Changes in residential tourism in Spain, Finland and Czechia
Breza, Marián ; Fialová, Dana (advisor) ; Štolcová, Kristýna (referee)
Recreational apartment houses are considered a new trend of second homes, which started to fully develop in Czechia in the 1990s. The first houses appeared at the end of the 20th century in mountain resorts, such as in the Krkonoše Mountains or Šumava. Compared to traditional chalets and cottages, apartment houses are better furnished and offer greater comfort to the users. The aim of this paper is to evaluate and compare the development of residential tourism in Spain, Finland and Czechia (with a primary focus on recreational apartment houses). The question of the consequences of the global economic crisis (in the case of Spain and Czechia) and the covid-19 pandemic (in the case of Finland and Czechia) for residential tourism is discussed. The importance of apartment dwellings as one of the integral parts of unoccupied dwellings is discussed on the basis of graphical outputs. KEY WORDS residential tourism, recreational apartment house, new trends in second homes, economic crisis, pandemic covid-19, Krkonoše
Media Representation of Elderly in the Czech Press: Changes in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic
Folprechtová, Kamila ; Svobodová, Tereza (advisor) ; Jeřábek, Hynek (referee)
The bachelor thesis addresses the media representation of elderly in the Czech press and its transformation before, during, and "after" the COVID-19 pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic was a crucial period for the media representation of elderly, as seniors were identified as one of the most at-risk groups, age became the main determining variable of risk, and there was a great wave of ageism. The research was conducted using quantitative content analysis, and media articles (n=450) were manually coded. The chi-square test was used to evaluate statistical significance. The main finding is that in all periods, aging is associated more with negative sentiment, and during the pandemic, there were statistically significant changes in its representation. Older people were significantly less associated with positive sentiment during this period, and there was a considerable increase in ambivalent sentiment (positive and negative at the same time). During the pandemic, elderly were most associated with the theme of help and security, where seniors were portrayed as passive, sick, and incompetent, and therefore must rely on other active members of society. Stereotypical and distorted representation can lead to discrimination and marginalization of seniors, both during times of crisis and beyond, and therefore,...

Clients of Residential Youth Care at Risk of Dropout from Upper Secondary Education
Bílá, Pavlína ; Dvořák, Dominik (advisor) ; Straková, Jana (referee)
Early school leaving represents a serious problem in the European and recently also in the Czech context. The aim of this thesis is to research the dropout risks at clients of the Youth Diagnostic Facility using qualitative methods. The subject of the research is a group of six boys aged 15- 17 years. The goal of the research is to map the causes of educational issues through case studies and identify the reasons for dropout among the facility's clients; to explore the approach of schools and their staff to the education of these individuals; to describe the education conditions provided by the diagnostic facility; and to find out how the clients themselves see their education process and whether their attitude and approach to education changed during their stay at the facility. The results show that in some cases placement in a diagnostic or educational facility can increase, by providing suitable conditions, the chances of obtaining secondary education. KEYWORDS school dropout, early school leaving, upper secondary education, adolescent boys, residential care, COVID-19 pandemic
A comparison of teachers' attitudes towards qualitative and quantitative assessment before and after the Covid-19 pandemic
Výborná, Andrea ; Laufková, Veronika (advisor) ; Novotná, Kateřina (referee)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze a sample of 46 Czech first-grade pedagogues, whether there was a change in their perspective on verbal assessment after distance learning due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This work is divided into two parts. The introductory part of the first, theoretical part contains information from scientific publications regarding the concept of assessment in general, its functions, its types and forms. In the next part, the theoretical part deals with quantitative and qualitative assessment with an emphasis on their influence on the student's motivation. In the second, practical part, I compared the results of 2 researches carried out by me in the form of a questionnaire. One was implemented in 2020 and the second, enriched with 2 update questions, was implemented in 2023 on the same sample of respondents. The conclusion of the thesis contains the answer to the question posed at the beginning of my diploma thesis. From the data collected from my 46 respondents, it appears that educators' views on verbal assessment did not change significantly after distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, although there was a slightly more positive perception of verbal assessment.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation of patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19
HVOZDOVSKÁ, Kristýna
This bachelor thesis was focused on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation of patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19. Two objectives were set to map the practices of paramedics in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation during a Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Another intrinsic indicator was the multilevel risk assessment during the COVID-19 pandemic, which emphasizes increased caution and the use of possible personal protective equipment. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis was focused on the introduction to the issue of coronavirus disease, as well as on the performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The thesis further describes what precedes the circulatory arrest and from this then further interventions such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation are derived. The practical part of the study was conducted by qualitative research using the method of in-depth interviews with paramedics of the South Bohemia Region and the Vysočina Region. The interview included a total of 20 questions focused on the given issue. The research sample consisted of 13 respondents, 7 paramedics from the Vysočina Region and 6 paramedics from individual regional centres of the South Bohemian Region. The results were subsequently processed into eight categories and tabulated accordingly. The research part showed that the members of the individual Rescue Services have sufficient theoretical knowledge and also have enough practical experience in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation during the COVID-19 pandemic. I did not find any visible differences in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation between the regions, the answers of the respondents were almost identical. The research showed that it is not the geographical distribution that matters, but that the Ambulance Services follow clearly defined methodological procedures and take care of their own safety and the safety of patients. The research part showed that the members of the individual Rescue Services have sufficient theoretical knowledge and also have enough practical experience in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation during the COVID-19 pandemic. I did not find any visible differencesin the performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation between the regions, the answers of the respondents were almost identical. Only in terms of decontamination were there subtle differences in the disinfectants used. Research has shown that geographical distribution does not matter, but that emergency services follow clear methodological procedures, but do not pay much attention to their own safety with regard to COVID-19.

TOMANOVÁ, Jiřina
The topic of this bachelor´s thesis is the influence of COVID-19 pandemic on the lives of the elderly during lockdown, namely in regard to loneliness and disconnection with their families. The thesis documents how their family relations have changed, in what manner the goverment regulations influenced their lives and from what sources the seniors got information about the situation at the time. It also deals with how the contacts with their families have changed, who helped the seniors the most during the pandemic, what they needed help with the most and what caused them the biggest concerns. The thesis also looks at whether any feelings of sadness and loneliness befell them, and if so, what helped them overcome these conditions. The research was focused on seniors using a home care service or seniors living in a home care service house in Nová Bystřice. One of the goals of this thesis was to find out how the home care service helped to overcome loneliness and sadness and if there was anything that it hadn´t been able to provide that the clients would have appreciated receiving. The thesis evaluates seniors needs, their biggest worries and what is hard for them to cope with. It also evaluates how the home care service can contribute to solving sudden situations, which the COVID-19 pandemic surely was. For realisation of the research part, a qualitative type of research was used through the method of questioning and half-structured interview technique. The interviews were recorded then rewritten and coded with open coding. The target group were seniors using the home care service in Nová Bystřice. The knowledge gathered is then used to assess which services are crucial and how is it possible to improve the services offered.

ZEMAN, Jan
The key topic of this bachelor thesis is the analysis of the spatial organization intracontinental of the air transport in Africa in 2019 and 2020 when it was affected by the covid 19 pandemic. In the introductory part, the bachelor thesis is presented, the objectives of the thesis are set and also hypotheses that will be later confirmed or refuted. The introductory part is followed by the theoretical part where the theory of the air transport is introduced, concepts related to this mode of the transport in general and then concepts that are typical for transport in Africa. In the second part of the thesis is a transition from the theoretical to the analytical part. The analytical part has two subchapters, the first deals with the analysis of the domestic air transport in 2019 when it was not yet limited by the covid 19 pandemic. The second subchapter is 2020 when the covid 19 pandemic has already greatly affected air transport. The data for processing the analysis are from the ICAO - International Civil Aviation Organization database. Based on this data, intracontinental air transport was compared between 2019 and 2020 when the covid 19 pandemic was spreading.
