Critical Responses to Ondře Sokol's Plays in Činoherní Klub.

This BA Thesis deals with analysis of responses to productions directed by Ondřej Sokol in Činoherní klub from 2002 to 2011. The analysis will be elaborated on the bases of criticism of particular productions and expert studies that pursue staging of new Czech texts and translations of Ondřej Sokol. Its aim is to express a progress of critics' and audience's acceptance of new plays and also to monitor the expansion of the texts to other theatres and their popularization. The thesis describes a phenomenon of a new poetics that penetrated the Czech theatre milieu through Sokol's translational and dramaturgic work.

Translation in Teaching English for Specific Purposes

Translation in Teaching English for Specific Purposes at the Tertiary Level The purpose of this thesis is to explore translation as an aid to language teaching from various perspectives relevant to English for Specific Purposes (ESP) classes at the tertiary level of education. Our intention is to offer the option of incorporating translation activities within ESP courses at universities. The research presented in the thesis is relevant to the context of English as a foreign language, taught in a linguistically homogeneous environment to adult learners of ESP at a tertiary level, with a particular focus on English for legal purposes. The research questions dealt with in this thesis are as follows: 1. Can translation contribute to effective learning of English for Specific Purposes? 2. If the answer to the first question is 'yes,' what forms of translation activities are best suited to make such a contribution? 3. Is translation currently used in courses of English for Specific Purposes, and, more specifically, in courses of English for law taught in the Czech Republic? If so, how is it used? 4. What are learners' perceptions of translation activities? The first two questions are answered through a review of the relevant literature. Slovak prose in German translation and its reception after 1968

The main topic of this MA thesis is a literary critical reflection of Slovak prose in German translations after 1968. The thesis focuses on cultural-literary reflections of Slovak prose in German linguistic context. The author analyses the reviews from German and Austrian linguistic area, while pointing out the differences in literary works in different (though close) linguistic contexts. The theoretical background of the thesis lies in imaginological theories and the author characterizes four basic perspectives of reading Slovak literature based on them. Her aim is to formulate an objective and complex image of the literary critical opinion on Slovak literature in the aforementioned areas. Momo Kapor: Magija Beograda - commented rendition of a narrative cycle

Short story cycle Magija Beograda (2008, The Magic of Belgrade, Czech anthology Belgrade, my magic love!, 2014) is one of the last works of Serbian author Momo Kapor. His subject matter is contemporary picture of Belgrade and characters in his work are people, who are emotionally bound to this city. The aim of this dissertation is to introduce a Czech translation of the short stories and their translatological commentary. This work deals with the theme of Belgrade work of Kapor, which the author engaged in throughout his whole life and wrote in this style for more than ten years. This area of his work still does not have a Czech literary translation. This dissertation also brings more coherent author's portrait. Pivotal part consists of two chapters, first one is devoted to the profile of the author and the second one to the translation and commentary.

This bachelor thesis consists of two parts - translation of a French text into Czech and its commentary. The source text is composed of five chapters from the book Les systèmes de santé en Europe, the authors of this text are Marc Duriez and Diane Lequet-Slama. The commentary analyses the translated text and afterwards it presents the method of translation and also the translation procedures.
