Tato diplomová práce se zabývá motivací absolventů a studentů vysokých škol ke studiu středního odborného učiliště a jejich využitím vybraných oborů v pracovním a osobním životě. Věnuji v ní pozornost původu faktorů ovlivňujících volbu vzdělání, jako je rodina, využitelnost v zaměstnání a v běžném životě a doplnění praktických znalostí z daného oboru. V teoretické části je čtenáři představeno teoretické pozadí, kterým je výzkum a jeho výstupy podložen, konkrétně teorií sociologie profesí, procesem profesionalizace, teorií sociálního konstruktivismu a fenoménu krize ‚kancelářské' práce přechodu k práci manuální. Teoretický základ je doplněn o historický vývoj a současnou situaci ve vzdělávání v České republice. Metodou zodpovězení výzkumných otázek byla zvolena primárně analýza polo- strukturovaných kvalitativních rozhovorů, které byly podpořeny analýzou kvantitativních dat sebraných skrze dotazníky. Jako výzkumný vzorek byli určeni studenti či absolventi ve stáří minimálně 18, jenž dokončili střední odborného učiliště před maximálně 10 lety. Na základě analýzy dat by měla práce dojít ke zjištění, jaké jsou pro cílovou skupinu hlavní a vedlejší motivace ke studiu společensky níže hodnoceného typu vzdělávací instituce. This diploma thesis deals with the motivation of university graduates and students to study at a secondary vocational school and their use of selected fields in work and personal life. In the thesis, I pay attention to the origin of factors influencing the choice of education, such as their family, the usability of gained knowledge at work and in everyday life, and supplementing practical skills in their field of work. The theoretical chapter introduces the reader to the theoretical background on which the research and its outputs are based, namely the theory of sociology of professions, the process of professionalization, the theory of social constructivism, and the phenomenon of a crisis of 'office' work causing a transition to manual work. The theoretical basis is supplemented by the historical development and the current situation in education in the Czech Republic. As a method of answering the research questions was chosen an analysis of semi-structured qualitative interviews, which were supported by an analysis of quantitative data collected through questionnaires. The research sample was identified as students or graduates at the age of at least 18, who completed the secondary vocational school a maximum of 10 years ago.
