Support for preschool childern with developmental language disorder in education

The bachelor thesis deals with the support of children with developmental language disorder in preschool education. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical parts. The first chapter introduces the theoretical background, it describes the development of speech, language and communication and clarifies these terms. This chapter then focuses on developmental language disorder, its terminology, classification, etiology, symptomatology, diagnosis and therapy. The second chapter discusses the preschool education system, legislation, the goals of early preschool education, and support options. Counseling facilities and support measures are defined and described, with particular attention to the concepts of the individual education plan and the teaching assistant. This chapter also addresses the issues of school maturity, enrolment in compulsory schooling and its deferral. The third chapter presents a qualitative research investigation. Data was collected through analysis of available documents, analysis of activity products and through participant observation. Mobile application for remote therapy of hypokinetic dysarthria

Hypokinetic dysarthria is a motor speech disorder that is a common symptom of Parkinson’s disease. Currently, the 3F test is used in the Czech Republic for the diagnosis of dysarthria, on the basis of which a therapeutic material for dysarthria therapy has been developed. The material contains a large number of exercises from which the clinical speech therapist selects the appropriate exercises for the patient based on the previous diagnosis. Dysarthria tends to be a fluctuating condition, therefore the therapy plan needs to be adapted over time to the patient’s current condition. This is the reason why there is a need for a therapeutic mobile application that would simplify the work of the speech therapist and make the patient’s therapy more comfortable. The goal of this thesis is to design, implement and test such a therapeutic application and web interface that will be used by speech therapists to manage patients’ treatment plans. The result of the work is a functional multiplatform therapeutic application with an administration web interface. The server side of the application is implemented using Django framework in Python and the user interface is implemented using React Native and React frameworks in TypeScript.

Diploma thesis with the topic Speech therapy intervention for children with Down syndrome from the perspective of the parent examines how the parent of a child with Down syndrome perceives speech therapy and what he sees as its greatest essence and benefit. The diploma thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The diploma thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part contains chapters related to the issue of Down syndrome. The theoretical part is devoted to the definition of Down syndrome, the prevalence and history of Down syndrome. The theoretical part further deals with the etiology, describes the forms of Down's syndrome and possible risk factors. It also presents the diagnosis of Down syndrome and the main characteristics, symptoms of Down syndrome. Last but not least, the theoretical part of the diploma thesis deals with physical signs in children with Down syndrome and is also devoted to speech therapy and parents of children with Down syndrome. Speech Therapy Intervention for Bilingual and Multilingual with Speech and Language Disorders

The thesis in the field of special education and speech therapy focuses on the issue of speech therapy intervention for bilingual and multilingual children with impaired communication abilities. The theoretical part characterizes the psychomotor development in intact monolingual children. Additionally, attention is given to bilingualism and multilingualism in relation to the development issues in early childhood and preschool age, as well as interventions for these children with impaired communication abilities. The empirical part employs qualitative research methods. It describes the process of selecting respondents, the methodology of the research survey, and its progress, as well as the characteristics of the research sample. This was consisted of preschool and early school-aged children with communication disorders from bilingual and multilingual backgrounds. Individual case studies of the observed children provide a clear overview of the research sample. Sestem for removal of children speech defects

Speech is one of the basic forms of human communication and disruption of communication ability can negatively affect the life of man. deals with the elaboration of logopedic theory, which serves as a basis for the follow-up design and application creation in the field of speech therapy. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter deals with the history of speech therapy with an emphasis on domestic logopaedia, the logopedic intervention process in its entirety, and the differentiation of individual types of impaired communication skills. The second chapter focuses on a specific disruption of communication skills - dyslalia.The application for the treatment of dyslalia is determined by the application, which is elaborated in the third chapter. The fourth chapter contains a detailed description of the designed and created application, including an explanation of the processes running in the application when the application is being used. The last chapter of this diploma thesis contains a summary of the results of the practical testing of the application together with suggestions for improvement of the application.

Innovative tool for removing bad pronunciation of the letter "R"

The purpose of this final thesis is to find out about Speech Therapy and to design a device which would help with oscillation of human tongue when the sound r is pronounced. To better understand this subject first part of this thesis takes interest in evolution and physiology of human speech. Next the most common articulation disorder Dyslalia is named and methods for treating Dyslalia are described. In practical part the device for Speech Therapy is designed and created. It is based on frequency of human tongue oscillations and it helps to correct difficulties with sound r articulation. This prototype uses electric motor which is controlled by Arduino platform. Its rotational motion is converted to linear through mechanical construction simulating crank mechanism.

Automatic classification of pronunciation of the letter „R“

This diploma thesis deals with automatic clasification of vowel R. Purpose of this thesis is to made program for detection of pronounciation of speech defects at vowel R in children. In thesis are processed parts as speech creation, speech therapy, dyslalia and subsequently speech signal processing and analysis methods. In the last part is designed software for automatic detection of pronounciation of vowel R. For recognition of pronounciation is used algorithm MFCC for extracting features. This features are subsequently classified by neural network to the group of correct or incorrect pronounciation and is evaluated classification success.

Speech therapist's communication with a child

The text deals with the issues of speech therapist's communication with a child of preschool age. The text of the theoretical part of this bachelor thesis discusses the speech therapy as a branch of science, the term of impaired communication ability, dyslalia and its diagnostics, speech development of a child and child directed speech. Against the background of this information, the text of the practical part of the thesis devoted to the analysis of the speech therapist's communication with a child on the basis of the research. The text informs about the general organization of the hours of the speech therapy, which contributes to efficient work with the child. It also describes the different types of exercises and activities that the speech therapist performs with the child during the speech therapy. It emphasizes individual differences between the observed children. The text also seeks to analyze verbal and nonverbal communication of the speech therapist to note the different practices that the speech therapist used for efficient communication with the child. Bakalářská práce se zabývá rozvojem sebevědomí při komunikaci u dětí prvního stupně s narušenou komunikační schopností pomocí arteterapie. V úvodní kapitole je podrobně popsána narušená komunikační schopnost a jaký má vliv na osobnost dítěte. Je zde kladen důraz na sebevědomí v komunikaci u osob s NKS. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje na arteterapii. Popisuje jednotlivé formy, fáze setkání, metody, vymezuje cíle arteterapie a konkrétně arteterapii u osob s NKS. V poslední části je navržen arteterapeutický program cílený na rozvoj sebevědomí při komunikaci. Je rozvržen detailně do deseti setkání a zohledňuje specifické potřeby dítěte. Postupuje dle náročnosti. Hlavním cílem navrženého programu je nejen rozvoj sebevědomí při komunikaci, ale také odreagování a rozvoj fantazie.
