"Wandering at a Fixed Spot"

My work called Wandering... is addressed to natural ways of Travelling. I relativised this therm and I complain it with the word Wandering. First of all I try to evocate wandering in mind. I use quite static images that contrasts with wide range of musical themes and sound effects.

Private deck of cards created during six-month survey and documentation of daily experiences. The package contains 49 cards and it is inspired by a set of 78 tarot cards. Text content - reverse side of the card was created using diary notes. Face side of the card was chosen as a representation of processes taking place usually in days when the card was read.
How secondary school pupils solve metric problems in 3D geometry

The aim of this thesis is to gain a deeper understanding of how high school students solve tasks in three-dimensional metric space. All of the selected tasks are solvable using similarity. Since this is not the only way to solve these problems, I also observe the procedures and strategies that students employ whilst solving them. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part I define the basic terms and deal with difficulties which might occur while solving the selected problems. I also describe the expected outcomes of stereometry teaching in curricular documents. In the practical part, I firstly analyse the way certain metric problems are solved in high school textbooks. Then I describe how I did my research, in which 12 students participated. As my method for conducting the research I chose to interview the students about their solutions to the selected tasks in order to obtain enough information about the challenges that the students have in solving these problems and to observe the strategies they use. In the closing section of this thesis, I summarize the procedures which high school students use to solve metric problems, as well as the difficulties that some students had. Reading as Psychotherapy and the Role of Imagination in the Work of Catherine Storr

The aim of the bachelor thesis is a detailed analysis of Marianne Dreams by Catherine Storr focusing on the psychological meaning and therapeutic role of children's literature. The theoretical part of the thesis connects the issues of fantasy literature and psychology with respect to the role of psychotherapy, which is related to the escape from the reality, liberation through imagination, as well as the topics such as time travel and dreams travel. Particular attention is paid to the personal, literary and professional experience of the writer and psychologist Catherine Storr. The literary analysis of the novel, which links reality with fantasy, deals with the following issues: the portraits of the child and adult characters, the relationships between children, the role of particular motifs (bicycle, one-eyed stones, grid, etc.) and themes (illness, liberation, etc.). The conclusion sums up the representation of traumatic experience, recovery and renewal, and the moral meaning of the story. The thesis includes a questionnaire research dealing with the parents reading to their children, inspired by Catherine Storr's ideas and related to the importance of passing literature to children. This online questionnaire is processed through graphs.
Ways of creativity development in elementary mathematics education

3 TITLE: Ways of creativity development in elementary mathematics education SUMMARY: This thesis deals with creativity - from a general concept to a more specific perspective - creativity in mathematics lessons and textbooks at elementary schools in relation to the curriculum method and transformation of a number of textbooks towards unique teaching methods. The aim of this thesis is to describe the current situation on a selected sample of experimental groups - elementary school classes (two of them second year and three of them fourth year) which specialize on integration of pupils with specific learning and behavioral disabilities as well as extraordinarily talented pupils and thus provide the broadest possible range of pupils, which enables to find possible links between the used methods and creative teaching approach including creating one's own teaching materials and consequently searching for possible ways to develop creativity of pupils in relation to used methods, textbooks, other materials and forms of work. This thesis uses the following research methods: quantitative and qualitative research, empirical methods - observation, description, analysis. Selection of several authors I am try to explain past and present trends in the children and children's authors book. Didactic part is mainly focuse on the status of the book in the context with art lessons and not only in the motivation part of the lesson, but also in topic of lesson. Both principles are use in the didactic project, which was built on the theoretical content of the work. Annotation: Kaločová, V.: Day dreaming /MA thesis/ Praga 2010 - The Charles University, Pedagogical Faculty, Department od Art Education This work studies the area of day dreaming in the context of general education as well as visual arts education. It views day dreaming mainly as a device to develop creative thinking, and highlights its contribution to and importance for education as well as for personal character development, pointing out also the negative sides. In this thesis day dreaming is defined within psychology, pedagogy and artphiletics in a way that could be inspiring and contributing for education. In visual arts, dreaming is stressed especially there where painting coincides with poetry, and where it opens doors leading to creation of new worlds between consciousness and unconsciousness. Furthermore, this work deals with so-called "artwork dreaming", as a preparatory phase of artworks. The main issue of the theoretical part is poetics of day dreaming, which, as well as this work, tries to develop personal courage for creative thinking. Poetic dreaming is viewed as the highest, which contrives to stimulate us, harmonizes our senses, and helps us dwell in this world. From Descates' Mind to Kant's Reason

The basic subject-matter of my research is R. Descartes' Meditations On First Philosophy and I examine the term intellect and its position within the mind and its relation to thought. My work includes a study of sensation and imagination which provide the intellect with "material" to judge. The objective of my thesis is to demonstrate the role the intellect plays in terms of reason and to present an interpretation of the way in which the mind is designated in relation to reason according to Rene Descartes in his writing and in his responses to objections. The position and functions of the intellect are understood as a logical structure of mutual dependence and as the elements essential for the understanding of the human soul substance. At the end of my thesis I demonstrate that the system of reason of R. Descartes might be considered as the basis for the transcendental conception of reason in Kant's philosophy, which leads to an idealistic world conception and is founded on thinking a priori. The role of the book in evolution of the children's imagination

The master thesis deals with the importance of the book in evolution of the children's imagination. The first part includes short introduction to problems of children's imagination. The second part is engaged in ontogeny of child from prenatal period to the middle childhood and in progress of key competences. It analyzes selected psychological approaches, which had the imagination as a subject of the research. The thesis explains and defines basic terms and processes of the imagination. It deals with a specific phenomenon of the children's imagination and with the evolution of the imagination. The third part introduces typical children's literature, directs on the traditional fairytale and it specifies problems of the literary characters too. It describes the historical development of the Czech book illustration, importance of the illustration in books for children and it also describes children's drawings. The fourth part applies all of previous pieces of knowledges into the work experience in kindergarten. It also describes relations between child and school or child and book. The final part of the master thesis includes summary of the information. [Author's abstract].
