Tests of integrated analog multipliers
Stolařová, Hana ; Dvořák, Radek (referee) ; Šotner, Roman (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of testing device (tester) for basic verification of parameters and construction of applications using analog multipliers fabricated in TSMC 0.18 m 1.8 V process. The tester is than used for several eperimental measurements such as AC responses, DC responses, total harmonic distortion, offset and input and output impedance. A part of the thesis covers also designs of application examples (circuits) wich use these special analog multipliers (triangular and square wave generator, 2nd order active filter, integrator, etc.).
Revivals of Forms and Styles in Visual Art: Current Hyperrealism as Product of Postproduction or a Commentary on the Advent of New Media
Hrnčířová, Markéta ; Borecký, Felix (advisor) ; Šafaříková, Radana (referee)
The book Postproduction: Culture as Screenplay, written by French aesthetician Nicolas Bourriaud is going to be initial text for my diploma thesis. Bourriaud claims, that contemporary art is mostly made by the principle of assemblage; art works are made by reinterpretation, reproducing or by new exhibiting of artefacts or forms of past. The assumption of the original concept in artworks of contemporary artists - semionauts (travelers in the worlds of signs) has been allready completely ineffective. Through the example of hyperrealistic paintings, which has lately reappeared in portfolios of international and czech artists, I will try to show whether its revilal is based on the emergence of new medias, that even more than in the seventies simulate reality or whether they deal with the concept of postpostprodution - the artists lend only formal, in this case, hyperrealistic, signs. This diploma thesis will be completed by the case study of paintings of czech hyperrealist painter Jan Mikulka.
Evolutionary development of robotic organisms
Leibl, Marek ; Mráz, František (advisor) ; Holan, Tomáš (referee)
This work introduces a system for an evolutionary design of virtual organisms capable of effective movement in a simulated environment. The morphology and the control system are simultaneously developed by an evolutionary algorithms. The system also allows to design organisms in an editor and evolution of the control system with an immutable morphology. The quality evaluation and viewing of evolved organisms is done in a simulated 3D physical environment. The work put stress on the optimization of time and computing complexity of the evolutionary process. This optimization is achieved by using symmetry of organisms and their movement with HyperNEAT-generative encoding of synaptic values. Further optimization is achieved by limiting the variety of mutual module connections and focusing on the harmonic movement of organisms.
COSIM - Coating Simulation
Jílek, Jan ; Kofroň, Jan (advisor) ; Malohlava, Michal (referee)
In the given coating chamber is a system of rotating holders, which holds rotating tools. The chamber also contains electrodes (of various materials), from which the material evaporates and is coating the tools. The goal of this thesis is to simulate the process of coating and visualize the resulting layer in given places of coated tools depending on their placement, number, rotation speed and other optional settings.
Gender and Media in the Age of Post-Modernity: Revealing Gender Stereotypes in the Contemporary Czech Advertising Discourse
Olbertová, Martina ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor) ; Nečas, Vlastimil (referee)
ENGLISH SUMMARY The main objective of this thesis was to provide a complex perspective on the mutual relationship of gender and media in the age of post-modernity with a special attention to the stereotypical gender portrayal presented to us by the contemporary Czech advertising discourse. We chose to demonstrate this problematics through the methods of semiotic analysis on the analytical sample of 5 advertisements (consisting of selected TV commercials) representing various aspects of stereotypical gender images appearing in the today's Czech advertising contents. We then subjected these selected advertisements to the analytical methods in pursuit of finding the answers to the questions related to the media image of men, women and our society that the stereotypical gender depictions contained in these advertisements help to construct. Although many of these advertisements appear to be openly sexist or even misogynic on the first sight, using the mechanisms of semiotic analysis we came to a rather opposite conclusion proposing the analyzed contents are rather pro-feminine tending toward an extensive masculine critique. This result, however, is based mainly on the mechanisms of oppositional reading of the subjected texts. On the other hand, it is presumable that the "average media consumer" not having access...

Určování parametrů temné energie a modifikované gravitace v rámci projektu LSST
Use of Experience Pedagogy and Theatrical Education in Geography Teaching
Barešová, Lenka ; Matějček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bartoš, Jan (referee)
The main objective of the thesies is to compare a frontal teaching method and teaching by simulation. Two comparable groups of students were taught the same topic by the two methods. The topic was focused on an uneven world development. Following assumptions were set. Simulation is a more attractive teaching form, therefore it can help to raise the motivation of students. Frontal method is capable of transmitting more information. Simulation, however, can have bigger impact on students' values. The impact of simulation has a long-term impact in comparison to frontal teaching. These assumptions were confirmed by qualitative and quantitative methods.
Signal transduction in olfactory sensory neurons of vertebrates and tools for the computer simulation
Beneš, Martin ; Zápotocký, Martin (advisor) ; Hejnová, Lucie (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is summing up the information about olfactory transduction of vertebrates. This review is divided into four parts, each part focuses on a different aspect of olfactory transduction. First there is an overview of basic electrophysiological methods used for transduction research, followed by a description of a complete transduction on a molecular level. Next is a summary of model types and their use in olfactory transduction simulation, including a detailed description of two models: One of them describes the beginning of olfactory transduction, from the odorant binding on the receptor to the cAMP production, the other deals with the negative feedback of Ca2+. Finally there is an overview of software products designed to create and analyze the models from the preceding section.
The Evolution of Football Strategies
Jiřička, Martin ; Holan, Tomáš (advisor) ; Neruda, Roman (referee)
The thesis describes a design of continuous simulation of simplified football match and it also describes an evolution, that offers to a user a chance to evolve a football team, that competes best in the simulation. Both simulation and evolution have been implemented as a program for Microsoft .NET Fra- mework. Program allows simple distributed computation of an evolution and also viewing a results and watching matches in 2D graphics. So that part of the thesis is dedicated to a description of how the program works and how to use it. In the end are mentioned some performed computations illustrating how the pro- gram could be used and a small analysis that shows on concrete evolution that the designed solution mights work. 1
