Motivace odsouzených ke studiu na SOU

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of motivation for the study of convicted men enrolled in the Secondary Vocational School in the execution of imprisonment. The aim of the theoretical part is to describe the education in the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, to specify the educational structure of the present prison population, to characterize the way of education in the prison system with an emphasis on secondary vocational education. Part of this section is a description of the definition of motivation, its breakdown, the needs of convicted persons and their assimilation in conditions of imprisonment, the distribution of motivation factors for convicted prisoners and the specification of the motivation of convicts in penitentiary care with reference to the theory of motivation, defining the means to motivate the training of prisoners. The main objective of the practical part is to find out how convictions are motivated to study the Secondary Vocational School at the Kuřim School Education Center. For the purposes of fulfilling the objectives of the practical part, semi-structured in-depth interviews were carried out, followed by their analysis through open coding followed by thematic analysis. Respondents from the reconnaissance investigation were convicted of being assigned to a two-year training course in Dining, at the Secondary Vocational School. Based on the findings and conclusions of the survey, recommendations for the pedagogical practice of teachers of the Secondary Vocational School were built in the prison environment. The role and position of the journalistic profession in the perspective of journalism students

This master's diploma thesis examines journalism students' attitudes towards the journalism profession and their perceptions of the field of journalism. The thesis develops its main theme on several levels. Important perspective represents students' thinking about the ethical aspects of journalism, as well as their motivation - not only to study the field of journalism but also to pursue it in practice in the sense of employment or career. This thesis explores these themes via qualitative analysis of semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions with undergraduate journalism students from three Czech universities. Specifically, students from Charles University in Prague, Masaryk University in Brno, and Palacký University in Olomouc. The work includes not only the perspectives of students who have encountered the field in academic terms but also those, who have direct experience with it in practice, i.e. from the newsrooms of various Czech media. Research began to focus on the perspectives of journalism students in the late 20th century. Since then, there has been a lot of research on this topic all over the world. But this approach has not yet been reflected a greater extent in professional academic works in the Czech Republic. Therefore, it is important to raise these questions....
Motivation of students and university graduates to study secondary vocational schools

This diploma thesis deals with the motivation of university graduates and students to study at a secondary vocational school and their use of selected fields in work and personal life. In the thesis, I pay attention to the origin of factors influencing the choice of education, such as their family, the usability of gained knowledge at work and in everyday life, and supplementing practical skills in their field of work. The theoretical chapter introduces the reader to the theoretical background on which the research and its outputs are based, namely the theory of sociology of professions, the process of professionalization, the theory of social constructivism, and the phenomenon of a crisis of 'office' work causing a transition to manual work. The theoretical basis is supplemented by the historical development and the current situation in education in the Czech Republic. As a method of answering the research questions was chosen an analysis of semi-structured qualitative interviews, which were supported by an analysis of quantitative data collected through questionnaires. Roma college Graduates : Success factors

This diploma thesis deals with factors which influenced successful Roma college graduates. It tries to reveal what are the reasons why these Roma people managed to defy statistics and get a college diploma. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part it acquaints readers with professional literature and with its resources. Particular chapters pursue factors which have a direct connection with Roma education - Roma family, which strongly determines children's value system, Roma traditions and customs, Roma language, basic legislation and famous Roma personalities. The practical part, using a questionnaire, tries to determine the most important factors which influenced Roma college graduates during their lives. The goal of the research is to find out whether and to what extent particular factors interfered with academically successful Roma people's decision making. From the research part, it is apparent that the two main factors were positive motivation from their parents and a vision of a higher salary.
Factors influencing the selection of geography as a field of study

This bachelor thesis focuses on investigating factors, which impact students' decision to choose Geography as their field of further study. These factors are researched from the point of view of the relationship to Geography in their family or school environment. The research was conducted through a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, answers were acquired through controlled dialogue in focus groups as well as through questionnaire surveys. The surveys were filled out by 105 students of Geography while 13 current and former students of the field participated in the focus groups. Equal Opportunities for Education - in the Tertiary Education (Universities)

Education plays an increasingly important role in achieving success in life and the social ladder, because every individual should have the same opportunity to study regardless of their origin, social characteristics, educational family history or other ascriptive factors. This thesis deals with an access to higher education for those who come from low-income families or families where a higher education has no family history. It describes and analyzes the current access to tertiary education in the Czech Republic in the context of the equalization of opportunities of students from families with no tradition of higher education or lower socio- economic status. The theoretical part presents information about the issue of access to higher education. It explains the concepts which are often mentioned in this thesis, describes the historical development of the right to education and the path to the right of equal access to tertiary education in a modern society. The following describes the sociological theories on educational inequality and they are applied to the specific factors influencing equity of access to tertiary education.
