Differences between the beginning and experienced teachers of Physical Education in a lesson preparation and motivation of students on the second stage of elementary schools and lower grades of high schools

Title: Differences between the beginning and experienced teachers of Physical Education in a lesson preparation and motivation of students on the second stage of elementary schools and lower grades of high schools. Aims: The main aim of diploma thesis is to compare and describe differences between beginning and experienced teachers of Physical Education in the Czech Republic in the field of lesson preparation and student motivation. We were interested if there are any significant discrepancies or similarities between selected concepts. Methods: Data of the practical part were assembled by the method of empirical quantitative research in a form of a self-made questionnaire in which took part the teachers of Physical Education who teach on the second stage of elementary schools and lower grades of high schools in the Czech Republic. A condition for filling in was the length of pedagogical practice under five years or upon twenty years. 25 % of elementary schools and 25 % of high schools from each region were randomly asked. In total, 772 schools were addressed, we gathered 271 answers from respondents. Acquired data were elaborated and evaluated in the MS Excel programme. Results: The group of experienced teachers was answering mostly homogenously in comparison with the group of beginning teachers....

The final work deals with the personality of teachers and the basic stressors, which make their work more difficult and which can be one of the reasons of resignation. In the practical part author used the questionnaires to find the rate of the load for the beginning teachers. The work is based on the literature listed at the end and on the questionnaire survey, which was performed with 49 respondents. The final work provides suggestions how to reduce the stress, which is unfortunately a natural part of the teaching profession, or how to prevent it.

Problems which encounters the beginning teacher at primary school

Indicative abstract Not only can the reader get information of whom the beginning teacher is but he can also find plausible reasons leading individuals to choose pedagogical profession in theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis. It is also possible to read about specifics of pedagogical profession such as ageing of pedagogical staff, feminization, vocational deformation and more. One chapter is devoted both to uncertainties of beginning teachers and to their activities. Students of pedagogical branches might be interested in chapters concerning pedagogical preparation of teachers to-be, supremacy and nonstandard situations. Final chapter is dedicated to teachers' quality in the Czech and international context. Results of the investigation inquiry among beginning teachers at primary schools are presented in the practical part. The inquiry offers insight into the pedagogical profession through young eyes. It is possible to conclude from results which activities are the most troublesome for beginning teachers at primary schools and which they have no troubles with.

The final work is focused on the beginning teachers and analyses factors of their leaving from this profession. The bachelor work is divided into the theoretical and the practical - research part. The theoretical part deals with a personality of teachers and basic stressors, which make their work more difficult and which can be one of the reasons of resignation. In the practical part author used the questionnaire to find the rate of the stressful situation for the beginning teachers and the role of the trainee teachers. Except summery of the questionnaire results author tried to suggest solution how to prevent or ease the stressful situations, which are affecting negatively the teaching profession.
