Ignaz Fr. Platzer's designs of sculptural for the church Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary in Teplá

This work deals with Platzers family, especially with Ignac Frantisek Platzer, from his workshop were preserved an incredible amount of sketches and drawing, for which has not been given sufficient attention so far. Out of a large number of masterpieces conserved in the National Gallery of Prague, will be processed just the part connected with monastery in Teplá where for the church Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary was made a complete sculptural decorations by his workshop. Catechists at Strahov in the 19th Century

Strahov Catechists of the 19th century This specific study contributes to knowledge of pastoral and catechetical practice in our country in the 19th century, illustrating it with concrete implementation of these activities in institutions related to the Premonstratensian monastery at Strahov, Prague. The theme is placed in broader context of explanation of development of pastoral theology and catechesis; it is also interpreted in relation to the entire development of the Premonstatensian order with regard to the history of their pastoral activities. These activities at schools at lower and higher levels is conceived in broader context of education in the examined period, both from the theoretic, and the practical point of view; therefore, the work give also a brief characteristics of the system of education and schools, and concentrates also on various aspects of the specific issue of religious education, including these activities at specialized schools. The chapter on catechesis and pastoral care in parishes is dedicated both to homiletic activities of Strahov Premonstratensians, and, particularly, to the issue of preparation for sacraments and pastoral care of specific groups, represented by fraternities. The Beginnings of Premonstratensian Order in Bohemia

The Beginnings of Premonstratensian Order in Bohemia. This thesis deals with the beginnings of Premonstratensian Order and their coming to Bohemia. At first, attention is devoted to the history which is briefly characterized by political, economic, and religious conditions in Bohemia in the first half of the twelfth century. The next chapter will take us through the life of St. Norbert, his conversion to Christianity, as well as the foundation and circumstances of the Premonstratensian Order. In this chapter, the Order's form of organisation, characteristics, and daily habits are also discussed. The subject of the fourth chapter is the establishment of the Premonstratensian Order in Bohemia. There are also discussed the persons who had the main credit for coming the Premonstratensian Order to Bohemia. It was their greatest admirer Jindrich Zdik, as well as the bishop Daniel and the provost of Steinfeld named Eberwin. The next section is dedicated to the description of the consequential creation of the first male and female monasteries in Bohemia such as Strahov, Doksany, Litomysl, Zeliv and Lounovice. There are also mentioned the first abbots and priors of these monasteries. In conclusion, there is a brief summary and evaluation of the contribution of the Premonstratensian Order.
Edition of selected correspondence of Bohuslav Balbín and Alois Hackenschmidt with a commentary and an introductory study

The thesis deals with the mutual correspondence (with its part from the years 16641667) of a Jesuit Bohuslav Balbín (16211688) and a Premonstratensian Johannes Alois Hackenschmidt (16261683), a canon of monastery of Teplá and a secretary of abbot Rajmund Wilfert (†1670). Preserved correspondence of that time consists of 41 Balbín's and 39 Hackenschmidt's letters. Hackenschmidt was sending information of the history of monasteries of Teplá and Chotěšov and transcripts and excerpts of charters found in archives of these monasteries; Balbín was informing Hackenschmidt about the past of the Lords of Guttenstein. The thesis brings information on the life of both correspondents, summarizes the content of their correspondence and comments on their relationship. Finally, eight Balbín's and six Hackenschmidt's letters, provided by a commentary, are edited in the final part of the work.

The work called Herman Joseph Tyl offers a total lack on the life of this important religious figure, the abbot of one of the oldest Norbertine monastery founded by Czech nobleman blessed Hroznata in Teplá, which experienced the suffering of two totalitarian regimes of the 20th century: Nazis in concentration camps and prisons in Communist labor and uranium camps, as well as various interventions in the persecution of his life in the form of withdrawal of government approval. The work is given to the period of his life, which has so far lacked the processing. This is particularly Tylova childhood, adolescence, studies and life after 1958, when he worked as a warehouseman at Cakovském collective farm and returned to the priesthood, which he re-intervention prevented Communist totalitarian power by removing state approval, to the end of his life again to priesthood returned and was even elected abbot of the monastery Tepla. The work also offers a historical and critical evaluation of the data known from the Tyl autobiography affecting in particular the period from his arrest by the Gestapo in 1942 until his release from prison and their communist completion in the light sources. Premonstratensian Education in the Czech Territory in the 19th Century

Premonstratensian Education in the Czech Territory in the 19th Century This specific study contributes to the knowledge of the Order in our territory in the course of the 19th century and it explores the activity of the Premonstratensian in the schools established by them. The topic is approached in the broader context of the education of the examined era. The study explains the characteristics of the schooling and education organisation system as well, focusing on the specific problematic of religious schooling and education from various points of view. As part of the argument, the Order of Canons Regular of Prémontré is described and an evaluation of its educational activities in the course of all the history of the Order is provided. A significant part of the study is dedicated to the Strahov Abbey and its educational facilities, especially to the schools that were restored or undertaken by the Order in the researched period. The conclusive part characterises other schools run by orders in the territories of Bohemia and Moravia.

Premonstrat order in Želiv in 40th and 50th years of 20th century

The thesis deals with the Želiv Premonstrate Monastery and the fates of its members in the 1940s and 1950s. The introduction briefly outlines the history of the monastery and the Premonstrate Order. The central part of the thesis deals with the Želiv Monastery as a whole. It describes economic measures that were introduced against it by the Communist regime. It also generally describes the preparations for cancelling monasteries and the progress of this action directly in Želiv. The third part deals with the fate of the Želiv abbot Bohumil Vít Tajovský as well as with the fates of other members of the Želiv Monastery who were oppressed by the Communist regime.

The Diploma Work deals with the history and development of Milevsko pastoral region. The Work has two parts. The first part deals with the history of invidual parochial Communities. It covers the era from the Communities formation, paying slight attention to preformation time, up to the second world war. The second part covers the time period from the second world war up to the year 1989. It deals with Milevsko pastoral region as the whole, its development is put in time context and individual events are linked to individual localities of the region. There are following parishes in Milevsko pastoral region: Milevsko, Nadějkov, Sepekov, Hodušín, Opařany, Květov, Lašovice, Kostelec nad Vltavou, Bernartice, Veselíčko, Stádlec, Rataje, Kovářov, Předbořice, Chyšky, Jistebnice and Klučenice.
