Matoušová, Pavlína ; Hlaváčová, Lucie (advisor) ; Pavlasová, Lenka (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the comparison of two selected concepts of science teaching at primary school. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the classification of science as an educational field, explains the possible concepts of its teaching and compares the advantages and disadvantages of two selected variants with reference to the fulfilment of educational goals and respect for didactic principles of science teaching. The available materials suitable for teaching, the degree of their use and the comparison of teaching methods depending on the success in scientific testing are also outlined. The practical part of the work brings a comparison of the results of a questionnaire survey between individual groups of ecologically and science-taught pupils. Individual tasks and questions were created on the basis of established hypotheses. The results of the research bring a comparison of the knowledge and skills area, but also the area of students' attitude towards the subject. The established hypothesis was confirmed partially, the attitude section brings in results to the research questions. Students taught ecologically were indeed more successful in the task that led to the connection of knowledge and derivation from the relationships between organisms, but the differetence were not...

The research was carried out through didactical tests comparing the initial knowledge before the excursion (pretest) and acquired knowledge after the excursion (posttest). The didactical concept of the science excursion to Psárský forest was elaborated in accordance with the key aspects of the field biology didactics and based on complex evaluation of the fields of interest for the excursion planned to become a basis for the excursion contents and selection of suitable places for excursion activities. In addition to this, subsequent research via the attitude questionnaire to identify the excursions benefits within natural science education from...

Application of the Activating Teaching Methods in Biology at Lower Secondary Schools
Bugová, Tereza ; Hanel, Lubomír (advisor) ; Andreska, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with activation teaching methods used during biology classes at lower secondary school. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The first part deals with curricular documents and its relationships to activation methods, to a goal of elementary education and to a goal of activation teaching and above all to a characteristics of individual activation methods. The second part describes a selected topic of food chains. At the beginning, there is an enumeration of selected food chains from eight different environments. Furthermore, a suggestion for a teaching method, which complements the list of food chains, is presented here, as well as drawings of images, which have been created specifically for the purpose of the thesis. As a component of the second part of the thesis, there is an evaluation of a form, which has been presented to children electronically, since the suggested teaching method has not been practicable as a consequence of closed schools in the second half of the school year due to the coronavirus epidemic. The goal of this thesis is to prepare and to test a selected teaching class on the topic of a food chain and drawings of images, which might serve as a teaching material for current as well as future teachers. Comparison of the relationship of Czech and Finnish pupils to biology and its teaching
Poneszová, Viktorie ; Rajsiglová, Ina (advisor) ; Novotný, Petr (referee)
This diploma thesis concentrates on comparing the relationship of examined Czech and Finnish pupils to biology and its teaching. The study was written with a focus on the ninth graders (n = 373) of primary schools of Prague and Oulu. The aim of this work was to compare the relationship of Czech and Finnish pupils to biology and its teaching, respectively to find out how Czech and Finnish pupils approach biology, what contributed to pupils' interest in biology and which teaching activities contribute to more enjoyable biology lessons. The research tool was a questionnaire. The data were statistically evaluated and discussed in the context of Czech literature and English literature from Finland. The results show that Finnish pupils have more positive attitude to biology than Czech pupils. The most favourite biology topic of Czech and Finnish pupils is human body. Time spent in nature contributes the most to pupils' interest in biology. Czech pupils would appreciate more excursions in biology lessons. Finnish pupils would like teachers to teach topics that pupils suggested.
Analysis of the topic Human Origin and Evolution in the Textbooks and the Workbooks for Elementary School
Hoffmannová, Valérie ; Dvořáková, Radka (advisor) ; Chlebounová, Irena (referee)
(AJ) The main aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze the learning tasks related to the topic of the origin and development of the human species in textbooks and workbooks for the second grade of primary school. Textbooks and workbooks of biology and history were selected for analysis. The learning tasks were categorized into individual categories of Tollinger taxonomy and Bloom's original taxonomy. The results of this classification were used to compare older and newer editions of selected textbooks and workbooks. I also found out the difficulty of tasks in each publications. This analysis revealed that teaching tasks from lower taxonomic categories (for both taxonomies), which do not high demands of cognitive operations, are more represented. Furthermore, this work deals how extent the topic in individual publications. Further analyzes revealed that teaching tasks of the origin and development of human species are more represented in the textbooks and workbooks of history. The results of this work could help teachers to find way in the offer of available textbooks and workbooks and help select a suitable publication to teach the topic of the origin and development of the human species. Key words: analysis, biology, Bloom's taxonomy, history, human evolution, Tollinger's taxonomy, textbooks, workbook
Analysis of school education programmes of natural science for lower secondary education
Roreitnerová, Daniela ; Janštová, Vanda (advisor) ; Rajsiglová, Ina (referee)
8 Abstract About fifteen years ago, the Czech education system underwent a curricular reform. Thanks to that, schools have gained more freedom, but also responsibility how education will look in their case. The implementation of the reform was accompanied by various expectations but also by misunderstandings and problems. A revision of Framework Education Programme (FEP) is now planned. At the moment, however, it is not yet clear what will be the subject or the goals of this revision. This work aims to examine the current situation in the field of natural science and to subject selected school educational programs (SEP) to quantitative analysis. SEPs are understood here as one of the possible indicators of how some ideas from the Framework Educational Programs for Lower Education were conceived and developed by teachers. The thesis focuses mainly on areas that have been newly accentuated by the curricular reform. These are topics of key competences, interconnection of subjects (either within cross-curricular topics or interdisciplinary links through selected curriculum) and last but not least the topic of methods and forms of teaching and work with the content itself. All online SEPs of Prague lower secondary schools (plus ten unpublished on the school websites) were analyzed, taking into account only the...
The Popularity of Biology Lesson Topics at Lower Secondary School

At first, the thesis focuses on the system of curricular documents in the form of education programme (so called "RVP" and "ŠVP") for understanding the organization and content of teaching biology a primary school. At second, I have also focused on theoretical description of pupils' personality and its specifics at primary school which is crucial in order to understand their behaviour and characteristic attributes at their age. Furthermore, this thesis also explains the concepts of a subject popularity and pupils' motivation, then identifies and analyses existing domestic and foreign studies dealing with the same or similar topic. The popularity of individual topics of biology was investigate by means of a research tool in the form of a 5-level Likert type survey. The validity and reliability of the used research tool was verified. The research sample consists of 249 pupils from 6th...
