Mental alchemy
Nováková, Bára ; Vaňous,, Petr (referee) ; Mikyta, Svätopluk (advisor)
The thesis consists of several approaches to the process of visual image creation itself. The approaches vary based on four different experiences, with lived reality. Each of the four stages has its own rules for approaching the image. Each approach includes a different treatment of formats and techniques. Overall, the thesis includes the following media: oil painting on canvas, pencil, crayon, charcoal and pastel drawing on paper, and printmaking (drypoint) on paper. The formats range from approximately 15 × 21 cm to 250 × 200 cm. The main aim of the thesis is to show the different approaches and energies that lead to different starting points for the creation of a visual image. The thesis is therefore a personal search and a detective investigation into what the ideal image should be. What form should the image take? What energy should be brought into the image? What exactly are we mirroring in the image?
Professional and Laic Conception of Creating
Řehořová, Anna ; Kafková, Helena (advisor) ; Kitzbergerová, Leonora (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the concept of creation between lay and professional craftsmen. The key focus is to find and compare how they perceive the concept of craft, craftsman, professional and layman. The theoretical part focuses on the explanation of concepts, the history of craft, its decline, but also how folk craft is perceived nowadays. The developmental stages of the child and his drawings are outlined, as well as position of craft in education. The practical part is processed using the qualitative method of interviews. Six interviews were conducted. Three with professional craftsmen and three with laymen. After all the interviews, they were subsequently transcribed and analyzed using open coding. Codes were put into groups and compared with each other. The results of the analysis indicates different conception of craft between a group of professionals and laymen, which is discussed in more detail at the end of the practical part.
Contemporary art in kindergarten
Turečková, Zuzana ; Kitzbergerová, Leonora (advisor) ; Pfeiffer, Jan (referee)
The purpose of the thesis is to describe how common objects are used in contemporary art and consequently in art classes for children in the kindergarten. The theoretical part of the paper outlines the importance of creativity in education, introduces art activities boosting development of creativity and describes what makes projects such an outstanding learning tool. The last chapter overviews contemporary Czech artists whose assortment of creative courses and methods has been used as inspiration for various art assignments in the practical part of the paper. The practical part of the paper is in the form of a project designed for a particular kindergarten. Photo documentation and the author's pedagogic reflection of the applied activities are enclosed.
Art as a starting point in the process of a class educational program for preschool children
Němcová, Jana ; Kafková, Helena (advisor) ; Novotná, Magdalena (referee)
Name Art as a starting point in the process of a class educational program for preschool children Abstract This work in its theoretical part specifies the definition of art education, work and art techniques at kindergartens. It describes both the historical and the current ideas on changes of art creation of pre-school children. It goes into the solutions, competency, preparations and the actual creation of a class curriculum for pre-school children at contemporary kindergartens. The empirical part describes experience of my colleagues in the creation of a class curriculum with a focus on the global view, motivation and integrated programmes. The practical part illustrates the class curriculum based on a year-round project which comes out of art activities. There is a motivational theme that goes through the whole project and motivates children in other spheres of education as well. There is an offer of activities and a close relation to other subjects which are based on the art creation of children or lead to the creation by art works. The whole project culminates with a theatre performance which is made by children themselves. Key Words Art activities, pre-school age, class educational program, pre-school education, art techniques, art, kindergarten, fairy tale, educational conception,...
Psychological Aspects of Decision Making in Creative Art Process
Holub, Tomáš ; Bahbouh, Radvan (advisor) ; Šípek, Jiří (referee)
(in English) The thesis explores decision making in creative artistic process in adults. The aim of this study is to determine what and how the adults reflect during an art activity and its aftermath, as well as what other phenomena occur in the creative process. The theoretical part is divided into four parts. The first section deals with decision making - the terminology and the three theories of intuitive decision making. The second part presents basic knowledge about creativity. The third part deals with the creative process and its models. The fourth one describes two methods used in the research. The empirical part consists of qualitative and quantitative research. The qualitative research was conducted using a semi-structured interview with 14 adults, who drew on stimulus matrix - scribbling, which was created for this purpose. The objective of the qualitative research was to map the decision making in the given activity. The purpose of the quantitative research was to compare the used scribbling method with the Torrance Figural Test of Creative Thinking. The results of both surveys are described in detail and discussed with the available literature. The conclusion of the thesis offers recommendations on the use of the collected data and possible further research on this topic. Klíčová slova...
Art Therapeutic View on Lower Secondary Pupils Graphic Activities in the Term of the Art Expression Crisis Managing
BREJCHOVÁ, Jitka
This bachelor thesis aims at exploration of the area of adolescent creative art. Theoretical part brings forth the detailed description of adolescence period of individuals in their psychosocial and biological development. Artistic development is specified in accordance with the stages of Viktor Löwenfeld. Artetherapeutical symbolism and its impact principles are characterized. Practical part analyses the research sample of artistic expression of students in the age 11-15 years. The artistic period of overcoming the crisis is analyzed, compared and classified according to its form and content. Artetherapeutical view completes the image of an individual in his/her important life stage.
Creative Processes in Advertising Agencies
Řebíček, Jan ; Vondra, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Troják, Adam (referee)
Author in this design-thinking based thesis examines the role and procedure of creative teams participating in the production of one of the main parts of marketing communication - the creative concept. The key output of this thesis is the assessment of optimal creative process hypothesis based on connecting both the procedural and creative view of marketing communication. In order to assess the hypothesis, qualitative research based on modelling processes and use of design techniques was conducted. The placement of creative process into advertising agency environment is based on multimedia communication dissertation. Double Diamond Process, a part of Human Centered Design methodics, was complemented by Gamestorming method to illustrate the creative process. The form of optimal creative process hypothesis is verified by dialogues with Creative Directors of various advertising agencies. As mentioned, the primary contribution of this thesis is the assessment of optimal creative process. Achieving this contribution would not be possible without connecting procedural view of marketing communication with the creative point of view and without identifying the crucial requirements which have to be met to allow the whole process to be successful. First, the thesis describes marketing communication by using the communication model, which enables clear definition of the creative team goal. That is to encode producer need into a message that will change the behaviour of their target audience. Then, the thesis follows the contract advancement through advertising agency to establish the creative team role and to assess the optimal creative process hypothesis. The hypothesis is adjusted according to findings from dialogues with creative directors near the conclusion of the thesis.

Inspiration-triggered search: Towards higher complexities by mimicking creative processes
Rybář, Milan ; Hamann, Heiko (advisor) ; Majerech, Vladan (referee)
The trap of local optima is one of the main challenges of stochastic optimization methods from machine learning. The aim of this thesis is to develop an optimization algorithm that is inspired by users interacting with Picbreeder, which is an online service that allows users to collaboratively evolve images via an artificial evolution. The idea is that their behaviours depict creative processes. We propose a general framework on the top of a common optimization technique called inspiration-triggered search, which mimics these processes. Instead of a fixed objective function the search algorithm is free to change the objective within certain constraints. The overall optimization task is to generate complex artefacts that cannot be generated by a greedy and direct optimization approach. The proposed method is tested in the domain of images, that is to find complex and aesthetically pleasant images for humans, and compared with the direct optimization.
