Education of seniors in U3V from the perspective of lecturers

The topic of this diploma thesis is the education of seniors within the universities of the third age at Charles University in Prague from the perspective of lecturers. The thesis deals with key aspects of this topic, from a theoretical and as well practical point of view. The main goal is to understand the process of senior`s education and how it is perceived by the lecturers. The thesis describes their acquired experiences, the possibilities of developing the education of seniors and the perceived barriers in the education of this population at U3A as part of lifelong learning. The theoretical part of the thesis serves as a basic framework for understanding the issue of education for seniors. It uses professional literature to define key terms and concepts. The attention is placed on the importance of lifelong learning for seniors and on the specifics of the educational process in this context. Other chapters are focused on the lecturers themselves in connection with the didactic process and psychodidactics. They deal with the personality of the lecturer, his role and his competences. 1 ABSTRACT The topic of the thesis is the education of seniors within the U3V at Charles University from the point of view of lecturers. The thesis describes her acquired experience, possibilities and perceived barriers in the education of this population at U3V as part of lifelong learning. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part defines the basic terms with the help of professional literature. It discusses the importance of learning for the elderly population and the specifics of this educational process. Other chapters are focused on the lecturers themselves in connection with the didactic process psychodidactics. They deal with the personalities of the lecturer, his role and his competences. The theoretical part is supplemented with data on the development of U3V at Charles University. Motivation for scout education and and its impact on the lives of adult leaders

This thesis focuses on scout education and its benefits for adult scout leaders. In the theoretical part, the theoretical basis is first mentioned, focusing on the concept of lifelong learning, the inclusion of scout education in this concept and the motivation for adult education. Next, the characteristics and the history of world and czech scouting are described, followed by the principles of scouting, age categories and the scout educational method, which introduce the way of educational work in czech scout. Subsequently, the theoretical part mentions the Junák - český skaut organization, the education that is implemented within this organization and is essential for the research part of this thesis. The main aim of the research part is to identify the impact of educational courses on the life of a scout leader and to describe how educational courses are handled in different scout teams. This bachelor thesis is focused on formal education of adults, mainly on motivation of adults for returning to formal education system. It contains basic terms and definitions (lifelong learning, adult person, adult education, formal education, motivation and barriers) using professional literature of Czech and foreigner authors. The thesis brings overview of possibilities that adults have on all educational system levels. Also it describes the barriers that the adults have to face when they are interested in continuing education. The thesis includes quantitative empirical survey carried out in the form of a poll, collected data were analyzed and commented. The survey presents specific kinds of adult during continuing formal education. Corporate education and its relationship to mobilty and motivation

Bachelor thesis concerns with corporate education and in its context concerns also with mobility in company and motivation to education. The thesis elaborates wider background to this topic, which is seen in the relationship of work and knowledge. The development, which it follows, is culminating in facts, which some theorists identify as aspects of the knowledge society. Corporate education is understood as a part of lifelong learning and its basic characteristics are described. The thesis also briefly describes the issues of mobility of workers in the company and their motivation for corporate education. The author used this background as a basis for practical research carried out in the technical section of airline, which examined the attitudes of its staff to issue of the thesis. The research is focused on the business aviation sector, which provides specific conditions for worker mobility, and for the motivation for learning. The selected airline was chosen because of its size and broadly conducted corporate education. The research shows that employees perceive their corporate education positively, but that they do not see it as a good instrument for mobility in company.
