Lenka Petrželková Department: Psychology Supervisor: PhDr. Anna Frombergerová, Ph.D. Abstract: This thesis focuses on the use of mobile apps to promote mental health by university students. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the difficulties that university students have in accessing these apps, the positive and negative aspects they perceive about the apps and the reasons that lead students to uninstall the app or not to continue using it. The theoretical section includes chapters on the development and classification of apps, the approaches used within apps, and maps the effectiveness of these apps, their benefits, and their limitations, including ethical limitations. Within the theoretical part, specific applications are also presented and analysed, which are then the focus of the empirical part of the thesis. One of the chapters is devoted to the mental health of university students. The empirical part used a mixed research design that included two research methods, namely questionnaire and interview. Descriptive analysis was used to evaluate the quantitative data, while thematic analysis was used to analyze the interviews. Jana Pluhaříková Pomajzlová Název bakalářské práce: Využití prvků senzorické modulace v ergoterapii v oblasti péče o duševní zdraví Abstrakt bakalářské práce: Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá konceptem senzorické modulace a možnostmi využití těchto prvků v ergoterapii v oblasti péče o duševní zdraví. Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce je přiblížit terapeutický koncept senzorické modulace a zjistit, jaké jsou možnosti jeho využití v ergoterapii v oblasti péče o duševní zdraví. Dílčí cíle této práce jsou: Přeložení Senzorického profilu (Adolescent/Adult Sensory Profile) metodou jednosměrného překladu z anglického jazyka do českého a jeho následné využití v rámci kazuistik; Formou kazuistik ukázat možnosti individuální práce ergoterapeuta s lidmi s duševním onemocněním v komunitní péči; Vytvoření pracovních listů pro edukaci a management symptomů. Evaluation of the benefits of the primary prevention program Nevypusť duši for its participants

The diploma thesis focuses on the evaluation of the primary preventive programme Duševní zdravověda, which deals with mental health issues and is implemented in secondary schools. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the effectiveness and benefit of this programme for its participants. Another aim was also to find out if variables such as gender, age and experience with mental illness of the respondents can influence their attitudes towards mental health. In the theoretical part of the thesis are defined mental health and illness, primary prevention and the current state of school primary prevention in the field of mental health are also defined. Also identified are protective factors that primary prevention programs dealing with mental health should support. Principles of effective primary prevention programmes and examples of proven mental health prevention programmes are presented. The preventive programme Duševní zdravověda and the non-profit organization Nevypusť duši, which implements it, are described here. The research group consist of 1898 respondents (1655 respondents from the experimental group and 243 from the control group). Experience of peer workers in the field of mental health care

The aim of our thesis is to describe and gain the best possible understanding of the experience of peer consultants in the field of mental health care. Additionally, it involves identifying essential phenomena that may arise during their mentioned experiences and carry stimuli suitable for further analysis. For these reasons, we chose a qualitative approach in conducting our research. Specifically, we opted for Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis, which allows for a detailed focus on the form of experience of individual respondents and its nuances. The respondents consisted of three adult women and two adult men aged between 26 and 56. Each of them is employed as a peer consultant in either health or social services. We gathered data through semi- structured interviews, analyzing it on two levels. Firstly, we outlined and analyzed the experience of each respondent and its specific details. Secondly, we conducted an analysis of the themes that were common among the respondents, yet held analytical potential in relation to the studied phenomenon. Social networks and youth mental health care

Perceiving the world from the perspective of the present and adapting to it represents the continuum of life. The aim of the graduate thesis is to analyse the mainly communicated topics on mental health on selected social networks and to examine social networks from the point of view of e-social work. The theoretical part characterizes social networks in general, discusses the relationship of social networks with mental health problems of young people and individually discusses the pitfalls that the use of social networks brings with it. Furthermore, the research offers insight into the characteristics of young people's mental health problems, deals with them from a contemporary perspective, and connects them with the specific social networks. The subchapter of social work determines need of e-social work and its possibilities. The end of the theoretical part looks at social identity and the need for community in the life of adolescence. Influence of birth order on a person with a focus on middle children

Family represents one of the key environmental factors significantly influencing individuals. Previous studies have shown that the way a person is influenced within this environment i also determined by the role they occupy within the family. One of the related factors can be, among others, the birth order. It may play a role in shaping personality trats among siblings and influencing their life attitudes. For a better understanding of the effects of birth order, this work first addresses the differences between siblings from an evolutionary and ecological perspective, identifies the main factors influencing the birth order effect, and describes the tge characteristics of each specific birth order type. The work provides insights into the issue of birth order's influence, with particular focus on middle-born children, in relation to their personality, sexual behavior, and psychological specificities of middleborns. Research has shown that birth order has a significant effect on middle-born children, particularly in the areas of prosocial behavior, sexual strategy, and manifestations of self- harming or suicidal behavior. Framing of mental illness in selected Czech media

This thesis focuses on the framing of mental illness in the Czech media. It defines the concept of framing and presents the characteristics, process and effects of framing. Simultaneously, the thesis discusses the concept of mental illness and its categorisation in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10). The focus is on the state of mental illness in the Czech Republic. Subsequently, prominent research papers dealing with the framing of mental illness are presented. The aim of the quantitative content analysis of this thesis is to find out how Czech daily newspapers framed mental illness in the years 2018, 2020, 2022. The analysis focuses on which illnesses are mentioned, how the mentally ill are presented, how the media frame the causes and solutions of mental illness, and which sources journalists quote. The results show that stigmatising stories are the most common and that journalists tend to use episodic framing. The most cited illnesses were depression and drug addiction, and very often journalists did not specify the exact diagnosis at all.
