Parental leave in the Czech Republic: Men on parental leave

This work is about the parental leave in Czech Republic. It is focus on involvement man to the childcare and on the man on the parental leave. The first part will focus on the parental leave and how is using by women and men. Second part will focus on the men on parental leave and on the research, which was done on this topic. Third part will contain own research. It focus on the attitude and the perception of the men on parental leave by young adults (people aged about 18 - 30).
Mothers with intellectual disabilities

The thesis deals with the phenomenon of motherhood for women with intellectual disabilities. The first chapter of the thesis is devoted to the question of who are parents with intellectual disabilities and how their own personality influences their motherhood. The second chapter is concentrated on formal and informal sources of help that mothers with intellectual disabilities receive abroad. The third chapter aims to concentrate on existing system providing help to people with mental illness in the Czech Republic. The last part of the thesis presents a research project whose aim was to analyze the current situation of women-mothers with intellectual disabilities and understand how these women perceive their addressed motherhood and identify problems that women deal with during their pregnancy and motherhood. The research also describes what kind of support they receive. During the project was used a qualitative research which methods are presented by interviews. The research is based on analysis of interviews with four mothers with intellectual disabilities, which are further processed by using The Grounded Theory. Care placement agencies: professionalization of care in expert systems

During last couple of decades, the paid child care has become one of the central issues of feminist research. The agencies mediating child care are relatively the new actor in child care arrangements in the Czech Republic. This MA thesis argues that they not only fill the gap in the market by offering a child care. Above all, far from providing the simple supply that reacts to the demand on the market, the agencies create the demand for specific care. Drawing upon qualitative research conducted with owners of these agencies, the text looks into the ways how the child care is constructed. The analysis consists of two parts. In the first one the agencies are understood as expert systems generating specific trust. In the second part, the issues of qualified, specialized, and professionalized care are discussed. The thesis aims at showing that child care in the agencies is deconstructed as a natural female activity and is reconstructed as a gendered activity requiring particular skills that are submitted to professional screening.
Involvement of fathers in child care

This thesis deals with issue of involvement fathers in child care and their institutional support by the family policy of the Czech Republic - especially maternity, paternity and parental leave as arrangements allowing parents to harmonize work and family. The text is focused on forms of these arrangements with emphasis on the role of father, and their influence on the distribution of gender roles within family. The paper introduces the reader to the current setting of the Czech family policy. The text analyzes the reason why to promote active fatherhood and according to analysis of documents is pointed out to the general ways, which may lead to increase in the percentage of men taking a parental leave. After that the phenomenon of active fatherhood is situated into the context of the European Union and current trends in this area. The paper implies, that the current adjustments of family policy in the Czech Republic does not provide sufficient motivation for the fathers and highlights the key issues in this area. Based on the findings of expert interviews recommendations for the Czech Republic are formulated.
Comparison of Family Policy in the Czech Republic, Sweden and Italy in 2005 -2015

This bachelor thesis is focused on the comparison of family policy in the Czech Republic, Sweden and Italy. The thesis regards family policy in selected countries in terms of ability to secure families with children and harmonizing work and family life. Swedish family policy belongs to countries with generous system of social benefits and Sweden is a country with an active approach to family policy. System of family policy in the Czech Republic is still forming and as system of family policy in Italy is not very developed. The thesis analyzes specific direct and indirect instruments to families support and compares the extent of financial funds, which are designed for families with children.
Analysis of today's system of pre-school care in the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis deals with the current situation on childcare market in the Czech Republic, the legislative analysis and the conceptual side of case, the comparison of pre-school facilities and solution of insufficient capacity in nursery schools. Case study analyzing the offer of childcare in Jihlava in comparison with Prague 2 shows that private facilities in Prague cover a large part of demand and the price of tuition is up to three times higher compared to Jihlava. Lack of capacity in kindergarten will remain dominant for several years. A solution could be the legislative changes, reducing the number of postponement of compulsory school attendance, or the construction of modular nurseries.
Homeless mothers with children or how mothers care for their children in Caritas St. home. Dominic Savio for mothers with children

The work deals with homelessness, mothers with children. The first chapter contains a reflection of scientific literature points to the fact that the literature of the target group of mothers with children does not. The survey describes the maternal care of children when they found themselves homeless and social background, and must live in the home of Caritas St. Dominic Savio for mothers with children in Prachatice. The research compares the principles of good child care, determined on the basis of literature, the reality of maternal care in home of Caritas. The Criteria for research studies are divided into 8 areas to help identify how mothers care for children. Education and schooling, medical care, a system of rewards and punishments, daily routine, communication with children, leisure, eating and hygiene habits. The full research investigation showed that each user of the Caritas home is individual and unique case. In conclusion, the criteria of good care mothers met in different ways. Each user of had a different idea of raising and caring for their children. Although some mothers fail to meet specified criteria according to literature, were themselves convinced that they care for their children well. They did not realize that their care in any way neglected.

Mother Centres. Comparison of their Development in Germany and in the Czech Republic

The thesis deals with comparison of mother centers' development in Germany and in the Czech Republic. The first part defines mother centers, characterizes their principles and role in the society. In the next part the process of mother centers' establishment is described and problems which may occur. The main part of the thesis contains characterization of mother centers' development in Germany, where these centers were founded, and their development in the Czech Republic. A concrete example illustrates M-CENTER FOR YOUNG FAMILY in České Budějovice. German and Czech mother centers experienced similar progress and differ only in offers of activities. The last part of this work concentrates on the importance of mother centers for mothers, fathers, children and our society. Main benefit for mothers is the possibility to come out of isolation where they end up after their all-day-long care of babies. Mother centers significantly contribute to development of civil society.
