Restoration of the Renaissance Town Hall in Hostěradice
Kuncová, Daniela ; Mikeš, Stanislav (referee) ; Guzdek, Adam (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor thesis is the restoration of the Renaissance town hall in Hostěradice. The documentation is based on an architectural study processed within the subject BGA036 Restoration of Monuments. The town hall is located in the centre of the square of Hostěradice. It is its dominant feature. It is a very old renaissance building. The town hall is surrounded by a road on the south and west side. The rest of the building is located in the park, which is also subject to restoration. It is a two-storey building with a gable roof. On the north side, the town hall is connected to a newer building. The town hall is currently not in use. The Renaissance town hall probably consists of two Gothic houses, which were later combined into one. The town hall dates back to the 16th century. At the beginning of the 17th century the town hall burnt down as a result of an attack by Swedish troops. At the beginning of the 19th century a granary was built here. Later, a cinema hall was built here, and at the end of the 20th century a bathroom was added. In recent years, the town hall has not been used, but its surroundings have been renovated. The whole of the Town Hall and its current additions will not be significantly affected. The later additions will also be retained, creating a varied spectacle in the courtyard. A lift and spiral staircase is proposed for the interior of the Town Hall. In the northern part of the redeveloped site, an extension in the form of classical houses with gabled roofs is proposed, here there will be space for services and a doctor's flat. The whole development will retain a classic village character.
Commercial center Miris Garden in Croatia
Uherková, Jana ; Vintr, Jan (referee) ; Novák, Petr (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the preparation of project documentation for building permits and documentation for construction implementation, based on the assignment provided in the 3rd year during the winter semester in the subject BGA 032 – Architectural Studio IV. The study focuses on the design of a new commercial center placed in the area of a newly planned holiday resort in Croatia. The addressed plot is located in the Croatian Dalmatia region, near the village of Stari Grad-Paklenica. Currently, the whole area is unused, undeveloped, and overgrown with wild vegetation. The architectural concept aims to create a building that responds to the sloping terrain of the plot and provides its future visitors with a sense and atmosphere of Croatian architecture. This is achieved through the use of stone cladding and wooden shading elements, which are typical materials for this region. The irregularly shaped building consists of two above-ground floors. The first floor is used for dining, commerce, and sports, while the second floor accommodates dining, services, administration, and entertainment. In contrast to the first floor, the second floor is more shallow, creating a walkable terrace from which individual units are accessible. The terrace also features outdoor seating for gastronomic establishments, complemented by wooden pergolas with sliding fabric shading. One of the dominant elements of the complex is the outdoor staircase connecting both floors. It is not only a guiding element but also reveals views of the sea and the setting sun. The design also emphasizes public spaces. In the front area of the commercial center on the northeast side, the space is divided into green islands with seating. These green islands, along with a water feature, complete the square in front of the commercial center facing the sea. The area also includes wooden pergolas with sliding fabric shading, resembling waves of the sea, providing a unique atmosphere.
Commercial center Miris Garden in Croatia
Olšáková, Linda ; Vintr, Jan (referee) ; Novák, Petr (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the creation of project documentation for building permits and parts of the documentation for construction implementation based on a previously developed study within the course BGA032 Architectural Design Studio 4 in the winter semester of the 3rd year, focusing on public buildings. The project theme involves the new construction of a commercial center consisting of five independent two-story structures. The chosen site is located in Croatia, in the village of Starigrad in the Zadar County. The nearby surroundings are undeveloped, and the commercial center is part of a planned vacation resort. The architectural concept aims for the most efficient use of the existing sloping terrain. Therefore, the center is composed of five standalone buildings, partially embedded into the terrain, following its funnel-like shape. Four buildings have a simple cubic shape, while the fifth has an arched ground plan. The intention is to create shopping streets with shop windows of retail spaces and restaurants facing them. The facades, designed with imitation of exposed concrete, incorporate shading using rotating wooden elements and individual fixed wooden panels. Outdoor spaces are protected by adjustable fabric shading. The commercial center houses rentable spaces for retail and services, restaurant areas, an entrance hall with a reception, and private administrative spaces including necessary facilities.
Public Services in the Chosen Municipality
JIRKOVSKÁ, Eliška
In today's society, public services play a crucial role in the daily lives of citizens. These services provide basic infrastructure, care for citizens, and other essential needs necessary for the functioning of society. The ba-chelor's thesis focuses on four specific public services in selected municipalities: education, integrated rescue system units (especially volunteer firefighters), social services, and transportation services. The municipalities were chosen based on size and location to allow for comparison of the situation in the selected areas. The se-lected municipalities are Boršov nad Vltavou, Dubné, and Včelná. The practical part is conducted through a questionnaire survey aimed at obtaining data on the provided public services in these municipalities. Following the questionnaire survey, there is a phase of structured interviews with three mayors, during which the questi-ons and answers from the questionnaire are discussed, and specific issues regarding the selected public servi-ces in the municipalities are debated. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to analyze the situation of selected public services in the chosen municipalities and compare it through a combination of questionnaire surveys and structured interviews with mayors. Furthermore, four hypotheses are formulated to achieve this goal. In conclusion, the hypotheses are either confirmed or refuted. The first hypothesis, that mayors of municipalities are currently addressing capacity issues in primary and nursery schools, is rather not confirmed. The second hypothesis, that if a municipality has established volunteer firefighters, they participate in organizing some events in the municipality, is confirmed. The third hypothesis, that mayors consider expanding social services in the municipality, is confirmed. The fourth hypothesis, that the transportation service is considered sufficient from the mayor's perspective, is rather confirmed.
