Legalization of space mining from the perspective of utilization of geoeconomic tools on the case of Luxembourg
Kubecová, Tereza ; Doboš, Bohumil (advisor) ; Prášil, Matěj (referee)
This thesis focuses on the legalization of space mining and its impact on Luxembourg's geoeconomic instruments. It analyzes how Luxembourg uses specific geo-economic tools to strengthen its international position and economic independence through the space industry. Due to the growing interest in space mining, and its potential impact on global markets, the work focuses on the legislative, economic and political aspects that affect the implementation of these tools in the Luxembourg context. The main analysis draws on the theoretical framework of geoeconomics, which combines elements of international politics and economics, and applies them to the specific example of Luxembourg. The thesis examines how Luxembourg approaches instruments such as investment policy, trade policy, energy and commodity policy and others, whether it uses them effectively and what their future potential is. The results of this work indicate that Luxembourg is becoming a key player in the space industry due to its progressive legislation and the use of an investment policy instrument that attracts international partners and investors. On the other hand, the use of some instruments by Luxembourg is greatly limited by the fact that these are areas that are exclusively within the competence of the European Union. For example,...

The research focuses only on the territory of the Czech lands (Czech Republic) and Luxembourg; it does not include the current Slovak territory. Individual aspects and factors were determined as follows: the path to Judaism and its formation in two different political regimes; attitude towards the state of Israel; antisemitism. The work seeks to find different comparative parameters for intergenerational analysis of different attitudes towards Israel, influence of antisemitism on post-war Jewish generations and understand the processes involved in the formation and transmission of Czech and...

Bachelor thesis "The change of Luxembourg's foreign policy" focuses on contemporary foreign policy of Luxembourg. The state of flux of Luxembourg's foreign policy is visible from the second half of the twentieth century, occurring at the present time as well. Past far- reaching changes of the world sphere were in the background of prevailing part of changes in external Luxembourg's priorities. The current alteration of Luxembourg's foreign policy illustrates the presented relation as Luxembourg's external priorities adapt to the changing global stage. Luxembourg decided to directly come down to the process of European integration in the time of the beginning of European Community in post-war Europe, which provided the opportunity to become an important European centre. In the present time, Luxembourg's foreign policy concentrates apart from other things on remote world regions of Arabian Peninsula and south- eastern Asia. This bachelor thesis is firstly devoted to illustrate the past approximation of Luxembourg's foreign policy towards Western Europe as well as to present the position of Luxembourg in Europe. Followingly, it depicts the changing orientation of foreign external priorities of Luxembourg associated with the extending of the network of Luxembourg's embassies. Discovered findings of...

Václav Žůrek Comparison of the Use of Historical Motives in the Monarchical Legitimacy in Kingdoms of France and Bohemia in the Late Middle Ages Abstract Concepts of the past are most important parts in the formation of individual and collective identity. Medieval authors deliberately used the historical narratives as a means of enhancing the cohesion of respective social groups, usually the ruling strata of society. The doctoral thesis focuses on re-interpretations and exploitations of the past in France and Bohemia during the 14th century, on the role of historical narratives in the self-representation of the ruling dynasties Luxembourg and Valois, and on the perception of their own role in the history. Main question of the thesis is the social and literary context of the shaping of an imagination of the past: detailed comparison between the Latin and vernacular historiographical production at the royal courts in France and Bohemia bring also crucial observations as to the ways and means of cultural transfer between the respective centres of power.

Title: The Last Princess of Luxembourg. The Life Elizabeth of Görlitz in the Period between Years 1390 - 1425. Abstract: The thesis aims to describe the life of the last princess of the House of Luxembourg, Elisabeth of Görlitz. Based on an analysis of narrative and diplomatic material spanning between 1390 - 1425 it describes her life from birth until the moment she ultimately became a widow. Elisabeth of Görlitz (1390 - 1451) was the granddaughter of the emperor Charles the IV. and the Swedish king Albrecht I. During a significant period she used to be the only heir of the House of Luxembourg and therefore since her childhood she was an important woman from the political point of view. She married Anthony Duke of Brabant after several unsuccessful engagements. This marriage led Elizabeth to the Western Europe, where she spent the rest of her life. Thanks to this marriage, Luxembourg became the property of the newly married couple. After few years Anthony died in one of the most famous battles of Hundred Years' War - The battle of Agincourt. Soon after that, Elizabeth got married for the second time. Her second husband was John III the Pitiless, the former Prince-Bishop of Liège, which was during this time most known for his efforts of acquiring Holland and Zeeland. However, John died a few years after the...
Influence of John IV of Dražice to cultural life in the Czech lands in the first half of the 14th century
Číhová, Kristýna ; Doležalová, Eva (advisor) ; Kubín, Petr (referee)
Influence of John IV of Dražice to cultural life in the Czech lands in the first half of the 14th century John IV of Dražice was already the 27th and also the last bishop of Prague. His work was significantly reflected both in the reform of the ecclesiastical administration of the Prague diocese and in the support of the cultural life of Czech medieval society. John IV of Dražice also entered history as an important founder and initiator of a number of literary and artistic works. His work, however, is in the permanent shadow of the legacy of Arnošt of Pardubice, the first Prague archbishop. Administrative and political activities of John IV of Dražice were sufficiently reflected in scientific literature already, especially in the monograph of prof. Zdeňka Hledíková. Therefore, in my bachelor thesis I want to introduce John IV of Dražice as a founder and maecenas of the Czech and Central European history of the 14th century and to point out its influence in the further historical development of culture in the Czech lands. Keywords John IV of Dražice, Luxembourg, diocese of Prague

v anglickém jazyce The aim of this Master's thesis is to answer the question why Luxembourg contributes more to official development assistance (ODA) than recommended, why it increases its official development assistance to 1% of GNI. The work is based on the hypothesis that Luxembourg, a small state, is trying to increase its status through foreign development cooperation and through its gradual increase in official development assistance. By reaching 0.7% of GNI, Luxembourg is among the other four countries, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands, which have already met this threshold. This group of five countries is the only one that has managed to increase its official development assistance to 1% of GNI and is considered the most generous donor. Luxembourg has averaged 1% of GNI since 2009, reaching number one in recent years, making it the most generous country. Luxembourg achieved 0.7% of GNI for the first time in 2000. In 2009, it reached 1% of GNI for the first time. The timing of the research is limited to these years 2000-2009. The research frameworks of the work are the concept of a small state and the concept of status. The terms used are foreign development cooperation and official development assistance.
