Annotated Translation: chapter in Erving Goffman, Asylums. Anchor Books 1961. P. 15-30.

This bachelor thesis is divided into two major parts: the partial translation of Erving Goffman's book Asylums published in 1961. This book covers the topic of total institutions, inmates living and staff working with them, while also covering the relationship between the two social groups. The translation is followed by a commentary that provides an analysis of the original text based on the model introduced by Christiane Nord. The commentary also contains a description of the chosen translation method and a summary of the major translation problems. Finally it covers translation shifts that occurred during the translation process.

The aim of this thesis is to translate an essay Musician's Magazines in the 1980s: The Creation of a Community and a Consumer Market by Paul Théberge and to comment on the translation. The first part analyses the text, the second part describes the translation method that has been selected, the third part focusses on the translation problems and finally, the fourth part discusses translation shifts. This bachelor's thesis Annotated Translation: La phonétique (J, Vaissière, 2006, Paris, PUF) is composed of two main parts. The first part presents a translation of the selected chapters of the book La phonétique written by Jacqueline Vaissière. The text was translated from the French language into the Czech language. The second part is a commentary consisting of an analysis of the original text and a description of the methods of translation and the most significant problems of translation that occurred during the translation process. Application of French Methods of Text Analysis into the Czech History Teaching

This diploma thesis is focusing on the application of the French text analysis method in history teaching in the Czech Republic. The objective of this thesis is to introduce the French method not only theoretically, but also to create specific lessons based on it. The terminology uses the term method for the translation of the French term méthode. The basis for this thesis is mainly drown from the French history textbooks, the interviews with the teachers and the history lessons in French. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the introduction of history teaching in France, including the textbooks used at both primary and secondary schools. Furthermore, it presents the individual methods of working in history lessons according to the French method. In the practice part, this thesis presents the lessons prepared for history lessons in Czech, which were realized during the school year 2018/2019 at the bilingual section of the Jan Neruda Grammar School in Prague. These lessons were created for the purpose of this work based on the French method or were translated from French history textbooks. Process Automation in Design Sprint

The topic of the thesis is an automation of the processes that are considered an integral part of the Design sprint methodology. The proposed solution is based on the knowledge gained by participating in one of the design sprints at Kentico Software s.r.o. After analyzing the individual processes, the evaluation of customer feedback on the given prototype was chosen for automation. The created JavaScript solution performs text analysis of the feedback to help speed up its processing.

Identifying Entity Types and Attributes Across Languages

The target of this thesis is to analyze articles on the Wikipedia internet encyclopedia and to convert their text written in natural language into a structured database of persons, places and other entities. The essence of the implemented program is the determination of the type of entity based on its typical characteristics, and the extraction of the most important attributes of this entity in the Czech and Slovak languages. The result of this task is a knowledge base allowing simple searching and sorting of information. Thanks to its easy extensibility, it is possible to add identification of other types of entities and other features to the program, as well as a support of other languages.

Three kinds of railway-shortstory: Neruda, Lier, Geislová

The barchelor thesis is focused on the theme of the landscape and its reception during the 19th century by the author and by the reader. We dealt with the experiance, how we gain it and how it changes itself. We also dealt with the fact, that the true nature can not be reproduced and how it always contains our interpretation. We also mentioned, that the author puts his ideas into the landscape and by that the lanscape gains new meaning. We also introduced the development of landscape depiction through individual styles of 19th century. We focused the most on patriotism added into the landscape. Then we wrote about the railroad and about the different views on it in the real world and in the literature. Then we defined the most common motives in the literature. We finished our thesis by analyzing texts by Jan Neruda (Trhani, Kassandra), by Jan Lier (Hop-la!, On the Edge) and by Irma Geisslová (People on Railroad). We analyzed how these authors wrote and how they differed each other.

Extreme Metal from Inside and Outside: What Is Being Masked?

The aim of this diploma thesis is to assess the experience of extreme metal musicians. Using a qualitative approach, 23 texts on the topic of "Why I like metal" were analysed. These reference texts were written by death, black, and thrash metal musicians. Additionaly, an interview and artifacts analysis was conducted. Based on the qualitative approach, 12 categories representing the experience of metal musicians were formulated. However, this view did not correspond with the general notion of extreme metal. Two views, one "from the inside" and another "from the outside" of the metal community, were thus formed. Based on the growing dissonance of these two views, the theoretical concept of hermeneutice of suspicion was applied. Based on this interpretative stratégy, four areas have been identified, in which metal musicians mask metal aggresion, primitiveness, incomprehension and inaccessibility.
