Manipulation techniques in multi-level marketing

The thesis focuses on psychological manipulation used in recruitment in multi-level marketing companies. Despite the fact that multi-level marketing companies often use unethical practices and pose (not only) a financial risk, the number of their members has been growing steadily in the Czech Republic. They are particularly dangerous to vulnerable groups, including mothers on parental leave, the unemployed and students. However, the topic has not yet been sufficiently researched and thus lacks the theoretical foundation for developing a strategy to prevent the harmful effects of multi-level marketing. The aim of the thesis is to describe the recruitment process of multi-level marketing companies that operate in the Czech Republic, as well as the manipulation techniques they use. In order to meet the aim of the thesis, the participant observation method was used to observe the recruitment process of three selected multi-level marketing companies - Amway, Herbalife and Nu Skin. In addition to the observation, documents provided by the companies were collected. The results presented in this thesis can serve as a basis for educational practice to raise awareness of the issue of psychological manipulation in multi-level marketing companies and to design prevention strategies. Early works of Martin Rajniš 1968 - 1986 in the context of the Liberec Association of Engineers and Architects (SIAL)

The bachelor thesis focuses on the early works of Martin Rajniš, closely connected with his work in the SIAL Kindergarten. The first chapter is devoted to the establishment and the education at the SIAL Kindergarten within the Liberec Association of Engineers and Architects, as well as the leading representatives of both groups. The second chapter of the thesis presents the work of M. Rajniš during his postgraduate years in the SIAL Kindergarten at the turn of the sixties and seventies. The third chapter is devoted to Rajniš's cooperation with the Liberec Stavoprojekt. His first big project is the design of the Prior 02 Shopping Centre, later called Máj Department Store. It is located at Národní třída in Prague. M. Rajniš collaborated on this project with John Eisler and Miroslav Masák, the founders of the Liberec Association of Engineers and Architects. Rajniš's collaboration with the architect Michal Brix, who himself went through the SIAL Kindergarten, is also crucial for this time. The fourth chapter is connected with the year of 1986, when M. Rajniš, in collaboration with M. Brix and Studio Shape, managed to design the exhibition Expo 86 in Montreal, Canada. Self-concept of an individual with an autism spectrum disorder and its reflection from the point of view of close people

This bachelor thesis deals with the self-concept of an individual with an autistic spectrum disorder and the reflection of their self-concept through the perspective of his close person. The theoretical part, that is separated to four parts, presents the history of approaches to ASD and its symptoms, I describe three main problematic features for individuals with autism. Then it describes the self- concept, historical and present approaches and concrete parts of self-concept, it also shows the results of previous research of the self-concept of individuals with ASD and presents the possibilities of examining the self-concept. In the empirical part, I deal with the specifics of the self-concept of individuals with ASD, the degree of adequacy of the view of close people and the most significant differences between the statements of close people and individuals with ASD. It also includes three case studies of respondents with ASD, their close people and its mutual comparisons. I describe the self-concept of individuals with ASD, view of their close people and I compare those two views. I also look for common topics for those respondents. I answer my research questions on this base. I compare my research with current researches. I also reflect possible limitations of my research.

Children's reading at lower secondary school

The diploma thesis is focused on the condition of contemporary teenage reading. It ascertains the basic attributes of the chosen basic school pupils' reading. The thesis occupies with characteristic signs of pupil's reader's behaviour, their reader's interests and attitudes, it describes their relation to reading. It also looks at various factors influencing the development of children's reading. The thesis studies the position of reading in competition for other leisure activities of today's teenagers. It researches as well if present teenage reading really is "in crisis" as the level of reading literacy of czech pupils declines, which is shown in latest results of international researches. The theoretical part shows the basic characteristics of teenage reading in regard of progression specifics of the given age group. It is occupied with the way the school literary education influnces the teenage reading, too. It also studies the reading literacy and its position in the basic curriculum document for basic schools. The thesis gives a brief insight into the readership research history in the Czech Republic with emphasy on the results of topical researches as well. Analysis of dynamics of beta coefficient in the CAPM model using models of asymmetric volatility and correlation

The aim of this thesis is to estimate the dynamic development of the beta coefficient for the pharmaceutical industry and agriculture to test the influence of asymmetry in volatility and correlation on the estimation of this coefficient. OLS rolling window, Dynamic Conditional Correlation by Engle (2002) and its asymmetric version by Cappiello, Engle and Sheppard (2006) were used to demonstrate the dynamic development of the beta coefficient. In the case of agriculture, the asymmetry in scattering and correlation had a statistically significant impact on the beta coefficient estimate. In the case of the pharmaceutical industry, the beta coefficients of these models differed only in shorter periods of high volatility. In addition, the ability to predict beta during crisis was better for these models than for the beta published by Damodaran.

The level of awareness of patients with gastroduodenal ulcer disease

The thesis discuss patient is awareness of gastroduodenal ulcer disease. It is divided into a theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part is dedicated to the anatomy and physiology of the gastrointestinal tract. Further parts deal with the ulcer disease itself it is classification, risk factors, clinical picture, diagnosis and prevention. The theoretical part also contain possible complications, risks, subsequent therapeutic or surgical treatment and the nursing proces of patiens with ulcer disease of the gastrointestinal tract. thesis presents statistics of the amount of hospitalized patients with gastroduodenal ulcer disease and statistics of the amount of patients with stomach ulcer disease, who had undergo surgery treatment within years 2004 - 2011. The empirical part consists of the quantitative surfy research using electronic and printed forms of the questionnaires. The aim of the research was to map the patients awareness of the gastroduodenal ulcer disease and to find out the level of knowledge of the surveyed clients in this issue.
