Survival Game in Procedurally Generated World

Project is about developing a 3D computer game using procedural generation for game world creation. The development includes a game engine which powers the game. Various experimental approaches and mechanics are used during the development to find out their usability in practice.

This thesis is divided into two parts. The first, theoretical part deals mainly with the research on the levels of visual impairment and orientation of the blind in space. In the next chapters of the theoretical part, we learn about the different compensatory aids they can use in their everyday life and the requirements for the interior and its furnishing elements. In the second, practical part, the thesis focuses on my suggestions for limiting the selected collision points. These suggestions are then assessed by a blind person, Mr. Josef Konečný. This is followed by an evaluation of the functionality and feasibility of the selected proposals with a final discussion and contribution to practice.
Spatial orientation in Odonata

The aim of this review is to evaluate and sum up an existing knowledge about spatial orientation of dragonflies, particularly at small and medium spatial scales. I deal mostly with orientation by horizontally polarized light, which belongs among the most explored field of orientation of Odonata; beside that I explore an orientation of dragonflies during the habitat selection and within their home ranges / territories. Regarding the latter, I pay an attention namely to the function of spatial landmarks, which has not been yet fully explored and offers a lot of opportunities for further research (like many other orientation topics of Odonata). I also briefly discuss an orientation of dragonflies during migrations. Besides the visual orientation I mention the orientation by olfactory sense, tough Odonata was concerned anosmic for a long time. Immediate early genes as a tool for study of spatial orientation and memory

Properties of the environment, spatial orientation cues and time-shifting movements are essential for cognitive maps. The understanding of how both space and the animal's position within that space are represented in the brain has been significantly advanced by the discoveries of four principal neuronal types: the place cells, the head direction cells, the grid cells and border cells. Their activity being driven by both allothetic (visual and non-visual landmarks), and idiothetic cues (internal movement cues based on proprioceptive and vestibular information). Brain regions containing aforementioned types of neurons constitute complex spatial representation system. Immediate early genes (IEGs) and their products became sophisticated tool for the study of neural substrate of spatial orientation including magnetic orientation. For further research it is unavoidable to uncover the dynamic of processes related to IEGs in order to better understanding the functions of brain centres involved in rodent navigation circuit. Somatognostic functions and spatial memory in patients with failled back surgery syndrome

Aim: The aim of this thesis is both evaluate a somatognosis quality and consider rate of personality dimensions in patients with FBSS. Methods: 30 patients with FBSS and 25 probands of healthy control group were examinated in laboratory of spatial cognition called Blue Velvet Arena. They underwent spatial navigation task and body scheme tests. We made comparative analysis of these measurements between groups. We evaluated personality dimensions in patients group, by using NEO personality inventory and Petrie test. Finally we consider relationships of these variables and another related factors. Results: Signicant difference between patient's group and control group was found both in spatial navigation task and body scheme tests. In spatial navigation task control group had lower results compared to the patient's group. In body scheme tests was found reverse results. We found high correlation of body scheme with age, pain duration and activity level. There was high percentage of underestimating probands and probands with high score of conscientiousness. Error rate (judgement out of tolerance zone) was higher in patient's group compared to the control group. Body schema and spatial orientation patients with Failed Back Surgery Syndrome

This diploma thesis summarizes recent knowledge about body scheme, spatial orientation and their change in context of chronic pain. The purpose of this work is to find out if chronic pain negatively affects the body scheme and spatial orientation. The thesis includes a comparative analysis of experimental measurements between the patients with Failed Back Surgery Syndrome and healthy control group. The analysis compares tasks based on spatial orientation and body scheme tests. Results show the patients' group having lower results in body scheme related tests, showing a noticeable disparity compared to the control group's test scores. These results were further supported by portion of spatial orientation based tasks, where patients' group again performed at significantly lower level than the control group. In conclusion, our thesis, along with other academic works, states that there is a correlation between chronic pain, disrupted body scheme and spatial orientation.
