The diploma thesis extends the architectural study of the undergraduate project, which was focus on the topic of buildings with a sports content. The aim of this diploma thesis is design of specific stadium for track cycling competitions at the level of Olympic buildings. Design of building also contains the necessary operational and technical background of the construction. The main idea of the project was to create a building providing dignified areas for sports, spectators, multifunctional and, last but not least, a quality and functional architecture. It is also necessary to create club spaces for members of the Favorit Brno cycling club and also for visitors to sport events. The building consists of one main mass of the building, which is divided both, operationally and dispositionally into several units and floors. The main goal of the project was to create a simple velodrome mass that will be able to respond to the fragmented surrounding buildings and also create a comprehensive public space. Interior of the round stadium with a radial floor plan is sophisticatedly divided into tracts, which are served by a system of corridors. The race track itself is then located on the 2nd floor. An important factor of the design was also enough light, which is necessary to get into a large part of the massive building. The rough dimensions of the building are about 120 m in diameter and 21 m in height. The underground floor, which is used primarily for parking, reaches a depth of 3.8 m. The architectural study also includes the use for selected existing buildings, such as the building of the Favorit sports club, that will contains catering operation, important areas with energy of the building, as well as administrative and club premises. It also concentrates bar and VIP areas on the upper floors. The mass of the existing remaining building is incorporated into the proposed mass of the stadium near the main entrance to the building. Peštálová, Lucie ; Dvořák, Miloš (referee) ; Nový, Alois (advisor)
The subject of the diploma thesis is to design a project study and a building program that would become a compromise between the requirements of the city of Brno and BUT in the area of Kraví hora in the Brno city center. The city of Brno would like to transform the area into a public park. But BUT considers it as its "family silver" because they realize its extraordinary value. Options of a constructions are really limited because of many area regulations. My proposal counts on the demolition of all existing buildings in the area, respects property area relations , protection zone, continuity with existing traffic roads, height regulation, imaginary raster of surrounding buildings, slope of terrain and orientation to the cardinal points. My suggest represents a study of five groups of objects which creating a rectangular raster. As a compromise solution, I chose the presentation and promotional areas of the individual faculties of BUT for the content of the buildings. Faculties have spaces for hobby groups for the public comprise all age groups included. I also designed the BUT Museum of History, a multimedia hall, a cafeteria, studios, a student leisure center and an observation tower with a climbing wall.

Valach, Lukáš ; Hrabec, Josef (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Kalousek, Lubor (advisor)
The theme of the bachelor thesis is the proposal of the Café club Bikros Favorit at Hněvkovského street in the Brno-Komárov district. The aim of this work is to create an architectural and urbanistic concept whose function will be of great benefit to the users of the area and the racetrack and to the general public. It is a three-story building with flat roofs. The terrace, which allows access to the starting hill, is covered and walked all over the area. Access to this terrace is also possible outside the ramp, which borders a starting hill from one side. It is created by leaning against the northern wall in a certain part of the building. The building then becomes a part of the racetrack. The whole structure is designed from simple shapes in the form of a block. The flat terrain did not complicate the laying of the building on the land. On the south - west corner there is a café for perfect view and connection to the cycle path. The proposed pre-space responds to the local road and cycle path along the Svratka river. Entrance 1st ground floor can be divided into two parts. The larger are the club spaces, accessible from the east side. From the long central corridor, we have access to bicycle storage, bicycle service, cleaning rooms, women's and girl's cloakroom and sanitary facilities, and four identical dressing rooms and hygiene for men and boys. At the end of the corridor we find stairs. The second part includes a café - coffee & snack bar, accessible from the south. The main area is adjacent to the toilet for visitors (men, women, immobile), a cleaning room and a smaller warehouse. There is also an area of staff and supply - cloakroom and hygiene, garbage storage, food and beverage storage and preparation that is connected to the bar. Individually accessible from the outside are the infirmary and the technical room. 2nd floor offers a club for leisure or social events and meetings. Dance floor as a safe space: interviews with women of Czech club culture
Láska, Timon ; Hroch, Miloš (advisor) ; Turek, Pavel (referee)
The practical bachelor's thesis Dance Floor as a Safe Space: interviews with women in Czech club culture was written as a response to the ongoing debate about safe spaces in club cultures, in which the part of society most affected by the discussion, i.e. women, the queer community and other marginalized groups, rarely get a place to express themselves. The issue is more serious in the context of club cultures and the predominantly specific rave culture because these cultures present themselves as egalitarian cultures without any marginalization based on gender, sex, race, nation, or religion. In addition to gender diversity, the thesis also deals with the issue of safe spaces within club cultures; these two issues are closely and inextricably linked. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces the concepts that relate to the topic from a historical and contemporary context, it deals with the theory of the genre of the journalistic interview, gender and gender stereotyping, safe space, and last but not least club cultures and the rave culture under study. It will also delineate the functioning and differences between the scenes of both cities, Prague and Brno. The practical part of the thesis will present a series of ten interviews with women and non-binary people from the club cultures of Prague...
