Progress in online technology has greatly improved the way how people all over the world can communicate with each other. Social networks greatly facilitate live communication not only for ordinary people but also for representatives of the legislative power. With the help of social media, politicians can promote their political campaign, advertise their party and, thanks to this, quickly and economically gain supporters. The 2016 US presidential elections highlighted the importance of social media communication on democratic elections worldwide. The aim of the thesis is to study different forms of social media. The project deals with the impact of Twitter and Facebook in the 2016 USA election and describes the way candidates were using it during the race.
Science Fiction and the Prediction of Technology, Past and Present

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to examine if science fiction can predict future technologies. The first chapter introduces science fiction writers of the 19th and 20th centuries, who predicted a variety of technological inventions, that can be found in the present. The second chapter deals with science fiction cinematography, outlined and supported by examples taken from science fiction films and television series. The last chapter is based on diverse technological inventions of the present, which are described and demonstrated by the directors of science fiction movies and which are considered as the most likely examples that can be implemented in the near future. The conclusion describes the outcomes of the conducted studies and defines possible development in the future.
The Use of 3D Printers in Medicine

The text deals with the rapid development of three-dimensional printers, description of their general components, and the utilization of 3D printers in medicine. In our contemporary world, three-dimensional printers have appeared more recently and immediately were applied in various fields and industries. 3D printing is an innovative and forward-looking technology that will unimaginably change people’s lives and will reduce an enormous amount of time and resources, that is spent on creating certain products. The opportunity of using such technology in different areas, particularly in medicine are described in this bachelor thesis, as well as the differences between individual technologies and their advantages and disadvantages.
The Technology of Subtitles in Films and other Media

The purpose of the bachelor’s thesis is to explore subtitling technology. This is analysed from a historical, present, and future perspective. The research also mentions specific ways of using subtitles for certain types of media and it also includes an analysis of the target groups for which the subtitles are intended. In addition to theoretical research of subtitling technology, an experiment is conducted to assess the accuracy of subtitling between machine-generated subtitles, professional work, and amateur work. This is achieved by comparing subtitles from the same film scenes side by side in tables. The result of the research, which is derived from the criteria mentioned in the work, shows that professional subtitles are the most reliable way.
Communications Technology and the New Horizons Mission to Pluto

The aim of this work is to show what communications technology is used in the New Horizons mission to Pluto, provide a brief description of mission’s objectives and emphasize the ability to transmit signals over long distances. This work also deals with the description and the importance of scientific equipment in the spacecraft, followed by information about data transmission and the navigation system of the planetary probe. The relevance and effectiveness of using the Ka frequency band and more modern technologies are also mentioned.
Survey of UAVs (Drones) in the field of electronic communications

This bachelor thesis focuses on the survey of unmanned aerial vehicles, often referred as drones, and its impact and technological progress in the field of electronic communications. It explains a basic definition of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and presents some examples of current types of vehicles. Moreover, this thesis analyzes the cultural and social appearance of using UAVs in everyday life. Furthermore, it discusses future steps in the field of UAVs and its stable position in life.
Space Missions to Mercury

The aim of this thesis is to get acquainted with the past and present space missions to planet Mercury, in particular, former NASA´s Messenger mission and a present joint mission of ESA and JAXA, BepiColombo. The thesis outlines their objectives and science results; moreover, it focuses on scientific technology of the missions, including comprehensive instrumental payload description and a survey of the construction design of each spacecraft.
Negative impacts of the Internet on human society and communication

At present, it is possible to speak of the Internet as one of the most significant inventions of humanity. The Internet is not only a worldwide system of integrated computer networks where a huge amount of various information is stored. It is a whole virtual world. The Internet is used almost in all spheres of human activities – home (Smart Home usage), communication, education, transportation system, etc. With the emergence of the Internet human life became easier. Carrying a huge amount of advantages, this invention, however, also possesses certain disadvantages that affect human life. The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to examine the main negative impacts of the Internet on human society and communication. This thesis discusses the Internet phenomena that affect society in the most negative way. Also, the thesis analyses the Internet as a communication channel. It deals with the influence of the Internet on the language system, and with the impact of impunity on communication. The information was gathered by studying literature and conducting the research in the fields connected with the topic of this thesis.

This bachelor thesis deals with the concept of cybercrime. It begins with a description of the historical development of cybercrime and computer technology relating thereto. Then it continues with giving reasons for cybercrime and describes cybercrime from a more practical point of view while analysing various cyber threats and attackers, including illustrative examples. The theoretical part concludes with a chapter concerning the prevention and detection of cyber threats. The purpose of the practical part is to demonstrate the impact of a simple Denial of Service attack.
Negative impact of Smart Cities on human society

The concept of Smart cities is predicted to be a future model of human dwelling. The main task of this work is to determine the role of Smart City’s key components in order to estimate whether a smart technology always brings comfort and encompasses the area where people feel safe. In my bachelor thesis, I am going to present the concept of Smart City, by analysing and considering different definitions. In addition, it was important to include the chapter dedicated to the history of the term in order to trace its appearance and understand the reasons for the concept invention. Later in the thesis, I add key components and factors that influence the scientific perception of this term, in order to understand the concept Smart Cities and the way of its negative influence. The description of the main disadvantages of the Smart City realisation is presented in last two chapters of my work, where I provide the detailed description of the existing problems, representative examples, and reasons for their occurrence.
