Relaunch of the Brand "Hospodářské noviny" in 2009

In the age of rush development of information technologies and the internet, The Economic Newspaper, a print medium facing decline in general, is trying to stop the rapid rate of decline in newspaper readership and in sold newspaper circulation. Since the newspaper's establishment the planned relaunch has been its most ambitious arrangement that aims to proactively react on free online provided news which you can read or listen to whenever and wherever you want. In my thesis, when using the description method, I focus on relaunch of the newspaper and its brand itself. Starting at reference basis and explaining step by step arrangements that should have helped to refresh the brand and to confront the newspaper decline successfully. Then I continue with brand building process description and media brand building more in detail. In the other chapters I present the relaunch goals and marketing tactics necessary to be implemented for the success of the relaunch. At the end of the thesis the efficiency of the relauch in relation to the readers and advertisers is evaluated. The thesis reader should understand the strategic step of the printed newspaper brand which took a great challenge when trying to succeed in the competition with online media and other newspapers.

This thesis deals with photographs in the printed media among the elections to the lower chamber of the Czech Parliament during 2Q 2006 and 2Q 2010. The main focus is picture of the politicians and the political parties. In the theoretical part of the thesis we sum up the main aspects of the media ahead of the elections and the publishing of photographs. We observe news factors, agenda setting, framing, spiral of silence, technical aspects of photography or manipulation possibilities. The practical part brings the analysis of the photographs in the home news pages of the in the four most-read broadsheet daily newspapers and another daily newspaper that is published by a political party. The analysis sample comprises all issues of the dailies in the period of five weeks ahead of the elections in the years 2006 and 2010. The data were analyzed by means of the quantitative content analysis. For this analysis we used up to 20 parameters. The quantified data were then analyzed by the SPSS and PASW statistical software. Multilevel analysis was also applied. Relaunch of Hospodářské noviny(2009) and Mladá fronta Dnes(2010)-Comparative Analysis

The main aim of this thesis are two Czech nationwide daily newspapers Hospodářské noviny and Mladá fronta Dnes. This thesis focuses on graphics relaunches which these newspapers passed in years 2009 and 2010. It deals with question, how the graphics changes influenced appearance of these newspapers, their content and the position on the media market. This composition responsibly took the opportunity to show the reader in detail, how these newspapers have changed the look of the headlines, elaboration of photos, colors and other graphics components. Along with it the thesis analyses the content changes, such as stylistics or the way of submitting information. Last but not least it gives the comparison of the earning power of these newspapers, position of their publishers Economia and Mafra as well as interviews with publishers representatives.
The Comparison of Picture Coverage in the Czech and Danish Newspaper

This diploma thesis called The Comparision of Picture Coverage in Czech and Danish Newspapers focuses on analysis of press photographs published in the daily newspapers Hospodářské noviny and Politiken during February 2011. The theoretical part deals with topics which are related to visual culture, photojournalism and possibilities of photograph analysis in print media. The research part of the thesis is focused on the picture analysis using a quantitative method and quantitative- qualitative approach which arise from the conception of visual grammar of Gunther Kress and Theo van Leeuwen. The picture analysis of 352 news photographs shows specifics and differences of the Czech and the Danish ways of publishing visual information on title and news coverage pages in newspapers.
Tabloidization in Czech Daily Press - Changes between 1995 - 2010

Diploma thesis "Tabloidization of the Czech Daily Press - Changes between 1995 - 2010" deals with continuous process of changes in Czech daily press. The study focuses on national Czech dailies both quality press and tabloid during the period of 1995 to 2010. It tries to explain different aspects that have brought the changes. The goal of this study is to show the tabloidization characteristics with the defined indicators in the quantitative analysis. Based on analysed data it can be concluded that not all dailies chosen show all features of tabloidization. The results of this investigation also indicated that the Czech dailies mostly tend to increase the number of local news and decrease the number of political news.
Evaluation of the Quality of Universities and their Comparison

Thesis in theoretical research presents a comparison of quality rankings of universities. Compares the international rankings and used criteria. At the national level, the thesis uses at first informative charts, secondly the evaluation which affects universities, such as evaluation of the Accreditation Commission. In the practical part monitors rank of the Faculty of Management in the various rankings, the purpose of these rankings and presents realistic recommendations on how to increase the level of ranking.
Comparison business journalism of Hospodářské noviny, Lidové noviny and Mladá fronta DNES in the beginning of economic crisis in 2008

The aim of the work is to monitor how three significant Czech daily newspapers Hospodářské noviny, Lidové noviny and Mladá fronta DNES deal with the global economic crisis - the most severe economic situation of the last 80 years. It covers the period from 15 September 2008, when the American bank Lehman Brothers went bankrupt, till the end of the year 2008. The economic crisis very often became the news number one and all three journals focused on it for the whole period. The subject filled not only the economic sections of the newspapers but also pages about news from home and news of the world, sport, culture or even fashion. The work uses a statistical method to evaluate principal criteria. It helps to come to a conclusion which of the three daily newspapers was the best at covering the economic crisis in its early stage in 2008.

Práce popisuje marketingovou strategii mezinárodního vydavatelství na českém trhu se zaměřením na ekonomický tisk. První část stručně nastiňuje teoretická východiska marketingové strategie. Druhá pak představuje společnost Verlagsgruppe Handelsblatt a její zahraniční afilace, významný prostor je věnován vydavatelství odborného tisku Economia a profilu Hospodářských novin. Třetí část detailně popisuje a hodnotí marketingové reálie Hospodářských novin, analyzuje postavení na trhu a konkurenci v oblasti celostátních deníků. V této části také autor hodnotí komunikační a kreativní strategii a formuluje vlastní názory a doporučení.

Pracovní inzerce je specifickou oblastí personální práce z mnoha důvodů: je prostředkem komunikace organizace se širokou veřejností, může ovlivnit image organizace, je součástí procesu získávání zaměstnanců. Skládá se z různých doplňujících se činností jako je např. definování správného publika inzerce, napsání inzerátu, výběr správného média, rozvrhnutí dostupných finančních zdrojů a časové naplánování jednotlivých kroků. Zároveň inzerování zahrnuje i papírování, které obsahuje objednávání a monitorování inzerce, účetnictví, evidenci odpovědí a pak také především další komunikaci s uchazeči o pracovní místo.
