Translation of text "Volkswirtschaftslehre" from German into Czech

The main aim of the thesis is the comparison of the translation of a literary and a professional text whereas the first part of the thesis will be focused on the theory of the procedure of the translation. First, it will be mentioned the general procedure for the creating the translation, its three basic phases {--} comprehension, interpretation and stylistics of the original text followed by the explanation of each of these phases. The thesis draws on the main aim when translating and the functions of the translation. Moreover, the thesis deals with the difference between the work of an interpreter and a translator and mentions the qualities, abilities and knowledge which every translator and interpreter should have. A particular part is devoted to the comparison of the differences of the Czech language when translating from other foreign languages and the problems which are related to it. The second part of the thesis is devoted to the problematic of the translation of the professional text. It will be first of all focusing on the areas which cause the main problems when translating, such as f. e. the terminology of a specific area or the syntax. A part of this chapter is also the translation of a professional text from German into Czech language from the area of the national economy.

The aim of this thesis is a commented translation of a French text and its theoretical annotation. The source text was selected from the book À la table des seigneurs, des moines et des paysans du Moyen Âge, which deals with food in mediaeval France. The theoretical part of the work concerns the translation analysis of the source text and then it focuses on specific problems and particular proceedings of the translation. It also provides a typology of translation shifts.

The Bachelor thesis consists of two main parts - the first one is a translation of two chapters from a French publication called L'épopée du jazz. Du blues au bop, the second one presents a commentary of the translation. The source text ranks among popular science books dealing with the history of jazz music. The translation comprises the first and the fifth chapter of the source text describing the origins of jazz music and the style called bop. In the commentary, the source text is analysed from the textual and contextual point of view, and diverse problems of translation and their solutions are examined.

The aim of this Master Thesis is to provide the reader with an annotated literary translation of the book Palabras Envenenadas written by the Spanish author Maite Carranza. The first part of the thesis presents in total of 6 translated chapters of the novella Palabras Envenenadas. The second part focuses on presenting the information about the author and the style of the book as well as the role of the original and the translatated text in the source and target culture context, the development of the translation analysis and translation methods while discussing the translation problems and their solutions. The practical part contains the Czech translation of the introduction and the first three chapters of the Spanish parents' guide to autism Un niño con autismo en la familia, Guía básica para familias que han recibido un diagnóstico de autismo para su hijo o hija. The book published by The Institute on Community Integration (INICO) deals with difficulties of the inner acceptation of the diagnosis and provides basic information on autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The theoretical part includes the translation commentary where the aplied translation procedures, translation problems encoutered while translating and their solutions are discussed on the basis of the translation analysis of the original text.
