution in greater activity of the medical staff regarding offering opportunities to the family to be involved in care. The research also provided suitable nursing activities for the involvement of family members, such as inducing an intimate relationship (touching, stroking, holding hands), reading, playing music, narration, caring for the skin (lubricating, massaging), feeding and giving fluids. Activities were...
