Kellerová, Anna ; Kucharská, Anna (advisor) ; Kučerová, Olga (referee)
This master's thesis deals with the demanding responsibilities of studying at a conservatoire and coping with them. The aim of the thesis is to research how students experience their studies, the stress and also how they cope with the stress itself. Conservatoire students are a very specific group of pupils. From an early age they publicly perform, they are being judged, compared and they develop a very unique individual relationship with their teachers. All these circumstances can lead to difficult situations in their life. The theoretical part of the thesis is therefore divided into 4 main chapters. In the first chapter there is a brief description of studying at a conservatoire with a focus on its technicalities. The second chapter examines stress amongst musicians, what causes it, how it emerges, and I also mention stress among young musicians and how it differs from stress experienced by professional musicians in this chapter. The next part brings the reader closer to specific challenging situations in the lives of conservatoire students and the last chapter describes coping strategies that can be used in the lives of musicians. KAPROVÁ, Aneta
This diploma thesis deals with the topic of mental strain at school and its management in relation to self-efficacy of secondary school students. It is divided into two parts - the theoretical and the empirical. The theoretical one presents the issues of mental strain and stress through the basic terms, concepts and theories of psychology. Primarily it focuses on the context of school environment: namely the classification of stressors, sources and modifiers of school stress - that is manifestations and consequences of stress events. Next, it deals with the stress management illustrating coping strategies. Furthermore, the work puts emphasis on personality determinants of perception and coping with mental strain. This theoretical part is concluded by the chapter which describes characteristics of adolescents in relation to taking mental strain. The empirical part aims at the research of mental strain in the secondary school environment that intends to prove the existence of a relationship between the evaluation of mental strain of secondary school students, preferred coping strategies and self-efficacy (general self-efficiency). A partial objective is to explore the relationship of presented variables with other demographic determinants (age, gender, field of study). The intention is to map the occurrence of school stressors in the research set of secondary school students in terms of assessing their incidence and intensity of emotional assessment and to find out whether there is a link between these two aspects (frequency of occurrence and intensity of stress). The research is carried out through a quantitative research strategy. The questionnaire battery includes three questionnaires: Stress Management Strategy (SVF 78), Stress Situation Questionnaire (DSS 47), General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES). The research sample consists of 212 students of secondary technical school. In our research findings, a significant positive relationship between the rate of school stressors and the intensity of perceived mental strain was confirmed. The results showed statistically significant relationships between stress intensity, self-efficacy and preferred coping strategies. The empirical part lists all the results of our research including their discussion and limitations.

Svitáková, Jana ; Hošťálková, Monika (advisor) ; Mrákava, Vlastimil (referee)
General nurses in their proffesion provide nursing care to patients of different age groups. Quite frequently represented group are seniors. This fact is due to the increase in life expectancy, medical advances and polymorbidity of seniors, which is often the cause of their hospitalization. Nursing care for seniors is particularly challenging due to the occurence of many geriatric symptoms, restriction of cognitive functions and inabillity to self care. Much more difficult situation occurs, if the state of geriatric patient requires care in ARO (Department of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation) or ICU (Intensive Care Unit). Identification of problem areas in intensive nursing care for seniors leads to infer the possible measures for practice. In terms of this thesis quantitative research was carried out using a questionnaire survey. Research group consisted of general nurses from departments of intensive care, thus professional intesive care units (ICU) and department of anesthesiology and resuscitation. Out of the total number of 120 distributed questionnaires (100 %) returned 94 usable questionnaires (78,33 %). Realization of research survey was conducted in February 2012. The thesis consists of two parts, the practical and theoretical. The main objective was to map the problem of providing nursing...
