Diatková, Františka
The diploma thesis on the evaluation of the development potential of brownfields in the Moravian-Silesian Region, in the first part theoretically anchors the concept of brownfields, specifies the basic concepts and definitions, describes the formation of brownfields and all the possibilities of their division into categories. Furthermore, it introduces the basic concepts within the process of regeneration of areas defined as brownfields and presents important national regeneration strategies and describes the legislative framework within the Czech Republic and the European Union. The last theoretical part consists of the definition of the concept of development potential and the possibilities of its evaluation, according to the available Czech and international literature. The empirical part consists of data from publicly available databases of brownfields, supplemented by own research and localization of brownfields. These data are first statistically classified, the structure of existing brownfields is created, their frequency within the districts of the Moravian-Silesian Region, in terms of original use, future use, availability of infrastructure. In the practical part, the actual system of classification of brownfields according to development potential and the subsequent presentation of data according to this classification is not designed. In the conclusion of the thesis, the results of the evaluation of the development potential of brownfields in the study area are presented and recommendations for successful regeneration and development of the brownfields are presented.
Multiculturalism Policy in Canada: Exploring the Dispute with Québec through Framing Analysis.
Hrynuik Breedon, Hannah Mae ; Jelínková, Marie (advisor) ; Jusić, Mirna (referee)
Multiculturalism has been an official federal government policy in Canada since 1971 and is strongly associated with the country. However, from its inception, it has been met with strong criticism and opposition in the predominantly French-speaking province of Québec. While the long history of French-English conflicts in Canada has been explored, there is a paucity of comprehensive literature that focuses on the resurgence of this particular dispute in the last decade. This period includes Québec's adoption of several new, high profile, and controversial policies and laws that mark a rejection of the federal policy. To help fill this gap, and develop a more specific and contemporary description of this dispute, this paper uses frame analysis as a lens through which to examine a range of sources including news articles, government documents, press releases, speeches and interviews. Through this analysis six frames used by federal and provincial actors are identified and discussed: "Unique Cultural Preservation", "Québecois as Dominant Culture" and "Provincial Autonomy" on one side; and "Cultural Diversity and Pluralism", "Accommodation" and "National Unity" on the other. The findings reveal that the dispute is rooted in a historic struggle for power between the province and the federal government...

Mrňáková, Nicole ; Tsivos, Konstantinos (advisor) ; Klimeš, David (referee)
This thesis deals with the way how Czech newspaper reported about Greek debt crisis and which frames were used to illustrate Greece. In the theoretical part the history of Greece is described, since independence till the debt crisis. The historical context captures difficult times of Greek history which contributed to the spiral of dept crisis lasting from 2010 to 2018. In the following part some of the important concepts concerning agenda setting, gatekeeping and frame analysis are compared. Some of the important foreign studies concerning frame theory and even framing of the Greek debt crisis in Czech media are depicted. The methodology of the thesis is formed by a qualitative analysis of the articles from two peaks of the crisis - the first half of 2010 and the first half of 2015. In the first period the frames used by Czech media were predominantly following the German point of view and the point of view of the European creditors. Journalists only rarely reflected the real life of the Greeks which was quite different from the used stereotypes. The second period was marked by the world affairs like the immigration crisis or invasion to Ucraine and the sanctions against Russia. In many cases the framing of the crisis concentrated on the character of the Greek nation and its moral judgement as a...

Křížková, Hana ; Aslan, Emil (advisor) ; Hokovský, Radko (referee)
The diploma thesis "Salafi Jihadism in Germany: Radicalizing Messages in Lectures of a German Jihadi Preacher Denis Cuspert" deals with the analysis of the internet video messages disseminated by Denis Cuspert - the most significant German-speaking Jihadi-Salafi leader, in terms of the radicalization potential that is spread through his lectures. The aim of the thesis is firstly to identify the basic radicalization formulas relevant for the given research, which are to be found in the models of radicalization.
