Facial Recognition in Video and its Applications in Law Enforcement
Fabián, Jan ; Šťastná, Dagmar (referee) ; Šedrlová, Magdalena (advisor)
This bachelor thesis aims to describe the facial recognition technology and its use in practice. In recent years, facial recognition technology became a heavily discussed topic, whether in connection with the deployment of this technology in China or due to its general potential for law enforcement. Facial recognition technology is a perfect example of a two-sided coin, as it brings many new possibilities of crime prevention etc. but also has the risk of being used to invade personal privacy. This thesis is based on a literature survey of some of the available resources dealing with this topic. It focuses on the history of this technology, methods used by facial recognition and mentions some examples of the use of video-based facial recognition in practice along with the social risks of the application of this technology.
Audio-visual database for soft biometric and non-biometric traits extraction
Holeksa, David ; Balík, Miroslav (referee) ; Přinosil, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this semester project is to design a suitable database structure for the audio-visual data, parts extracted from the data corresponding to secondary biometric and non-biometric characteristics and description of these characters. The resulting database will be used for research into the identification of audio-visual content of multimedia data.
Simple text-independent voice lock - speaker verification software system
Kotulek, Milan ; Dolenský,, Jan (referee) ; Staněk, Miroslav (advisor)
A brief introduction into biometrics is described in this thesis leading to description and to design a solution of verification system using speech analysis. The designed system provides firstly basic signal processing, then vowel recognition in fluent Czech speech. For each found vowel, observed speech features are calculated. The created GUI application was tested on created speaker database and its efficiency is approximately 54 % for short testing utterances, and approx. 88 % for long testing utterances respectively.
Classifiaction algorithms for face-based identification systems
Hegr, Vojtěch ; Křupka, Aleš (referee) ; Malach, Tobiáš (advisor)
The thesis deals with the research of classification algorithms for face-based identification. The aim is to implement algorithms into an existing system for face recognition and the evaluation of the impect of individual classifiers. According to the survey of face recognition methods the following classifiers were chosen for implementation: K - Nearest Neighbours (K-NN), Support Vector Machines (SVM) and the Neural Networks. These classification algorithms were implemented in C++ (Microsoft Visual Studio 2010) using the open source library OpenCV. Furthermore, the IFaVID database and the methodology used to test the implemented algorithms were introduced.
Attacking biometric hashing via optimization techniques
Mlčáková, Kristýna ; Mokrý, Ondřej (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis deals with biometric hashing, which is a two-factor authentication method that combines a secret key with biometric data in order to create a secure biomeric template for authentication purposes. The thesis first discusses the theoretical aspects of this issue and then focuses on the implementation of this concept. The paper also describes attacks on biometric hashing systems that are subsequently implemented. Practically performed attacks are based on the assumption that the attacker knows the user’s secret key and biohashes stored in the database. Two methods of attacks are applied. These methods are able to reconstruct the biometric data of an authorized user and related biohashes. Methods are based on 1-bit compressive sensing approach. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the effectivity of the attacks on biometric hashing systems and to make a conclusion about the security of such systems.

Archeozoology of the Czech Eneolithic
Kyselý, René ; Horáček, Ivan (advisor) ; Beneš, Jaromír (referee) ; Mlíkovský, Jiří (referee)
This dissertation is a contribution to the understanding of animal history and the relationship between man and animal during the Eneolithic, i.e. spanning the period ca 4500 - 2200 BC. The Eneolithic period differs from the Neolithic in more respects. Traditionally the development of metallurgy (copper) is considered as the primary cause of social economic changes; however Sherratt's theory of a "secondary products revolution" points at the fundamental relevance of a rapid change from the use of primary animal products (meat, skin etc.) to the use of secondary products (milk, wool, labour, mainly yoke) precisely in the period corresponding with the Bohemian Eneolithic. Nevertheless this theory is still being discussed and criticised and, considering possible mosaic nature of the palaeoeconomic situation, it should first be verified at local and regional levels. The author of this thesis analysed in detail ca. 49 500 osteological finds from archaeological settlements in Bohemia, from which ca 13 500 could be zoologically closely determined. Further data were adopted from publications of Czech and Moravian sites (ca. 22 000 finds, from which 11 000 were determinable). This material was subjected to detailed archaeozoological analysis with a unified methodology and techniques covering taphonomy,...

Experiments with Face Thermograms
Kočár, Radek ; Orság, Filip (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
This thesis describes characteristics and usage of face thermograms. First part of thessis introduces historcal development of thermal imaginery. Thesis continues with theory for thermographic measurement techniques, physical theory and methods for face detection, localization and recognition. Last chapter describes experiments with thermograms and possibilities for application of thermography.
