Influence of existencialism on education
Sál, Petr ; Syřiště, Ivo (advisor) ; Prokop, Jiří (referee)
The theme of this thesis is to describe the development of the philosophical basis for the emergence of existentialism by Jean-Paul Sartre and subsequently explore this philosophical model. Then the work proceeds to the thought experiment and creates an outline of the teacher's competence, which would include the philosophy of Jean-Paul Sartre. The basic question, which this thesis should answer, is whether it is possible to apply a philosophical approach of existentialism, especially early philosophy of Jean-Paul Sartre, as it was presented in the lecture (called) Existentialism is a Humanism, into the school environment with the aim to improve the possibilities of education and thus uplift the teacher's working outside the official curriculum standard. Freedom and autonomy in work of Jean-Paul Sartre
Polánka, David ; Blažková, Miloslava (advisor) ; Drozenová, Wendy (referee)
Master essay "Freedom and autonomy in work of Jean-Paul Sartre" engages Sartre's literature and drama. It is trying to find some elements of the author's philosophy, which are included in his stories. Because of that, I indicated some significant thematic spheres based on author s phil- osophical works - Freedom and responsibility of human; Feeling of anxiety and subsequent insincerity; Freedom in interpersonal relationships. Significantly I observed the presence of mentioned themes during detailed analysis of Sartre's fictions and dramas. I managed to prove that Sartre's literature and dramas don't just include mentioned thematic elements, but it is even adapted to display these philosophical themes in the stories, novels or dramas. It confirms the thesis that Sartre was creating his literature and dramas to spread his own philosophical ideas to whole society. Personally, I evaluate this as the big contribution of the author.

The woman in Miguel de Unamuno's novels
Seifertová, Klára ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (advisor) ; Poláková, Dora (referee)
The thesis presents the work of the Spanish author Miguel de Unamuno and is focused on female characters in his novels Paz en la guerra, Amor y Pedagogía, Niebla, Abel Sánchez, Tres novelas ejemplares y un prólogo, La tía Tula and San Manuel Bueno, mártir. The portrayal of female characters is showed in the context of Unamuno's philosophy and existential concepts, which he dealt with a lifetime - genuine faith in God, the significance of love, the eternal conflict between sense and sensibility and the desire for eternal life. Furthermore, the thesis presents the social and historical background at the turn of the 19th century and women's role in the Spanish society of the same period. Unamuno's conception of novels and his own genre, called "nivola", could not be omitted.
Unamuno's philosophy in his The Tragic Sense of Life
Kalkusová, Tereza ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (advisor) ; Poláková, Dora (referee)
(in English) The thesis deals with a complex analysis of Unamuno's The Tragic Sense of Life. The assumption for that is the investigation of the literary and intellectual framework from which the author's ideas were derived. For the analysis is used the cultural and historical context of the text, as well as its comparison with other Unamuno's literary and essayistic works, as these diffuse formally and conceptually.
The concept of death in existentialist mean
NAGYOVÁ, Andrea
The main question of this work is which view existentialists philosophers have about the death. The main intentension of this work is to demonstrate the different kinds of understanding the death by individual authors. We look for the answers of the questiones, if we can find the different forms of the death. The questiones, which way authors akcept the dead in their works, or if being of the death affect their work. At the end I want to refer of the question of life after the death. If authors belived in the life after the dead or if they didn´t. The work is written with consciousness, that the death has its own secret, that is hardly to answer.
The theme of guilt in Czech prose of the 1960s
HOUZIMOVÁ, Eliška
The diploma thesis is focused on the theme of guilt in the particular texts edited in the 1960s. The theme is followed with regard to the phenomena of holocaust, transfer of Sudeten Germans, collaboration and communist regime. The ties between actual and fictional world are among others considered with a view to refer to the unique character of totalitarian regimes. One of the aims is to find out parallels between the Nazi and the Communist regime and the interface of their ideologies in terms of analysis, comparison and interpretation of the texts. Simultaneously, the narrative discourse is considered within context of the influence it has got upon the interpretation of guilt. The guilt itself is surveyed with regard to the philosophy of existentialism which contributes to the specification of possible ways of defining the particular offences and their evaluation, and at the same time helps to open new ways of discussion about guilt and possibilities of staying innocent as the significant phenomena not only in the realm of the literature of the 1960s.
