Moravian wine centre Brno
Vojtěšek, Jiří ; Žák, Libor (referee) ; Dýr, Petr (advisor)
The city of Brno has always been a center of Moravian wine. The new draft of wine center responds to this reality and represents the grandeur of wineries in its full glory. Respect for nature, love for traditions and love for order/system are the main aspects of the design. The proposal is essentially open to the public, however, the necessary modesty is preserved. Conversely taciturnity of production part of buliding holds the secrets of the deep traditions of Viticulture and Enology. Designed buildings are used for production, wine storage, administration associated with the production, tasting and selling wine, conferences, accommodation and, finally, wellness and other activities. The size of the building is the result of an optimal design that does not interfere with nearby historical buildings. The emphasis is on minimizing costs both during construction and during operation. Flor plan shape resembling the letter L is oriented towards the west courtyard. This raises a unique viticultural area court with a wide staircase. The amphitheater can be used for seasonal exhibitions, pilgrimages or feast of local entertainment. The yard is connected with the street Hlinky, which paraphrases the historic entrance portals into winecellars. The northern part of the building bites into the ground and connects the original winecellars with new facilities. Small narrow windows reflects the desired taciturnity, just as it was with winecellars in South Moravia for centuries.

The diploma thesis is divided into a theoretical part, a research methodology and an empirical part. In the theoretical part, the development of popular music is described and its genres are introduced. Selected social issues of today are also theoretically explained. Qualitative analyzes and research questions are defined in the research methodology. The empirical part includes two main types of research. In the first phase, a qualitative analysis of the content of musical texts together with a qualitative analysis of foreign media content is used on musical texts from this century. In-depth interviews are conducted in the second phase of the empirical part. In the conclusion, the results of the empirical part are interpreted and summarized. The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out, through qualitative analyzes and research questions, how world celebrities from the field of popular music stand towards selected social issues of the 21st century and what impact their opinions can have on the general public. The Use Of Songs As A Didactic Tool In History Lessons
Reitinger, Tomáš ; Havlůjová, Hana (advisor) ; Kofránková, Václava (referee)
The use of music in the teaching of history brings new possibilities of working with a significant group of musical historical sources as well as modern song interpretations of historical events. This diploma thesis describes the using of songs as a didactic tool and summarizes appropriate ways and methods. Methodologically, the work is based on research using comparison, linguistic analysis and statistics. The thesis aims to summarize the possibilities of using songs in the teaching of history; how to choose appropriate songs and outline examples of what lessons look like using music. Other goals are to outline the possibilities of higher teaching efficiency using modern approaches and to open Czech history teaching to new methods and the overall use of music in history teaching, which are already used abroad. The result of the thesis is the finding that songs clearly contribute to the effectiveness of the teacher's efforts by making them more fun for the students. The fun of the lesson is connected, among other things, to the effectiveness of the teaching, and the teacher's goal is to make the teaching as effective as possible. Another important benefit is the possibility, through well- prepared lessons with songs, to modernize the teaching and apply updated methods to facilitate the achievement...

Song as a tool for learning in children with mental retardation
Brdičková, Anna ; Kmentová, Milena (advisor) ; Daněk, Alois (referee)
The thesis on Song as a tool for learning in children with mental retardation presents a view on the use of songs as a way of acquiring knowledge and skills for preschool and younger school-age children. It introduces the reader to the theoretical background of intellectual disability and gives emphasis to the specifics in learning. The work also defines the differences between special music education, music therapy, and music filetic to avoid the common misconception that often considers all work with music and people with disabilities as music therapy. Based on a literature search, this paper presents the educational potential of song, which lies mainly in the development of the child's cognitive, auditory, speech, orientation, social and emotional skills. The use of songs in creating a positive atmosphere that improves the conditions for learning also appears to be important. The experiences of several kindergarten and primary school teachers who routinely incorporate songs into children's learning are elaborated in the research. The analysis of the songs used focuses in particular on whether the songs are suitable for children and what their educational potential is (what they can develop in children). Furthermore, the thesis presents several foreign songs adapted for the Czech school...

Song divergence of Philippine bulbuls (Pycnonotidae) on islands
Rulfová, Alena ; Policht, Richard (advisor) ; Turčoková, Lucia (referee)
Bulbuls (Pycnonotidae) are a biologically diverse group of songbirds that produce a variety of vocalisations. Their songs are very audible, yet the vocal behaviour of the majority of bulbul species has not been formally described or subject to bioacoustical study. The Philippine bulbul (Ixos philippinus) is a sedentary and endemic species of the Philippine archipelago. This thesis presents the first detailed descriptions of its song. The songs were recorded on five islands locations that covered eight different habitats. Nine song features of these species were compared, in order to understand song variations between different islands. In searching for correlations, habitat types and geographical distances between the islands were also measured. The songs of the species found on five islands were readily split up into three groups based on end frequency, syllable number and song duration. The correlations possibly relate to a late Pleistocene connection between the islands and colonization routes of the species. It was found that song frequency parameters in bulbul species is primarily affected by habitat, whilst the effect of current distances between islands was shown to be weak.
