Theoretical and experimental study of a Wien filter properties for using at the very-low-energy scanning electron microscope
Vlček, Ivan
Results of Wien filter study are employed for design of a very low-energy scanning microscope. A Wien filter serves as a separator of primary and signal electrons in this arrangement. The paper describes design of other optical parts of the microscope: objective lens, deflection system and CCD detector optics.

Creatine fortification in relation to homocysteinemia
Kohlíková, E. ; Petr, M. ; Šenholdová, Z. ; Navrátil, Tomáš ; Heyrovský, Michael ; Přistoupilová, K. ; Přistoupil, T. I.
Some people supplement their diet by high doses of creatine (CR) to increase their muscle performace. In this way, they intensify the biochemical processes on cell membranes. The water thus formed is retained in the cells, which increases the body mass. The organism must remove exogenously added CR, probably in a similar way as in removing xenobiotics via oxidation with cyt.P450 to 2C units to cooperation with GSH. Our new simple and cheap voltammetric method enables to estimate thiogycolic (TDGA), the natural product of oxidative catabolism of thiocompounds, excreted to urine in regular catabolic processes.

Pech, Miroslav ; Hrabovský, Miroslav ; Schovánek, Petr ; Křepelka, Jaromír ; Palatka, Miroslav ; Nožka, Libor ; Mandát, Dušan ; Rössler, T. ; Řídký, Jan ; Boháčová, Martina
The Pierre Auger Observatory is designed for study of the universe's high energy particles, which evolve in the high layers of the atmosphere, where an elementary particle strikes with energy above 10.sup.19./sup. eV (1.6 J!). However, there is no scientific consensus about cosmic ray origin. The Auger Observatory is projected to gather the data needed to solve that puzzle. One of the detection technique is to observe these showers by fluorescent detectors, which are able to record the cascade development where the secondary particle causes atmospheric nitrogen to fluoresce.

Hydrodynamic analysis of basic equipment in units for the thermal processing of wastes
Říha, Kamil ; Kilkovský, Bohuslav (referee) ; Pařízek, Tomáš (advisor)
Thermal processing of wastes is a metod, when during combustion occur reduction of wastes till 10% previous volume. The main advantage of this method is possibility to heat utilization for heat and electric production. Through thermic process develops range of pollutants (NOx, CO, SO2, HCl, HF, PCDD/F) that had to be remove from off-gas or reduced to enviromental values in agreement with laws in force [16]. For this purpose are combustion units equip with range of devices for removing this pollutans. The main task of this diploma thesis is selectoin of ctirical device in term of pressure drops. The value of pressure drop stands significant part in proposition of efficiecy off-gas fan. In increase or decrease total pressure drop consumption of electrical energy of off-gas fan is rising or going down. Change of consumption in total classification is projecting in energy utilization rate of waste where is determinate if it stands of energy utilizatoin or just incineration. In first part of diploma thesis are described in detail availability methods of off-gas cleaning where is described their principle, advanteges, disadvatages and comparison of effectivity. In second part of diploma thesis is made example model about influnce technology on value of total pressure drop. There were chosen two technologies for removing dioxins (technology of catalytic filtration REMEDIA and DeNox/DeDiox). For both technologies were made detailed analysis of pressure drops single components of these technologies. Attainment results were compared and rated with one another. For analysis these two methods were designed mathematical process in software Maple 9.5.

Expression of selected proteins in sperm in men with normal and pathological spermiograms using monoclonal antibodies
Pěknicová, Jana ; Čapková, Jana ; Dorosh, Andriy ; Margaryan, Hasmik ; Kubátová, Alena ; Děd, Lukáš
Recent studies show that infertility in human populations it affects an estimated 15% of couples of reproductive age. Male infertility is the primary cause for 60% of these cases. For these reasons, we analyzed the acrosomal and sperm surface proteins in men with normal and pathological spermiograms. We found that intra-acrosome proteins: TERA (Transitional endoplasmic reticulum ATPase), GAPDHS (Sperm Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase), and PRKAR2A (C-AMP-dependent protein kinase II, PRKAR2A), which can be identified using our monoclonal antibodies, are different express in healthy men and men with astenozoospermia (with reduced sperm motility), and with a significantly reduced expression in the astenozoospermia. These proteins are involved in energy metabolism and apoptosis of the cells, and some of them in the sperm-egg interaction; therefore, they have an important role in reproduction. On the other hand, there were no statistically significant differences in the expression of surface proteins (Appolipoprotein J (Clusterin) and Semenogelin). Our findings show that astenozoospermia as a complex disorder of the semen is often combined with other pathological conditions that are not diagnosed by the semen analysis. Therefore monoclonal antibodies are so suitable instrument for the detection of proteins associated with the pathology of the sperm in the semen with low sperm motility. In general, monoclonal antibodies against the sperm proteins are an appropriate tool to detect sperm quality in reproductive medicine.

The use of energy criterion for computing the fatigue lives of structures stressed by a multiaxial nonproportional random loading
Balda, Miroslav ; Svoboda, Jaroslav
The originally uniaxial energy criterion has been modified for an multiaxial case introducing a fictive damaging stress as a resultant of a couple of normal stresses as a driving one. The resulting fatigue lives are in an acceptable correlation with those obtained experimentally. A scattering of the experimental data increases with a ratio of tangential and normal stresses.

Steam-air turbine using PBS Turbo turbocharger
Schrimpel, Michal ; Doc.Ing.Ladislav Vilimec, CSc. (referee) ; Kadrnožka, Jaroslav (advisor)
The purpose of this analysis is used PBS Turbo turbochargers like a steam-air turbine in the Flexible Energy System. The System is analogy of Brayton cycle with high efficiency, but heat is transferred to the cycle through a heat exchanger. Main parts of this work are the literature search, the thermodynamic model of the steam-air cycle, and solution for other possibilities. The goal is to find maximum available electrical output and efficiency. The thermodynamic model is used to: - check computation of the standard turbocharger - computation of the steam-air turbine contain one turbocharger - computation of the steam-air turbine contain two turbochargers. The steam-air turbine is different from the turbocharger. They are compared and than there is found some new design of the new steam-air turbine. The one-turbocharger steam-air turbine is used to test steam-air cycle. The double-turbocharger steam-air turbine is suitable for Flexible Energy System. This solution has a lot of advantages.

Pillars of the European energy policy
Fischer, Jan ; Urban, Luděk (advisor) ; NÁHRADNÍ, OPONENT (referee)
The diploma thesis "Pillars of European Energy Policy" complexly describes the development European energy policy since the foundation of European Coal and Steel Community up to the approval of the European Council Action Plan - Energy Policy for Europe. The first part is devoted to institutional status of the energy policy, studies its delimitation within the Community, presents partial policies of the energy sector, such as the increase of energy efficiency policy and, mainly, introduces the individual pillars of the European Energy Policy, by which is meant the internal energy market, external EU policy connected with ensuring energy supplies and environment protection and support of renewable energy sources. The following sections are therefore concerned with the individual "pillars" of the Energy Policy, as well with liberalization of the energy sector on the EU internal market, its development and with the new legislative proposal of the Council and its alternatives. Furthermore, we focus on problems related with supplying the Union countries and on provisions that provide stability and safety of energy raw materials supplies, such as regional politics and construction of new transition capacities. The last part is devoted to climate protection instruments, which include support of the renewable...
