The methodology of creating a business plan

The aim of the thesis is to propose a methodology of creating a business plan using the principles and methods of strategic management and marketing, to analyze market conditions in selected sector and draft the business plan based on obtained informations. Major part of the work is devoted to the study of theoretical knowledge of the business plan issue where are clarified the concepts of business, business plan and its structure. Individual data are obtained from technical literature and Internet sources. The practical part is focused on writing a business plan itself. It focuses on the areas of methodology of formation of a business plan, market analysis and business plan draft.

Implementation of Lean Six Sigma in Catering

The aim of the thesis is to suggest recommendation to optimize and increase efficiency in a process of catering ordering in a company Express Deli by using methods of lean six sigma. The work is built as real project od lean six sigma using some methods of the methodology lean six sigma. In the theoretical part of the thesis, methods of lean six sigma used in the practical part, are described. These methods are mainly methods of process mapping. Each chapter is a step of DMAIC methodology. Core part of the thesis is process mapping at a customer side, so in the other part there are all recommendations directly focused on customers requirements. The results of the work are suggested proposals for process improvement. Some of them were implemented during the project.

The history of television audience research methodology in Czechoslovakia and in the Czech Republic

Diploma thesis "The history of television audience research methodology in Czechoslovakia and in the Czech Republic" deals with measurement methodology of TV ratings with focus on the recapitulation of the whole process of data acquisition. In the first part of the work, the author approaches theories about audience measurement and social use of television. The following part already concentrates on the development of the audience measurement methodology from the diary method to electronic measurement. The diary method measurement is divided into three periods: measurement before 1970, surveys in 1970 - 76, measurement after 1976. As for electronic measurement author deals with measurement methodology and development of new technologies. The work is enclosed by the brief summary of the audience measurement methods in other selected countries.

Memes and the Theory of Universal Darwinism

The article deals with the philosophical presuppositions and groundwork of the memetics. The central question is an analysis of Universal Darwinism as a common and universal evolutional principle or pattern that always springs in every environment when there're fulfilled required conditions. An evolutional process could be possibly described like an algorithmic process that faces to the rise of organized orderliness. Darwinism in this generally universal sense points to a distinctness survival of any kind self replicated code of information that has some influence over its probability of replication. The article stresses methodological importance of memetics as it makes possible to introspect variety of cultural development from a simple unification perspective.

Implementation methodology of open source ERP in SME

This paper deals with the implementation of open source ERP systems in the area of small and medium-sized enterprises. The main objective of this work is to define an open source ERP implementation methodology, suitable for small and medium enterprises. This objec-tive is fulfilled partially by defining of manifesto, as way of thinking about this area and analysis of current state of available implementation methodologies. Newly described met-hodology is then verified by a case study. The main contribution of this work is the defini-tion of implementation methodology for open source ERP systems in area of SME focusing on frequently occurring insufficiencies and leading to successful deployment of company IS.

Design of methodology of administration and management of issues and its application in chosen organisation

This thesis is focused on design methodology of administration and management of issues, using issue-tracking system. The objective is to create such methodology and deploy it to specific organization. During methodology creation, there were used best practices, acquired from source thesis and authors experiences. In theoretical part of thesis are described approaches, witch is this thesis based on. Then thesis describes what issue-tracking system is and lists mostly used issue-tracking systems. In practical part, the methodology itself is created. At first, target group is described. Then, types of issuse and roles used in issue-tracking system are described. Then is described, how to create lifecycle of issue and how to handle with its attributes. Last part is focused on data reporting from issue-tracking system. Last chapter of practical part describes how to implement methodology to issue-tracking system JIRA.

Web accessibility of major Czech universities

This Bachelor thesis deals with web accessibility issues. Its aim is to analyze web pages of major Czech universities and evaluate the accessibility level they provide to their users. The WCAG 2.0 methodology served as a basis for this evaluation process, because it specifies the most current requirements for accessible websites. The purpose of the theoretical part of the thesis is to acquaint the reader with the web accessibility issues. It contains a definition of accessibility itself and also talks about disabled Internet users, for which the compliance of web accessibility standards is crucial. The theoretical part also outlines the legislative regulation of accessibility in the Czech Republic and presents the accessible web development methodologies. The practical part of the thesis contains the accessibility analysis, a description of the evaluated websites and the final test results summary. The main contribution of this thesis is an objective assessment of the condition, in which the web pages of Czech universities are in terms of accessibility. This assessment can serve as a clue for removing any deficiencies that occur on the tested websites.

Towards the Methodological Foundation of Social Capital Theory. How (not) to Measure it in the Czech Republic.

The field of social capital still lacks a recognized general theory. Accordingly, various and sometimes inappropriate measurements are used for it. The present monograph contributes to filling in this gap and provides progress towards the creation of a formalized social capital theory. Starting with the basic concepts of social capital of Bourdieu [1983] and Coleman [1988] we derive a general definition of social capital. Social capital is a property of relationships among individuals that are a resource actors can use and benefit from. Because neither Bourdieu's nor Coleman's concepts are appropriate as a general social capital theory the more current concepts of Putnam [2000], Burt [1992] and Lin [2001] are contested for this purpose. The discussions show that we can distinguish between cultural social capital (generalized trust, norms of reciprocity) and structural social capital (networks) and that we should focus on one of the two. Thus, we focus the latter but we take into account that cultural social capital is a preconditions as well as an outcome of structural social capital. SCRUM methodology and its uses in the innovation process of the company

Diploma thesis deals with SCRUM methodology and its uses in innovation management. The main objective of the thesis is creation of a specific framework which will enable to use SCRUM methodology in the innovation process. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part presents theoretical framework important for the main research. This part contains literature review and research dedicated to the SCRUM methodology and innovation process. The second part of the thesis deals with mapping of the SCRUM methodology to Hladik's innovation process. This part also contains own design of the innovation management process. The third part of the thesis is dedicated to the case study. The case study uses described innovation management process for verification of the hypothesis saying that is possible to use SCRUM methodology in the innovation process. The author's contribution lies in creation of a framework which provides agile alternative to the classical innovation management models.

Design of a methodology for BI solutions in QlikView environment

This master thesis is devoted to a design for methodology of BI projects in QlikView. The main aim is to propose a recommended procedure solutions reflecting the strengths and weaknesses in the development of QlikView applications. Accompanying chapter to the discussed issue is a chapter Business Intelligence which explains the principles, characteristics and reasons for implementation in companies. Part of defining the differences between traditional and self-service solutions serves as a theoretical basis for understanding the increasing attractiveness of self-service solutions and environment of the proposed methodology. The next chapter presents the company Qlik as a market leader in BI and the owner of QlikView. The reasons for its establishment, subsequent development and actual vision are listed to create a comprehensive view of the environment where the described product was created. Along with the chapter focusing on characteristics and main advantages of QlikView a knowledge base is established for the implementation of proposed methodology. Crucial chapter of this thesis is based on the author's experience gained while implementing QlikView projects. The proposed methodology is based on the description of each phase, its activities, inputs and outputs and its concrete application in a demo environment for the area of receivables in manufacturing company. The key contribution of the author is pointing out potential problems during development or warning about critical parts or providing appropriate recommendations and benefits of the proposed procedures. The designed methodology can serve as a useful guide for self-service projects implemented the QlikView environment.
