This thesis focuses on the project method of primary school in lessons of English. I concerned myself with the development and the basic terms of the project method in the theoretical part of this work. I described pros and cons of this kind of teaching. I compared goals of the project method with the general goals of Czech public education which are enumerated in the new curriculum for primary teaching. I focused also on how the project method is used in present English textbooks at primary school. In the practical section of this work I created my own project and used it in the classroom.
