Bakalářská práce se skládá ze dvou hlavních částí - z překladu dvou kapitol francouzské publikace s názvem L'épopée du jazz. Du blues au bop a z komentáře překladu. Výchozí text podává populárně-naučnou formou dějiny jazzové hudby. Překlad sestává z první kapitoly publikace, jež pojednává o počátcích jazzu, a z páté kapitoly o stylu zvaném bop. V komentáři je zvolený text analyzován z hlediska textových a kontextových faktorů a jsou uváděny konkrétní překladatelské problémy a jejich řešení. The Bachelor thesis consists of two main parts - the first one is a translation of two chapters from a French publication called L'épopée du jazz. Du blues au bop, the second one presents a commentary of the translation. The source text ranks among popular science books dealing with the history of jazz music. The translation comprises the first and the fifth chapter of the source text describing the origins of jazz music and the style called bop. In the commentary, the source text is analysed from the textual and contextual point of view, and diverse problems of translation and their solutions are examined.
