History of the Jizera River in Mladá Boleslav region

The bachelor thesis is focused on the history of the Jizera river until 1880. The Jizera is a medium-sized Czech river. Its springs at the foot of the Jizera Mountains and in Lázně Toušeň flows into the Elbe, to whose basin it belongs. The thesis is devoted only to the section of the Jizera flowing through the district of Mladá Boleslav and deals with the relationship between the river and man in the course of history. In the first part, it examines the influence of the Jizera on the emergence of human settlement and infrastructure in Mladá Boleslav region, or on their subsequent development. It therefore focuses on how the physical-geographic conditions created by the river led to the construction of human settlements, trails, long-distance roads or some technical structures, while one of the chapters also deals with the question of how the Jizera River affected the leisure time of people living near it banks. The second part of the bachelor thesis deals with how human activity influenced or changed the flow of the river. It focuses on certain water works such as weirs, mill drives, dams and weir culverts. The foundational activities of the Markvartic family in North Bohemia in the context of 13th century Central European architecture

My diploma thesis is focused on the foundational activities of the Markvartic family which is one of the most prominent families in Northern Bohemia of its time. In terms of the investigated area and period, the diploma thesis is a continuation of the author's bachelor thesis which was focused on the foundational activities of the House of Wartenberg which had a common ancestor with the Markvartic family. The work's focus is the evaluation of relics of preserved buildings in historical and cultural context, where their original feature was changed by later building measures. Every object will be described and analyzed using secondary literature, material and literary sources. The result of this method will be a short synthesis including the outline buildings stages of objects and their style evaluation. This method will be applied on the background of historical contexts, which represent connections of the Markvartics and royal court and the Cisterciensis, Dominicans and Johanites Order.

Women of Čejetičky. Everyday life of two generations of women living in the mentioned location between the years 1968 and 2000.

This thesis focuses on recording the lived experiences and everyday lives of two generations of women, mothers and daughters, who lived in the city district of Čejetičky in Mladá Boleslav between the years 1968 and 2000. Research conducted using the method of oral history targets mainly the family environment and career prospects of these women, their time in and outside of work and also their general quality of life, as perceived by the narrators themselves. In this way, it gives a voice to women that have been historically and traditionally overlooked. By comparing the stories of two generations of women, we can observe how daughters followed the paths of life set by their mothers and were subjected to the pressures of patriarchal society only some fifty kilometers outside of Prague.

Aerosol size distribution of PAH in urban atmosphere

The aim of the study was to determine the 13 health risk PAHs (phenanthrene, anthracene, fluoranthene, pyrene, benzo(a)anthracene, chrysene, benzo(b)fluoranthene, benzo(k)fluoranthene, benzo(a)pyrene, dibenzo(a,h)anthracene, benzo(g,h,i)perylene, ideno(1,2,3-cd)perylene and coronene; c-PAU highlighted) in the fractions of size-segregated aerosol of the urban air in Ostrava (2012, 2014) and Mlada Boleslav (2013) at low temperatures in winter, and to verify experimentally a sampling artifact, i.e., to quantify PAHs in the gas phase. For the particle size separation high-volume cascade impactor Hi-Vol BGI 900 was used. PAHs were determined by HPLC-FLD/PDA. In Ostrava in 2012 during the winter inversion (up to -25 řC), mean concentration of 13 PAHs in aerosol was 432 ng.m-3 ; in fraction 10 - 1 µm 119 ng.m-3 , 1 - 0,5 µm 185 ng.m-3 , 0,5 - 0,17 µm 91 ng.m-3 , in fraction < 0,17 µm 37 ng.m-3 and in the gaseous phase of min. 40 ng.m-3 . In the most unfavorable day 2. 2. 2012 (-18.6 ř C) reached the 24-hour average of 13 PAHs 890 ng.m-3 , the sum of carcinogenic PAHs 237 ng.m-3 and benzo(a)pyrene 32.3 ng.m-3 . An irregular and different decline of PAHs concentrations after inversion was measured: in fraction 1 - 10 µm 2.8 times, 0.5 - 1 µm 4.2 times, 0.5 - 0.17 µm 4 times and for <0.17 µm up to 7.6 times....

Church of the Brethren in Mladá Boleslav at the time of its creation

In thesis I will focus on the church of the Brethren in Mladá Boleslav. Except the characterization of constructional and historical development of this structure, I will do the analysis of paintings in the interior of this building, where were mostly used ornamental motifs. However, primarily I will devote to the details of decoration of the eastern part of this building for which were used quotations from Scripture. I will compare painting decorations with contemporary prints, which were made by members of the Unity of Brethren. I will focus to some similarities of ornamental and typographic decoration. Further, I will briefly mention the architect of this building - Matteo Borgorelli and his other buidings. Marginally I will also devote to conditions, which the Unity of Brethren had in Mladá Boleslav in 16th century.

Impact of migration on the age structure of the population of Mlada Boleslav in the second half of the 19th century

Main aim of this master thesis is to found out if the migration influenced age structure of population of Mladá Bolesv in second half od 19th century. Data of marages used in this paper are based on register of Mladá Boleslav in set period. The thesis is divided into two parts, first consist of development of Mladá Boleslav city, data source, methods used to analyse said data and basic theories. Second part is focused on the analyzing the structure of population based on age and gender, geografical mobility, occupation and seasonality of marriage. History of vocational education in Mladá Boleslav under the influence of SKODA AUTO a. s.

1 Abstract This Bachelor thesis deals with the history of vocational education in Mlada Boleslav, which was undoubtedly largely influenced by the automaker Skoda Auto. It focuses in particular on the history of the vocational school in Skoda Auto and the establishment of the first private vocational school in the Czech Republic. It also mentions the history of the town Mlada Boleslav and the history of Skoda Auto which are both tightly bound and closely related to the topic. The aim of the work was to map and outline the history of the vocational school in Skoda Auto, of which, unfortunately, not many historical documents survived. Data from particular periods of time trackable in archives and registers are regrettably not continuous, and thus interviews with contemporaries of that time were of a great support to my work.

History of Nursing in Mladá Boleslav Region

v anglickém jazyce This bachelor thesis investigates history of nursing in the region of Mladá Boleslav. The aim of the thesis is to shed the light on the history, development and the current state of nursing in the Mladá Boleslav region. The thesis is written from historical point of view. The thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter 1 describes the nursing care in prehistoric times and documents the prehistoric settlement of Mladá Boleslav. Chapter 2 focuses on the nursing in the Middle Ages and special attention is given to the formation of hospitals in Mladá Boleslav region. Chapter 3 describes the nursing from the period of Enlightment till the end of the First Republic. The chapter focuses on the cholera outbreak, the establishment of the military and district hospital and the psychiatric hospital. Chapter 4 discusses the nursing from the end of the World War II up to the present. The chapter analyzes the development of the district and psychiatric hospitals after the Second World War. Chapter 4 also looks at the establishment and the development of the nursing school in Mladá Boleslav. Chapter 5 puts forward the memories of nurses who worked in Klaudian Hospital in Mladá Boleslav.
