Effect of coating on fracture behaviour of ceramic foams under tensile loading
Řehořek, Lukáš ; Dlouhý, Ivo ; Chlup, Zdeněk
Cellular structures are promising type of architecture for a lot of materials whether made of metals, plastic or ceramic. Target applications are those where lightweight, damping and and/or stiff properties are required. With combination of different kinds of materials the foamed composites with favourable mechanical properties can be developed. In case of ceramic foams the main disadvantage – brittleness – can be reduced. For straight forward application of this materials all types of mechanical properties have to be known. The tensile properties of open cell ceramic foam material based on alumina coated by various materials are presented in this paper.
Microscopic and structural characterization of high velocity oxygen-flue and atmospheric plasma sprayed coatings
Murafa, Nataliya ; Štengl, Václav ; Ctibor, Pavel ; Houšková, Vendula
TiO2 nano-powders were agglomerated by a spray drying process for applying to thermal spraying High Velocity Oxygen-Fuel (HVOF) and Atmospheric Plasma Spraying (APS) were used to deposit porous partially nanostructured TiO2 coatings Steel substrate was used for a coatings spraying Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and X-Ray diffraction were performed to study the morphology and the crystalline phases of the titania coatings
Povrchové a mechanické vlastnosti organicko/anorganických nanokompositních nátěrů
Špírková, Milena ; Bláhová, O. ; Farkačová, T. ; Benešová, J.
Surface hardness of transparent colorless epoxy-based organic-inorganic nanocomposite coatings was investigated by atomic force microscopy, nanoindentation and the Persoz pendulum test. The influence of mechanical properties on the measured surface characteristics is discussed.
Modification of the thermal diffusivity of plasma sprayed tungsten-based coatings
Hofmann, Pavel ; Matějíček, Jiří
This article deals with the modification of thermal conductivity of plasma sprayed tungsten-based coatings. Thermal conductivity is the main limitation for their use in high heat flux applications. Improvements are possible by modifications of the spraying parameters, laser treatment and copper infiltration.
Study of influence of discharge parameters on mechanical properties of plasma treated surfaces
Buršíková, V. ; Zajíčková, L. ; Buršík, Jiří ; Janča, J.
Several different types of intermediate layers between the polycarbonate substrate and the plasma deposited hard SiOx-like protective coating have been studied. By the help of an optimized fracture resistant intermediate multilayer system and hard SiOx-like protective coating the original PC surface hardness was increased by almost two orders of magnitude.
The effect of thermal treatment on the microstructure of plasma sprayed coatings
Matyáš, V. ; Buršík, Jiří
Several types of plasma sprayed protective coatings on Ni-based substrates were studied in the as-deposited state and after long term annealing at 1173 and 1273 K by means of analytical electron microscopy. The microstructure changes were detected and quantified.
Plasma sprayed protective coatings studied by analytical electron microscopy
Matyáš, V. ; Buršík, Jiří
The formation of Al-rich phase dominates the microstructural changes at the interface of plasma sprayed protective coatings on Ni-based substrates during long term annealing at 1173 and 1273 K. Other changes in coating microstructure were detected and quantified by means of analytical electron microscopy.
Properties of surface-treated silica based fillers in coating
Rašková, K. ; Kalendová, A. ; Antoš, P. ; Štengl, Václav ; Kváča, Zdeněk
The paper deals with the properties of fillers nonisometric particle shapes.
Nonisometric pigments in coating for the corrosion protection of metals
Tamchynová, P. ; Kalendová, A. ; Štengl, Václav ; Kváča, Zdeněk
The paper deals with various types of nonisometric pigments and the effect therof on the protection coating materials properties. New type of lamellar pigments is the surface treated mica-muscovite, which forms the proper core or the layer carrier. At the carrier surface a layer of ferric oxide-hematite is formed. The contribution of these lamellar pigments is evaluated from the adhesion-barrier efficiency point of view or, maybe, the anticorrosion efficiency thereof in coating materials.
