Bavarian nominations to the throne of Bohemia in the late middle ages and early modern era
Herglová, Ivana ; Beneš, Zdeněk (referee) ; Bobková, Lenka (advisor)
Due to the irnrnediate environment, the relations between the Kingdom of Bohemia and the Duchy of Bavaria were very frequent and of various nature. The peak of the medieval relations between both the countries was no doubt between the 14th and early 15th century when the kings of the Luxembourg dynasty fought with the Bavarian duke' s family of Wittelsbach for the hegemony in the Holy Roman Empire. In the 15th century, both countries were weakened through either territory division in the case of Bavaria or nonexistence of Royal power in the Bohemian case. The direct contact of both the countries led, during the 15~ and early 16th century to several nominations of Bavarian dukes from the lines Bavaria-Munich, Bavaria-Landshut and the Palatinate-side line to the throne of Bohemia. The two most promising nominations were those of Albrecht III. of BavariaMunich in 1440 and of William IV. and Louis X. of Bavaria, both in opposi tion to the Habsburg House currently holding also the position of the Roman king. The negative answer of the duke to the nomination of Albrecht III. was not influenced by the lack of money as it is often suggested. Nor was the duke discouraged by the overall complicated situation in the Bohemian Kingdom. As a person who grew up in the country and joined also the Empirial forces in the...

Symbolic Production of Papal Institution
Gerbery, Juraj ; Češka, Jakub (advisor) ; Marcelli, Miroslav (referee)
The topic of the submitted thesis is a symbolic performance of the papal institution. We are laying stress on the form of communication of the papal institution and design of its legitimacy within the medial discourse. In the first and second chapter, we summarize the definition of papal institution as such. First of all, we investigate papal institution from the point of view of its historical development, eventually of its rich structure. Third part is defining the basal papal symbolism by means of discussing the principles of clothing and papal insignia. The key parts are composed by analyzing of both, the Pope election according to the Constitution Universi Dominici Gregis and the analysis of the Doctrine of impeccability of the Pope. The first of the phenomenon, being analyzed using the theory of modern myths by Roland Barthes and which is being derived from traditional conception of investigation of symbols performed by Ferdinand de Saussure. The second semiotics analysis is focused on the doctrine of impeccability of the Pope stressing the Theory of performatives of John Langshaw Austin with remarkable contribution of Pierre Bourdieu and his conception of the social conditions for the effectiveness of ritual discourse. Our hypothesis is, that investigation of instruments of symbolic performance of...

Pseudo-religious elements in dictatorship systems. Example of Turkmenistan
Krbec, Jan ; Pelc, Bogdan (advisor) ; Brož, Prokop (referee)
PSEUDO-RELIGIOUS ELEMENTS IN DICTATORSHIP SYSTEMS. EXAMPLE OF TURKMENISTAN Bachleor dissertation The objective of the dissertation in catholic fundamental theology is to provide an empirically supported theological analysis of elements reminding religion and its acts in official actions of modern dictatorship systems. The paper is supported by the authority of expert works at modern dictatorships, the philosophers Hannah Arendt, Eric Voegelin, Raymond Aron and the politologist Hans Maier. It provides a summary of substantial elements in the dictatorship of French Revolution and in atheistic totalitarian régimes of bolshevism, fascism and nazism. In part, the paper makes efforts to extend the matter from positions of theology of evidence. Based on tomistic concept of religion, it characterizes pseudo-religious elements as practices of sourcing external forms from religious acts in the secular dimension, however without their intrinsic content. The paper sees their possible roots in cultural heritage, in limitations of adequate human resources for expression of the highest values and in abusing such acts as effective tools of human manipulation. The mentioned systemisation is applied to the example dictatorship of the 21st century in today's Turkmenistan, concretely to relevant questions regarding the...

Correction of misalignment aberrations of a hexapole corrector using the differential algebra method
Radlička, Tomáš ; Oral, Martin
Overcoming the limitations of the Schertzer theorem is a long story in electron microscopy. Although the basic principle of a spherical aberration (C3) correction was suggested as early as in 1947 the first experimental correctors of spherical aberration were only realized in the last decade of the 20th century. The recent multipole correctors are designed for high-energy\nTEM or STEM, where the corrector system enables reaching the atomic resolution. On the other\nhand, the corrector for low-energy SEM has been developed but this type of corrector must also contain chromatic aberration (Cc) correction to reduce the effect of the non-zero energy width. Recently, the energies of SEM reach 30 keV and transmission mode (TSEM) is a standard part of the instrument. Standard resolution in TSEM is about 0.6 nm and it is limited by C3. Reaching atomic resolution with this set-up is not a real expectation because of its instability, but the resolution of about 0.2 nm would increase the field of applications. Corrector for these type of instruments should be (a) simple, compact and cheap (b) only spherical aberration of the third,\noptionally the fifth order must be corrected (c) effect of the chromatic aberration may be reduced by energy filtering. We studied design based on Rose’s hexapole corrector.

Chromaticism of brass musical instruments in the first half of the 19th century, instruments fitted with a key mechanism.
Rouček, Jaroslav ; REJLEK, Vladimír (advisor) ; HAVLÍK, Jaromír (referee)
In my thesis I have tried to describe the brass instrument chromaticism process by means of covering the corpus by hand and especially by applying a key mechanism. I have dealt with the first sources, discoveries and experiments which preceded the spread of keyed brass instruments. I worked closely with the personages Anton Weidinger and J. L. Kunerth, who were considered as first inventors of the keyed trumpet. I have formulated a hypothesis concerning the identification of lost compositions for the keyed trumpet by J. N. Hummel, including the reconstruction and a practical example of the Quartet in E Major. I have discussed methodologies of playing the keyed trumpet and collected responses from the contemporary press concerning the use of the keyed trumpet in concert life in this period. I have created lists of detailed information on the traditional keyed trumpets and their literature.

Harpsichord - Basso continuo and obligate tool in chamber music by J. S. Bach (focusing on sonatas for violin and harpsichord)
Nováková, Denisa ; MRÁZKOVÁ, Giedre (advisor) ; SPURNÝ, Vojtěch (referee)
Master's graduatinon thesis Harpsichord-Basso continuo and obligate instrument in chamber music by J.S.Bach (focusing on sonatas for violin and harpsichord) deals mainly with 17th and 18th century. The content of the thesis is divided into three main chapters, which are further divided into sub-chapters, accompanied by footnotes and the note annexex at the end of the thesis. The first chapter outlines the role of the harpsichord in the play basso continuo. The second chapter deals with the transformation of basso continuo parts to obbligato parts from German authors of the 18th century. The third chapter analyzes the topic of the harpsichord concerto as instruments in the violin sonatas by Bach and explains the Bach Sonata in E Major for obbligato harpsichord and violin (BWV 1016) which I played at the master´s concert. The final chapter is a summary of the previous chapters.

Legal regulation of international trade in endangered species
Babeľová, Linda ; Stejskal, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Drobník, Jaroslav (referee)
Legal regulation of international trade in endangered species Resumé Over-exploitation due to international trade is the third most serious cause of extinction to species in the world. As the human population has grown, so has the demand for wildlife. Because of this pressure the loss of biodiversity has become a global problem now. Interest in solving the unsustainable wildlife trade has been increasing since the 60's of the 20th century. International organizations have realized the essentialness of international cooperation for the protection of certain species of wild fauna and flora in this time. The result was the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, known as CITES. CITES was conceived in the spirit of cooperation between member states and all parties must take appropriate measures to enforce the Convention. The purpose of my thesis is to give an overview of legal regulations at national, European and international level and make comparisons to show the differences between them. The thesis is divided into five coherent chapters. The first one is a brief introduction into the problem of wildlife trade and it gives a general description of the legislation. Chapter two is devoted to international instruments, mainly CITES. The Convention has established how to...
