Program of Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking (RWCT) in the approach to teaching beginning teachers in the primary school

This thesis aims to reflect the stage of professionalteachers start first grade of primary school. It deals with pedagogical activities and responsibilities of primary school teachers and professional support you as a teacher stating clearly set out to professional qualities of a teacher or profilig on a new teacher education program teacher training in it. One of them is an innovative program Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking (RWCT). The aim of my thesis is the finding of such problems facing today's beginning teachers, helps them to overcome what level of involvement in RWCT own approach to teaching, the influence of the quality of knowledge of the principles and methods of the program RWCT in conception of educationon, on job and The professionalization of teacher. Teacher's self-reflection as part of his/her pedagogical competencies

This diploma thesis deals with self-reflection of a teacher as one of his key pedagogical competencies. The theoretical part is dedicated to defining a teacher as a reflective teacher. In this part, the significance of a self-reflection in a teacher's work and its influence on his consequential pedagogical activities is emphasised. This thesis describes various methods of self-reflection that teachers can use when self-reflecting. Selfreflection of teacher's work can be an incentive towards improving his further work and contribute to professional growth of a teacher and his lifelong learning. The practical part of this thesis is focused on frequency of self-reflection, its timing, use of self-reflective methods and consequent use of information found.
School Improvement: Supporting School-Based Teacher Professional Development

The dissertation explores teacher professional development as a strategy for improving school performance. The theoretical part defines school quality, teacher quality, and instruction quality. It further talks about teacher professional development, specifically strategies that involve teacher's reflective practices and teacher collaboration. The practical part of the dissertation examines the characteristics and impact of a five year support model of school based teacher professional development. The process was closely observed through case studies of four subjects in a particular school. The findings reveal that the implemented model contributed to the changes in the principal's leadership style, school culture and climate the most. These discussions are linked with evaluation of quality of teachers, their way of teaching, and also with their approach to pupils and parents. The importance of teaching can be seen in two levels: firstly, the focus is on giving the knowledge, and secondly the focus is on personal development of the pupil, his/her competencies, and personal skills and respect. In this work I will describe various styles of teaching, personal prerequisites and further competencies, as necessary qualities a teacher should have. I will present five basic teaching styles with focus on their positives and risks. In analytical part, I will look up competitions rewarding good teachers and will describe criteria based on which selected teachers are rewarded. By the form of questionnaire, the practical part will try to identify what type of teacher of 1st level Primary school is preferred by the parents / legal representatives, and what type of personal and professional qualities they appreciate the most. The feedback is based on four surveys, namely I Know My Class, My Student Survey, 7C, and YouthTruth. We also present the advantages and disadvantages of this kind of a feedback. The summary of available information about surveys dealing with students' feedback for teachers and the analyses of those surveys belong among the main points of the theoretical part. The aim of the empirical part is to compare the key categories among the surveys and to generalise the basic educational themes and issues the surveys are dealing with. Another goal is to examine, whether the content of the surveys is similar and can be compared to our educational reality. We will analyse this through the comparison of the surveys' key categories and the proposed Czech and German teacher standards.
