Qualitative perspective in mixed-methods research
Machovcová, K. ; Zábrodská, Kateřina ; Mudrák, Jiří
Goal of this presentation is to discuss possibilities of practical use of mixed-methods research design, so conducting a research project that would utilize both qualitative and quantitative approach and aim at their integration. We will reflect some relevant methodological discussions and share concrete examples of problems we have encountered during realization of two research projects that used mixed-methods design for studying organizations and organizational behavior.

Canistherapy and Hypotherapy As the Treatment Method on the Handicapped People
Pittnerová, Monika ; Ortová, Marie (advisor) ; Drahotová, Jana (referee)
The work describes two zootherapy alternatives - canistherapy and hypotherapy. At first; on the theoretical level intents on course of the therapy, on the selection of the suitable animals and on the choice of the experienced therapeuts. Canistherapy and hypotherapy take advantage of the children, of the handicapped people and the seniors. On basis of practical experience is described the course and the advantage of this therapy with children who suffer from Cerebral palsy. In the conclusion of this work both these animotherapies are compared. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Nanotechnology as potential method for recycling of PET bottles
Kráčalík, Milan ; Mikešová, Jana ; Pospíšil, L. ; Fortelný, Ivan ; Šimoník, J.
Recycling of PET worldwide is not sufficient. This issue results from decreasing molecular weight due to thermal, mechanical and hydrolytic degradation during multiple processing of polymer. The viscosity (next processability) of material can be increased by preparation of nanocomposites (formation of physical network in the polymer/clay system). The improved processing and utility properties of recycled PET were analyzed by rheology, morphology and tensile tests.

Faktorová, Dominika ; Venzara, Jan (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Jan (referee)
Title: Production and verification of teaching project of elementary arts of karate. Objective: Production and verification of efficient and methodical training programme of karate for children and youth, which increases technical ability and fitness. Methods: Experiment was made by the simple direct method and it took part in the observing five test's groups (one group was made nearly from 25 observed subjects). And than was used the testing and measuring method Eurofit test and test order ČSKe with criterions. The test results were rated by Microsoft ACCESS®, Microsoft EXCEL®, Statistica 6.0 ® a Graph Pad PRISM®. Results: The results validated utility of training programme, but this programme is not more efficient than common training methods. Key words: Karate, elementary arts of karate, teaching and training project.

Analysis of juices of selected red and white currant varieties
Černá, Anna ; Vítová, Eva (referee) ; Vespalcová, Milena (advisor)
Presented diploma thesis deals with the analysis of juices of selected red and white currant varieties. The theoretical part is dedicated to the characteristics of a currant, biologically active substances of its fruits, its growing proces and the utilization of currants in the food industry. The analyzed parameters of currants - phenolics, anthocyanins and vitamin C are also characterized in the theoretical part with possibůe methods of their determination. The experimental part is devoted to the preparation of samples and the working practices of individual analysis. Six selected varieties of white and eleven varieties of red currant from Research and Breeding Institute of Pomology Holovousy Ltd. and six varieties of white and ten varieties of red currant from private grower were used for the analysis. Total phenolics and anthocyanins were determined spectrophotometrically, the content of vitamin C was determined by HPLC. Higher values of these compounds were measured mainly in the varieties of Research and Breeding Institute of Pomology Holovousy Ltd. Varieties of red currants contained higher amounts of total phenolics and anthocyanins while white currants contained higher amounts of vitamin C.

Řízení IS/ICT se zaměřením na sourcing služeb informačního systému
Šebesta, Michal ; Voříšek, Jiří (advisor) ; Havlíček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Příklenk, Oldřich (referee) ; Král, Jaroslav (referee)
Research on outsourcing has been around for several decades, while recent evolution in the information systems discipline towards ICT service commoditization significantly changes the context of decision-making. Services that are available on-demand via the Internet allow organizations implementing functions they demand in a fraction of time. This trend represents a chance for organizations seeking to use advanced ICT services without a need of major investments. Problem is the current lack of guidelines and tools for managing ICT services and their outsourcing. Given the trends on the ICT service market, it is expected that much of the IT management in the future will encompass the ICT services and utilize service-level structures. Methods currently available are either too broad or encompass only small part of the whole problem. Ad-hoc or unsound decisions in this area might cause major complications in terms of quality, usability, integration, and consequently influence total cost of organizational IT. Organizations need to either revise existing models or propose and implement completely new models to manage their IS/ICT. This thesis deals with the management of IS/ICT with focus on the ICT services outsourcing. It discusses available sourcing models in the literature and links them to the various interconnected areas. Based on these areas, it presents an integrated view on IT outsourcing strategies. Most importantly the thesis proposes an original concept for decision-making about outsourcing of ICT services named the SOURCER framework. This approach utilizes the presented outsourcing strategies, and introduces a complex methodology and decision-making criteria that will assist organizations with selection of ICT services in order to maintain and manage a most suitable ICT service portfolio. The decision-making is based on four essential viewpoints: function, costs, time, and quality. These viewpoints are discussed, individually analyzed, and serve as a basis for further research. The whole framework is developed and validated according to Design Science Research Methodology (DSRM). Individual components are evaluated using a survey among a group of selected IT managers. Proof of concept is then established by a case study on framework use in a real organization. This case study covers strategy specification, business--IT alignment, specifying service architecture and its interconnections, outsourcing, and management of the ICT service portfolio.
