Moral Responsibility of Collectives
Fojt, Viktor ; Znoj, Milan (advisor) ; Vargovčíková, Jana (referee)
The subject of this work is a long-term debate about the collective responsibility which occurs between two opposite opinions on social phenomenon above all. The methodical individualists interpret the social phenomenons with reference to individuals, whereas the methodical holists assert that these cannot be reduced to phenomenons of individuals without any rest. Methodical individualists lean on the classic conception of the moral responsibility which is based on the intended agency in causal connection with the moral wrong. This conception is connected with human beings in its nature, but there is countless of thinkers who bring arguments in favour of the collective moral responsibility which is thought to bring about more good in the world. We will try to introduce this debate in its complexity and its most interesting and important arguments. Within the frame of debate about moral responsibility of collectives, we can meet with the notion of shared responsibility, distributive collective responsibility, non-distributive collective responsibility connected with the organized collectives, the responsibility for historic injusticies and with the conception of moral taint. All of notions will be the subject of this work. The biggest interest is put on the responsibility of politic communities. In...

Charles Taylor's anthropological critique of liberalism
Boudal, Jiří ; Čapek, Jakub (advisor) ; Jirsa, Jakub (referee)
The thesis presents Charles Taylor's conception of liberalism where the negative concept of liberty is rooted in a positive moral ideal of authenticity. First of all, both the main motivations which led liberals to defend the pure negative concept of liberty and Taylor's claim that these motivations all depend on the atomistic ontology is examined. Later, this atomistic basis is refuted and Taylor's holistic approach is offered which relies mainly on concepts of the personal identity and of the so called strong evaluation. Following this, concept of authenticity is presented as the implicit ideal of modern identity. Authenticity is interpreted as a pluralistic moral ideal appreciating uniqueness although containing some general moral demands. The thesis also shows that such a concept of authenticity presupposes negative liberty. Finally, some political consequences of such a liberal theory are provided.

The diploma thesis "Image of Czech family in Weekly Reflex and Respekt in Volume 1993 and 2008" concentrates on family in the Czech Republic and how it is reflected by two weekly, Reflex and Respekt, in two observed years, 1993 and 2008. In the first ,theoretical part, there is a historical overview of Czech family and launch and developement of both magazines. The second, practical part, is the research itself. The method used for the research was the qualitative interpretative analysis. Each article was coded by a name of each theme group that is connected with problems of Czech family. The developement of magazines was defined by analysing changes and movements of each group between the years 1993 and 2008. These differences are caused by both socioeconomic changes and developement of political landscape within the Czech society as well as individual experience of particular journalists and editorial offices.

Dzurenda, Hanna Krystyna ; Špaček, Ladislav (advisor) ; Jirák, Jan (referee)
This work wants to introduce the basic history of the political communication and political marketing and then to show it on the example of Czech Social-democratic Party (CSSD) and its campaign in the parliamentary election in 2006. In the beginning there is a short overview of theories about political communication and also a chapter about the evolution of political campaigns. In the next part of this work I write about the behavior of voters during the election and what mainly influences it. As a very important topic I find the preelect surveys and how the incorrect interpretation of it can influence or change the voters' choice. Then I wanted to introduce the CSSD, so I wrote a little about it and about its history and finally there are chapters about the campaign of this party in the parliamentary election in 2006. In the Czech republic is billboard one of the most important communication tools and the CSSD used billboards a lot and so I chose this tool to show the colors and the graphic design of the campaign. Dofková, Jekaterina ; Kyselka, Mojmír (referee) ; Urbášková, Hana (referee) ; Šlapeta, Vladimír (advisor)
The relationship between Czech and Russian avantgarde has not been properly examined, therefore the aim of this research was to understand the real facts and uncover “ the blind spots“ connected with the specific development of avantgarde architecture in Czechoslovakia and Soviet Union. A comprehensive and moreless thorough detailed reconstruction of the interwar period has been created with the help of comparative and historiographic analysis. This period used to be interpreted quite contrarily under the political pressure of the Soviet regime. The thesis analyses the influence of the political regime on architecture, determines the reflection of the events in the Soviet Union on the opinions of Czechoslovak architects by means of testimonies about mutual contacts, mutual criticism and cooperation in the sphere of architecture. The thesis brings and concludes new information regarding Czech architects who were designing and working in the Soviet Union. The research is based on archive documents, articles from specialized contemporary magazines and debates between Czech and Russian architects.

Antonín Macek: the poet, publicist and writer
Konvalinka, Filip ; Heczková, Libuše (referee) ; Vaněk, Václav (advisor)
The present study Antonín Macek: the poet, the publicist and the prosaist is concerned with the works of Antonín Macek, one of the forgotten Czech authors of the first two decades of twentieth century. The literary science has not taken the sufficient account of his artistic legacy so far. Just the marxistic theorists in the second half of twentieth century has perused his writings and viewed Macek's merely as a revolutionary socialistic writer with respect to his leftist politics (displayed especially in his journal articles). Our main purpose is to prove that this view is quite simplified and that Macek's work at full is much richer. For this purpose we tried to restore all the original editions of Macek's writings (especially his poems and tales) to reach new and current interpretation. We attempted to specify his apparently solitary place in the history of Czech literature by marking out his relations to more remarkable writers of Macek's epoch (such as S. K. Neumann, F. X. Šalda, J. S. Machar, M. Marten, O. Theer etc.) and incorporate his works in the field of opposed contemporary styles (such as symbolism, social poetry, nature lyrics, proletary poetry etc.). We have applied special respect to religious aspects of Macek's writings, which were depreciated by the latter marxistic interpreters. Our...
