Purchartová, Dana ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Reckziegelová, Petra (referee)
Title: The Impact of Alcohol Consumption on Gross and Fine Motor Skills of Individuals Objectives of the thesis: The main objective of my thesis is to assess an immediate effect of alcohol on selected tasks from the area of fine and gross motor skills. First identified were the average values for selected tests in sober individuals, and then the values with an increasing level of alcohol in blood. The second objective is to differentiate whether or not are fine and gross motor skills affected upon the same alcohol level in blood. Methods: The required data were obtained on the basis of experimental measurements on 12 probands (6 women and 6 men) who were tested for fine motor skills using three non- standardized tests modified or created for the purpose of this experiment: threading beads on a string, unlocking locks and dropping coins to a moneybox. Gross motor skills were tested using stabilometric platform in a standing position with legs together and with open eyes for 30 seconds. The observed parameter in the fine motor skills test was the time, while in the stability test it was the track of COP; each fine motor skills test was performed three times in each round. In the second and in each subsequent round every proband was administered 0.3 g of alcohol per kg of weight. The total number of...

Author: Kateřina Sýkorová Title: The effect of an activation program on the self-sufficiency of seniors in a nursing home Objectives: The main objective of the work was to find out whether, after the program, there will be an improvement in self-sufficiency in a group of probands from a nursing home. Methods: The study involved a group of 5 participants from a senior care home, ranging in age from 70 to 90. The group consisted of one male and four female participants. Each participant was engaged in individual exercise lessons focused on the development of fine motor skills, dexterity, and development of sensorimotor functions for 8 weeks (1 lesson per week). The Moberg Pick-Up Test was used to assess the functions mentioned above before and after the intervention. The test was carried out four times with each participant; twice on both the dominant and non-dominant hand, once with visual control and the second time without visual control. Furthermore, after the intervention the participants subjectively evaluated the change in their self-sufficiency using a questionnaire. Results: From the results of the Moberg-Pick Up Test suggest that there was an improvement in 8 out of 16 measurements of fine motor skills. Two participants showed improvement in speed by more than 10 % multiple times....

OF THE DIPLOMA THESIS Author: Barbora Nováková Thesis supervizor: Mgr. Kateřina Vondrová Title: The Influence of Vocation on Dexterity in Healthy Adults Abstract: Restoring the ability to work is crucial for adult rehabilitation. Vocational rehabilitation supports individuals in obtaining and maintaining employment. Many job tasks require the use of upper extremities. As part of prevocational assessment, occupational therapists evaluate upper extremity functions using the standardized Purdue Pegboard Test (PPT). This thesis aimed to explore the causal relationship between the characteristics of adult employment and their performance in the PPT. It focused on three main areas: the influence of occupation, weekly working hours, and current employment duration on the PPT. A total of 266 subjects completed a questionnaire and were tested using the Czech extended version of the PPT manual. The tested population consisted of 70 % women and 30 % men, aged 20 to 64, with 250 employed subjects. The data were analysed using box plots. The influence of occupation on the PPT performance was examined by categorizing subjects into professional fields based on the National Classification of Occupations based on the questionnaire. No statistically significant difference in PPT results was found between the...

Title: Visual motor coordination training for preschool children Objectives: To create and implement 3-month program Owl and subsequently evaluate its impact on school maturity, visual attention and final motor skills in preschool children. Methods: Mixed research in the form of a quasi-experiment was realized on a group of 26 children aged 5-7 years from kindergarten in Prague, divided into an intervention (n=13) and comparative (np=13) group. Intervention in the intervention group consisted of participation in 10-20 minutes sessions once a week, focused on visuomotor coordination: eye gymnastics followed by rhymes, elements from the Feldenkrais method, games and exercises focused on attention and eye-hand coordination. These exercises were then repeated 2-3 times a week with the teachers. Data collection was done in the form of an initial anamnestic questionnaire and a pre/post-test containing: MABC-2 part of manual dexterity, School maturity orientation test and Visual attention test. Finally, a feedback questionnaire was given to the teachers of the intervention class in the kindergarten. Data were processed by program Statistica and Microsoft Excel. Results: After the programme, the intervention group improved statistically significantly in visual attention but not in fine motor skills and...
Vliv fyzioterapie na rozvoj jemné motoriky ruky u pacientů s revmatoidní artritidou
MACHYNIAKOVÁ, Šárka
The subject of this thesis is mainly description of rheumatoid arthritis and physiotherapeutic possibilities of precisely developing hand motoring. The first objective was to describe the current possibilities of physiotherapy in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, which were appropriately applied based on individual kinesiological analyses. Second goal was to build an effective exercise unit for developing fine motor skills in the hands area, based on objective and subjective information obtained from probands at the time of the research. This thesis is divided into two parts. The first theoretical part described the disease itself, epidemiology, etiopathogenesis, clinical picture, elemental examination diagnosis, and detailed description of known types of therapy. Finally, I briefly described the anatomy and kinesiology of the upper limb plait. The second practical part I processed in the form of qualitative research. The research sample contained one man and two women aged 79 to 89. For all probands, I performed an initial kinesiological analysis, grip evaluation, and testing according to Jebsen - Taylor test. Based on the information gathered, I have set short-term goals and chosen appropriate physiotherapy methods to achieve these set goals. The practical part took place over three months. During this time, I visited patients once a week and adjusted the therapy as necessary. Finally, I performed an output kinesiological analysis, the results of which I compared with the input kinesiological analysis and performed an evaluation. Probands were advised to continue therapy by fulfilling the goals of the long-term rehabilitation plan. The information found indicates that regular therapy with appropriate exercise has a positive effect especially on increasing shoulder joint ranges, improving hand handling, pain relief, and overall psychological improvement of probands. This thesis can be used as educational material for healthcare professionals, medical students, the public, and especially for the sick or their loved ones.

Hradilová, Johana ; Vondrová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Shejbalová, Klára (referee)
Title: Videomanual for the Administration of the Nine-Hole Peg Test according to the Czech Extended Version of the Manual for the Nine Hole Peg Test (NHPT) Abstract: Fine motor skills are a complex motor function for humans, thanks to which a person can participate in social and working life. This important function can be impaired by various diseases, traumatic injuries or degeneration. As part of comprehensive rehabilitation, an occupational therapist is a specialist who provides effective treatment. Occupational therapist uses standardized tests to evaluate the development of fine motor skills during treatment. These tests focus on various aspects of fine motor skills such as: muscle strength, range of motion, dexterity, manipulation and grip strength. The Nine Hole Peg Test assesses all of these aspects and is a very sensitive tool for evaluating treatment. Proper administration is essential for standardized tests, which should be performed exactly as instructed. For the Nine Hole Peg Test, an expanded Czech version of the NHPT manual was published in 2021, which contains new rules on how to proceed and evaluate situations arising during testing that did not have a uniform published solution in previous publications. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to create a videomanual for the administration of...
