Prague ensembles of contemporary music between 1990-2004
Práve izolovanost a omezenost možnosti zprítomnovat novou tvorbu ohrožuje soudobou hudební tvorivost nejvíce. Není divu, že si skladatelé pomáhají vlastními silami. Po roce 1989 zacínají zakládat vlastní komorní soubory, kde svou tvorbu mohou prezentovat a konfrontovat s...

Genetic diversity and evolutionary history of Czech endemic taxa from the genus Dianthus
Kalůsková, Jana ; Suda, Jan (advisor) ; Chrtek, Jindřich (referee)
Abstract This MSc. thesis deals with karyological, genetic and phenotypic variation of selected taxa from the genus Dianthus L. in the Czech Republic and adjacent countries. The evolutionary history of the genus has been shaped by several microevolutionary processes, including interspecific hybridization, genome duplication, and edaphic speciation. These processes led to the origin of a number of phenotypically similar taxa, which are often restricted to a narrow geographic area. One subendemic and three endemic taxa occur in the Czech Republic. These (sub)species were used as model groups to gain insight into microevolutionary processes in small populations and the postglacial development of the genus in Central Europe. The thesis consists of three parts, each addressing different evolutionary phenomenon: Dianthus arenarius subsp. bohemicus is a critically endangered endemic psammophyte currently known from a single population in Central Bohemia. The site is also inhabited by widespread D. carthusianorum. Interspecific hybridization has been suspected on the basis of morphological characters, but this has never been confirmed by any other technique. I exploited differences in the number of chromosomes between both species and, with the aid of DAPI flow cytometry, estimated relative DNA contents of...

Brzá, Magdaléna ; Karásek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Ditrych, Ondřej (referee)
The Master's thesis Delegitimization of the west in Al Qaeda's Magazine Inspire focuses on the techniques of terrorist group's propaganda aimed at individuals of Arab descent and Islam faith residing in one of the western countries. Thesis analyses sixteen issues of digital magazine Inspire published since 2010 by Al Qaeda affiliate in Yemen called AQAP - Al Qaeda in Arabian Peninsula. Terrorist attacks by so called lone-wolfs on the territory of western states have had increasing tendency in the last decade. The phenomenon of online propaganda and radicalisation through social networks is progressively becoming one of the major challenges for western security services. Grasping the sociological and psychological aspects of lone wolfs' drivers for conducting terrorist attacks is thus crucial. The underpinning theory of the thesis is framing analysis together with the concept of delegitimization. Thesis traces the production and use of five framing tools - metaphor, catchphrases, depiction, exemplars and visual images (which are the combination of studies done by Fairhurst & Sarr and Gamson & Modigliani 1989). Second part of the thesis links the framing tools with three stages of the delegitimization of the west - a crisis of confidence, a conflict of legitimacy and a crisis of legitimacy. The...

Ropek, Pavel ; Mazáčová, Nataša (advisor) ; Syslová, Hana (referee)
My central tendency is to make good or not to make good that Gypsies' relation to the education and institutions of education is negative and also to specify factors which influence this situation. We can consider that as a fall of the bad situation with education of Gypsies. I made a decision to evidence this tendency by two researches. The first of them was focused on confrontation of opinions on problems with education of Gypsies by teachers who work at common elementary schools. I've chosen two different elementary schools which are situated in different conditions and localities. I've elected list of questions as a method of research. Results of these questionaries show that there isn't difference in the opinion on problems with Gipsy education dependent on location and conditions of place where was done this research. This research shows that address teachers considered Gypsies relation to education as a negative. The second research was focused on opinions of teachers who are used to work with Gipsy children and opinions of Gypsies themselves as well. I chose list of questions as a method of research again. Results of teacher's answers show that they consider Gypsies relation to education as a bad but result of Gipsy answers show that they have positive relation to the education. This research...

Nacházel, Jan ; Jílek, Josef (advisor) ; Pekárek, Štěpán (referee)
This thesis deals with the impact of quantitative easing on public sector bond yields of selected countries in the world. It mentions channels of standard monetary policy tools and channels of quantitative easing, which can be included among unconventional monetary policy tools. This thesis analyses the impacts of quantitative easing, which was done by the Federal Reserve System, the Bank of England and the European Central Bank. Firstly, all these institutions fought against the financial crisis with standard monetary policy tools. However, those tools were not very effective, therefore the institutions moved to non-standard tools. After the analysis based on event-study method was carried out, it was found out that mainly the first announcements about the policy of quantitative easing were always the most effective in decreasing government bond yield. The subsequent expansion of the policy of quantitative easing did not have such impact. The main benefit of this thesis is in the examination of the impact of later statements regarding quantitative easing on government bond yield, which were not effective in decreasing government bond yield.
