Comparative analysis of sickness insurance in Czech Republic, Germany and Austria

This bachelor thesis persues sickness insurance in Czech Republic, Germany and Austria. Sickness insurance is important part of social security system, it provides partial substitution of wage in case of illness or incapacity for work and mitigates the decline in living standard due to loss of income. Main objective of this thesis is to describe the systems of health insurance and to compare selected elements of insurance in each country. The first part contains the historical development of social security in Europe. From the second to fourth chapter there is described the sickness insurance of individual countries . The last chapter is a comparative analysis of selected elements of health insurance.

Social support in an illness. The comparison of the subjective view of the "non-psychiatric" and "psychiatric" patient at his social support in an illness

The thesis is devoted to the social support in an illness of adult patients. A theoretical part is engaged in the illness as a pressure situation, patients, their needs and the social support about which we can talk in the context of the illness. The attention is mainly concentrated on the fact how the patients subjectively feel the support whether they accept or reject it, whether they need it and if the way how it is given is convenient or not. An important thing is to feel the support as a positive thing (e.g. desirable, helpful) and a negative one (e.g. limiting). The selective file, whose data are used for the experimental part of the thesis, consists of 40 patients divided into two groups called "psychiatric group" and "non-psychiatric group". Besides a medical diagnosis the fact which of the patients' health troubles are felt by them as the dominant ones is important for their including into these groups. The basis of the experimental part of the thesis is the quality analysis of the obtained data that are also completed with the quantity comparison of separate indices and the search of potential relations of dependence between them with the help of correlations in each group separately. Epidemiological situation of scabies incidence in the Czech Republic within period 2003 - 2012

Theoretical part of dissertation was written on the basis of studying professional literature. It provides overview of Scabies disease, its epidemiological incidence, transmission, clinical course, diagnostics and also of its treatment. Practical part was formed retrospectively by qualitative research and secondary data analysis. These data were collected from different publications from the State Health Institute in Prague and the Health Information and Statistics Institute in the Czech Republic. The main aim of this dissertation was analyzing the trend of scabies incidence in the Czech Republic within ten years period (2003 2012). Moreover the practical part of this dissertation contains information related to trends of scabies incidence in individual districts of the Czech Republic depending on age, sex, team, seasonal index, or epidemiological scabies incidence as occupational disease. Linear regression was used to assess the incidence trend. Subsequently correlations were ascertained by using method of correlation coefficient calculation. In the research it was found that registered scabies incidence seems to more likely be decreasing from the beginning of followed period (i.e. from the beginning of 2003). According to the seasonal index the most common incidence of this disease within followed period was in October. On the other hand the lowest scabies incidence was in June. The highest sickness rate was recorded in the district Ústí nad Labem with almost 50 cases per 100 000 inhabitants. Scabies as occupational disease belongs to the most common recorded transmissible and parasitic disease in the Czech Republic, mainly at nurses in the hospitals, attendants in retirement homes, in internal wards and in social care institutes. The highest incidence rate was notified in age categories from 5 to 9 years. There exists strong positive linear correlation between scabies incidence and age. Epidemiological scabies incidence in the Czech Republic had two main peaks during period 1965 2012, in 1970 and 1993.

Social Enterpreneurship. The Analysis of the Product at Founding of Social Firm.

Social economy is modern alternative of community development. Respective subjects are dwelling especially on the sphere of the social services, support of employment, education or health service. The social economy is also supported by EU in this aspect. Though legislative alterations of each EU countries are in the different stage of development, subjects of the social economy are established even without these rules. The research of the respective social companies in the Czech republic showed that a social company which determined properly its product could exist and develop without legislative alterations, forms of its existence are very variable. It is also being showed on other analyses of the countries with different rules - Italy, Finland that appropriate legislative alteration makes easer considerably the creation, existence and monitoring of an own contribution of subjects of the social economy. Although the social economy is dwelling on the development of the disabled person potential it does not exist the uniform approach for providing of supports on the part of a state.

Management of education (focused on pupils health and socially disadvanteged)

The diploma thesis is focused on problems teaching of elementary school pupils with physical disadvantaged or socially disadvantaged pupils. The number of these pupils is constantly rising in ordinary schools. The present-day school reform makes it possible for schools, with their new educational programmes, to create the conditions for these pupils to individual integration into a regular classroom. The theoretic part deals with alternation in general - how people perceive it, what are its types, directing people during the change etc. Further it deals the problems of deprived or health disadvantaged pupils and their individual integration into a regular school. The practical part of thesis is attended to research investigation. By using of researching methods it analyses the present state of the integration system in one existing elementary school and it also investigates with posibilities of development and alternation. The overall output of the research is creating suggestion of the Integration developing plan.

Marketing communication of commercial insurance companies on social media

The diploma thesis deals with marketing communication of commercial insurance companies on social media. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the current state of the communication activities of commercial insurance companies on selected social media. Based on the identified state and detected interest in these communication activities by customers, recommendations are suggested for improvement of communication online commercial insurance companies to support the sales of insurance products. The first section defines the areas of insurance, marketing communication and social media. After that there is identification of activities that companies can perform on social media to increase brand awareness. These activities can be monitored, evaluated and after that optimized. In the second section there is identified the current state of commercial insurance activities on social media and detected interest in these activities from customers by using qualitative research. Based on these findings, draft recommendations are formulated on possible improvements to the current situation. The benefit of this thesis is the identification of the current state of commercial insurance activities on social media.

Quality of life and social support in patients with diabetic foot disease

Summary:Diabetic foot disease is a serious complication of diabetes mellitus that is associated with averse sequelae and high costs. The study was focused on psychic and social aspects of quality of life. The aims of this study were following: (i) the description of the quality of life in patients with diabetic foot disease by comparing their quality of life with that of a sample from the healthy population; (ii) characterization of social support in patients with diabetic foot disease by comparing subgroup living with partner and a subgroup living without partner; (iii) the examination of depressive symptoms in patients with diabetic foot disease by comparing severity of depressive symptoms with that of a sample from the healthy population; (iv) the description of psychosocial aspects of diabetic foot disease - limitation of daily activities, interpersonal problems and emotional burden due to problems with foot (v) to examine association between some psychosocial aspects (i.e. social support, limitation of daily activities, interpersonal problems and emotional burden), and severity of depressive symptoms. Interaction between nurses and volunteers at hospital

Volunteering has not started to develop in the Czech Republic until 1989. It has reached also hospitals where volunteers come to see hospitalized patients to cheer them up and to assist at the daily routine. The main role of medical staff is to meet all patients´ needs {--} biological, emotional, social and spiritual ones. It is volunteers who help a lot in fulfilling this duty. The thesis is focused on the cooperation between staff nurses and volunteers in hospital.The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the history of volunteering, all the steps of the procedures leading to competence of treating patients. In the practical part the quantitative research is used. The first objective was to examine attitudes of staff nurses towards volunteers, i. e.if staff nurses consider volunteers´assistance to be of great benefit to patients. The second objective was to learn how volunteers assess staff nurses´ attitudes to their activities in hospital. To gather data questionnaires for staff nurses as well as volunteers were made up. The research was conducted in January and February 2008 in six nursing units in four hospitals in the regions of South Bohemia and Vysocina. According to the results of the research staff nurses largely appreciate volunteers´ assistance. Despite of that fact there were several averse responses on the part of staff nurses that may be the result of lack of information available. According to the feeling of volunteers themselves their concern in nursing is highly appreciated by most staff nurses. Of course, there is a lot to improve to achieve general satisfaction in this area. The research also includes an interview with a contact person between the two groups involved in the care for patients. The contact person´s view of the cooperation between staff nurses and volunteers is favourable. But there are still some difficulties in introducing the volunteer program into hospitals. The contact person is competent to give advice how to prevent possible misunderstandings between the medical staff and volunteers and mainly how not to discourage devoted volunteers from their service. The results of my research were requested by hospitals in Pelhrimov and Jihlava. They may be also provided to any health care facility interested in introducing the program called Volunteers in hospital into practice. This may help them to get valuable information from health care facilities experienced in volunteering.

Income tax in the Czech republic and the European union

Taxes, one of the basic fiscal instruments, form the important part of the revenue of the national budget and thus enable the state to carry out its basic functions concerning especially the allocation of monetary resources into areas like health care, social services, defence and justice. At the time of socialism the economy in some European countries was in a deep crisis. The states reacted to recession resulting from the ineffective economy by taking loans from abroad. In order to overcome such debts the states started to impose the higher tax rates on the population which enables the economies slowly to grow. As a result, the governments were gradually able to reduce the tax rates, which had a favourable impact on population as well as on enterprises. The ex- socialistic European countries progressively try to catch up the advanced countries and their standart of living and taxation is an indispensable tool how to achieve this purpose. In Europe there were several tax reforms in last years, most of them in ex- socialistic European countries. In those reforms some interesting items occurred that could be taken over in other countries.
