Vojtěch SEVERÝN Prague, 2012 ABSTRACT Title: Proposal and implementation of communication plan for charity Auction of ice- hockey jerseys and other original items Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to propose a project of the charity Auction of ice-hockey jerseys and the other original items with focus on the proposal, analysis and evaluation of efficiency of the communication plan. Methods: The whole thesis is designed as a case study. The efficiency of the communication plan is measured on a visits of microsite created for this project and also on a visits of the individual auctions. The yield of the auction is also an indicator of the efficiency. The project and also the implementation of communication activities were held from 7. 5. to 17. 5. 2012, and in the same time the monitoring of attendance was under way. Some indicators are compared to the period before the project started. Results: We found what communication tools were suitable for such a project, what tools were useless, if the timing of communication actions were right or wrong. Based on "behaviour" of the audience we proposed some options for developing of this project. "Role of the media in decision-making about charity to help the needy" This thesis deals with the role of media in decision-making of an individual relating to charitable activities in the Czech society. The theoretical part turns attention to both basic topics, ie, the media and charity. The part concerning the media tries to show the linkage and interaction of media, as means of communication, and society, as the object of their action and influence. It deals with means of communication and subsequent transformation of the society. The thesis does not forget to mention responsibility of the media and the related ethics of media. The part relating to the charity presents output data from realized research on the charity work in the Czech Republic, information on donations and on credibility of organizations providing assistance to the needy. Conclusion of the theoretical part focuses on cooperation of the media and charitable organizations in organizing the most significant charitable events. The practical part is devoted to the survey of public opinion itself through a questionnaire survey. In this investigation, the focus is on whether a person contributes to charity, and what the main impetus for a donation is. Thesis "Christian faith in relation to disabled people" is about the life of the physically or mentally disabled people and their position in society throughout history. Displays a change of view on them, which occurred with the advent of Christianity, when Jesus's miracles of healing and love for your fellow man was a charity activity of the Church and its institutions. The work is also focused on the relationship of people to the Christian faith as a potential resource recovery. Listed are the characteristic species of folk belief, which may change in superstition. Mentioned is the current view of the Church on disability and mental illness from the point of view of Canon law and practice and the role of religious communities in the healing by faith. Parish Social Works in the Czechoslovak Church from 1920 to 1955

STOLETÍ PARISH SOCIAL WORKS IN THE CZECHOSLOVAK CHURCH FROM 1920 - 1955 Autor: Františka Tichá In this work, I pursued the parish social works in the Czechoslovak church from its rise to 1950's. I partially captured an origin of the roots of the Christian church's social works in chapter two. Chapter three describes the rise of the Czechoslovak church and its social works development. The views of some of the Czechoslovak church's theologians on social concerns are captured in chapter four. Chapter five analyzes the social works in three selected parishes. In chapter six, I explained how the Czechoslovak church's teachings were implemented in parishes. Chapter seven discusses the downfall of the social works within the Czechoslovak church after February 1948. In conclusion, I have arrived at an opinion that the social works unions laid out an admirable effort in this field. It is unfortunate that due to the political changes in 1948 the social works unions had to undergo a liquidation.

Activity of the Congregation of Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo in České Budějovice. The lifestory of a black and white flower of the city

The dissertation deals with the historical activities of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo in České Budějovice between the years 1850 - 1956. The thesis is especially based on the study of archival materials. Each chapter comprehensively describes the history of the three branches where the religious Sisters performed their activities. The branches are listed in chronological order of when they were established in the city. A public hospital is mentioned first, followed by an institutional complex of orphanages and schools at the former Vienna gate, and the group is concluded with an asylum for elderly people in need established in 1888. Particular attention is paid to the circumstances concerning the establishment of each branch, its background, ordinary and extraordinary days that were mostly mentioned in local chronicles; and two local superiors who had a major impact on the development and character of the community are also mentioned in the dissertation. Besides the observation of the beginnings and subsequent unprecedented development of community activities within the city frame, the text also includes an independent final chapter focused on events associated with the definitive end after the year 1948. Charity CR, Mission, Activities and Vision in Contemporary Czech Society

Introductory part of my work delimits concept of charity and concepts related to it, the first chapter formulates fundamental theoretical basis of charitable work. Next chapter briefly summarizes changes of charity practice in Czech and European setting from antiquity to the end of twentieth century according to chosen criteria. The aim of the fourth chapter is describing present activity of Charity of the Czech Republic as a provider of social services, the fifth chapter delimits some specifics of charity work in the context of dialogue between theology and social work. Empirical part tries to find out (by the form of semi- structured interviews with directors of professional charities, in the basis of content analysis and by the participating observation), what is the specific character of charitable helping practice that gives to its activity long-term orientation and an unmistakable position at social services market.

TV-Charity in the Czech republic

This thesis is a case study, which is focused on relationships and forms of cooperation between non-profit organizations doing charity, and Czech Television. The main methods of data gathering in this work are semi-structured interviews with selected stakeholders. One respondent from the Czech TV and five representatives of different NGOs participated in the research. According to the theory of agenda-setting and the concept of gate keeping the aim of this study is to find out how NGOs get on the TV screen. Part of this thesis is devoted to the specification of various form of cooperation between Czech television and different non-profit organizations. Also there is an an assessment of the current situation from the perspective of both sides. In the final summary there are the crucial findings and discussion devoted to problematic issues in the cooperation of Czech Television and nonprofit organizations.
