Scheithauerová, Lenka ; Marádová, Eva (advisor) ; Kovaříková, Miroslava (referee) ; Šulová, Lenka (referee)
The research yielded in the field fails to explain how reproductive health education has been implemented in primary schools during the 1990s, and how it fulfilled the initial expectations with which it was introduced, from the perspective of its participants. The objective of the presented dissertation is to propose further potential steps towards the advancement of this domain and to identify topics suitable for further research in the field of reproductive health education on the basis of a survey of available sources, current research and presented research. The project examines the issue through the perspective of respondents from two countries: the Czech Republic and Spain. These two European nations implemented reproductive health education during the same period, yet with distinct approaches. Spain, with its strong Catholic tradition, contrasts with the Czech Republic, which registers a relatively low proportion of individuals with declared religious affiliation, according to statistical data from the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ) in 2021. The research participants consist of current adolescents and young adults aged 15 to 26 from the Czech Republic and Spain, who attended primary school during the systematic introduction of reproductive health education. The study aimed to investigate how...
Teaching theoretical informatics using the CLIL method
KŮRKA, Martin
This diploma thesis deals with the design, preparation, and testing of teaching a theoretical topic in computer science using the CLIL method. I have chosen encoding and data transmission as my topic. I have created 7 teaching lessons, which contain over 30 activities and correspond to the expected outcomes according to the new framework curriculum for lower secondary education in the field of computer science. Each lesson has a different content focus. The created materials cover, for example the topic of character and number encoding, encryption, the use of the binary system and its limits, bitmap images and their encoding or data compression. All lessons are accompanied by method sheets in English, together with worksheets. The method sheets contain expected outcomes and possible problems that may occur. The lessons and activities themselves are then described in detail in the practical part. Since all the objectives and expected outcomes were met during my testing in practice, my conclusion is that the CLIL method is suitable for teaching the theoretical topic of computer science. However, a certain amount of support in the mother tongue was needed for teaching, which decreased as the students' confidence increased. It was also necessary to provide students with support in the form of visual aids such as worksheets. The most important fact is that during the testing the content was not neglected at the expense of language development and vice versa. In the theoretical part of this thesis, I describe the field of computer science according to the updated framework curriculum for primary education, especially the area of data, information, and modelling. Furthermore, in the theoretical part, I discuss the principles, benefits, and methods of the CLIL method.
Teaching science outdoors
ŠALANDOVÁ, Michaela
The aim of the thesis is to suggest possible educational programmes on the topic of "Meadow ecosystem", within the framework of primary school Science curriculum for 4th grade learners. The educational programmes are suggested both for outdoor and indoor learning. The thesis provides an awareness about outdoor teaching and offers some methodically developed units, including several worksheets. Both programmes were verified with 4th grade classes at ZŠ Třešť, in a normal way inside the classroom and outside as well. Modern technologies such as mobile phones and tablets were included into the teaching methods. The level of success was measured by pre-test and post-test system. These tests were realized a week before and a week after the learning block. The results show that learning in outdoor environment can be more effective than learning inside the classroom.
