Packaging Technologies as a Topic of Integrated Thematic Instruction at Secondary School

Bachelor thesis focuses on packaging materials as a widely discussed environmental topic. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with basic information about packaging materials of different types, especially plastics. It includes information on the history, production, use, recycling, as well as the high presence of packaging materials in nature. In the second section of the theoritical part, the thesis focuses on the characteristics of Integrated Thematic Lessons, on the analysis of the Framework Educational Programmes for elementary education and gymnasiums and, last but not least, on the analysis of School Educational Programmes of selected schools. The part of the practical part of the bachelor thesis is a learning module based on Integrated Thematic Lessons called "Packaging Materials". It contains a summary of information on individual packaging materials and a proposal of activities aimed at ensuring the activation of pupils to obtain knowledge, skills and attitudes in the area. The developed learning module was reviewed by five teachers with different educational backgrounds, years of teaching experience and experience with project weeks. Development of the Initial Reading Literacy in ITV (Integrated Thematical Content)

The diploma thesis deals with development of the initial reading literacy in integrated thematical content (ITC). In the theoretical part, attention is paid to initial education, its definition, methods of teaching reading, organizational forms and evaluation. The thesis briefly describes the development of integrated thematic teaching, explains its concept and important components, and it also describes the use of this teaching technique in the 1st grade of primary schools, especially in the first years of studies. Another part of the work is focused on the personality of the pupil of younger primary school age, on his cognitive and social prerequisites for successful entry into school. The research part is implemented through several methods, where I tried to obtain a wider range of data for the use of integrated thematic teaching in the development of initial reading literacy. The observation of teaching brings insight into the practical use of this teaching model, the experiences of teachers are determined by a questionnaire survey and the knowledge and skills of three groups of pupils are investigated by a research probe, where during data processing I compare the level of partial levels of initial reading literacy in the monitored group with ITC with two control groups, which they do not...

Integrated Thematic Instruction in The Step by Step educational programme

My theses called "Intergrated thematic instruction" in the "Step by Step programme" describes, analyses and evaluates the usage of Integrated Thematic Instruction (ITI) on the 1st level of the primary school. ITI is considered like one of the possibilities of the realisation of the educational content which is delimited by General Educational Programme which broad interpretation offers to this realisation. My theses is devided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the analysis of the educational content in regard with the schoolwork integration. Besides the integration itself, my theses also deals with thematic teaching and integrated thematic teaching in curriculated documents. My theses also refers to integrated thematic teaching in modification of the "Step by Step programme" and tries to limit ITI in the project teaching background. The integral component of the theoretical part is also a part devoted to the key competences and their acquisition. I focus on the components monitoring of the brain compatible environment during the real practical teaching in the "Step by Step programme". Topics of the cycle of the year in education at primary school

The diploma thesis Topics of the cycle of the year in education at primary school deals with monitoring of the work of two primary school teachers who integrate the topic of annual cycle into their teaching methods. The theoretical part of the thesis provides a brief historical overview of how the theme of nature and society developed as a part of the primary school curriculum from the Middle Ages up to the present time. It introduces the term annual cycle in connection with the layers of the year and the passage of time, with its cyclicity and linearity. It conveys to the reader the characteristics of the developmental specifics of a student at primary school. It describes didactic procedures and methods suitable for mediating topics reflecting the annual cycle, such as the Step by step curriculum, integrated thematic teaching or project teaching. The empirical part presents qualitative research focusing on the usage of the topics related to the annual cycle in primary school teaching. Mining and Minting in Kutna Hora as a Topic of Integrated Thematic Instruction in History Education in Secondary Schools

The diploma thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is devoted to the concept of integrated thematic teaching, the history of silver ore mining and coinage in Kutná Hora. The practical part presents the integrated thematic education for pupils of the secondary school, which was verified in practice at secondary school in Suchdol. The mining of silver ore and silver coinage in Kutná Hora was explained theoretically and practically to pupils. Pupils worked with school historical sources and literature relevant to the subject. Part of the practical part was a field trip to the Italian Court in Kutná Hora. In the teaching were used methods, which support brain-compatible learning according to the concept of integrated thematic teaching (for example an interview, a group work, a photography, a brainstorming, etc.). Part of the diploma thesis is also evaluation of the practical implementation of the proposal. There are reviewed not only the benefits but also the pitfalls of integrated thematic lessons.

Conceptual Integrated Approach to Teaching about Cold War at the Upper-secondary School

The thesis titled A Conceptual Integrated Approach to Teaching about the Cold War at the Upper-secondary School presents the topic of the Cold War as a subject matter for an educational project implemented into History lessons at a selected Prague upper-secondary school. The thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is a summary of the information available in scholarly literature. It contains a detailed presentation of integrated thematic teaching which is based on understanding of the human brain operation (brain- compatible teaching). Furthermore, theoretical starting point is introduced as well as the method used to present the topic. The practical part explores how background material was collected (description of situation, problem, conditions, and development of project). It also presents the analysis and interpreting of background material. Next, the results of the project are stated, together with its problems and imperfections. The practical part is supplemented with the application of the project. It outlines other ways integrated thematic teaching can be used in education.

The aim of the thesis is to map the method of integrated thematic education. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part, the method of integrated thematic education and its usage is to be explained. The aim of the practical part is to find out the experience with implementing this method at the Mateřská, Základní a Praktická škola (Nursery, Elementary and Special school) Štítného 3 in České Budějovice detached in Husova 9 in cooperation with the Střední zdravotnická škola (Medical High school) Husova 3 in České Budějovice. A research probe will be carried out in the form of questionnaires for the students and teachers of the above mentioned special school.
