The Method and its Disappearance: Analysis between philosophies of social contract and classical sociologies. Résumé: In a doubly disloyal continuity with regard to the French epistemological tradition, largely preoccupied with the formation of scientific concepts, the present work addresses the phenomenon of disappearance of 'analytical' method. Nevertheless, the present work does not constitute an historical investigation: its very goal is to show (within the works of T. Hobbes, J.-J. Rousseau, H. Spencer and E. Durkheim) the variation of the epistemological status of the analysis, and thus to set up the concept of an 'epistemological event'. Examining the disappearance of the analysis requires its identification in the theoretical work whereby its leverage remains unacknowledged. Thus, having the status of a method in the philosophies of the social contract of Hobbes and Rousseau, the analysis 'continues' to structure, in a tacit way, the work of Spencer and Durkheim, both of them founders of scientific sociology. Enlightenment on the Apennine Peninsula Shown on the Example of Cesare Beccaria and Antonio Genovesi

The subject of this bachelor thesis is the Enlightenment on the Apennine Peninsula. Its introductory part focuses on the characteristics of Enlightenment as a movement, it tracks the Enlightenment's beginnings, its development and its essential figures. After this part follows a description of the situation in the eighteenth century and the enlightened reforms that took place in the area of the Apennine Peninsula. In the two subsequent parts the thesis focuses on two particular personages of the Italian Englightenment, Cesare Beccaria and Antonio Genovesi, on their lives, their philosophy and thein main works, and also on the influence that they had on the future generation of reformers.
Slave Narratives as a variation on motivational self-help books

This thesis aims to examine the representative of classic Enlightenment self-help text, Benjamin Franklin's Way to Wealth, and two representatives of the slave narrative genre, Frederick Douglass's and Olaudah Equiano's works, in terms of their possible affinity. The thesis compares and contrasts the individual texts and seeks to find analogies in structure and content which would indicate the influence of the self-help genre in American literature on the narratives and demonstrate the presence of the self-improvement element in the reading of slave narratives. The thesis consists of two key parts, the theoretical introduction onto the issues and practical part which analyses the texts themselves. From Libussa to Wlasta - from Vyšehrad to Děvín. Tale about Libussa and "the Woman's War" in the Literature of the 19th Century

This thesis concentrates on the capturing of the portrayal of the Czech prehistory in the German literature, by the German-speaking authors originating from the Czech countries as well as in the Czech literature. The term 'Czech prehistory' is approached in terms of the Czech tales, with emphasis laid on the character of Princess Libussa (Libuše). The span of the thesis reaches from the Englightenment to the argument about the authenticity of the Rukopis královédvorský (Manuscript from Dvůr Králové) and the Rukopis zelenohorský (Manuscript from Zelená hora) in the 1880s. The thesis is divided into two parts. First, the development trends of the representation of the Czech prehistory are chronologically presented. The literary-historical development is discussed in relation to the changes in the concepts of German and Czech patriotism and nationalism. There is also a focus on the development of poetics and the shifts in the reception of prehistory during the periods of Enlightenment, Romanticism and Biedermeier. The changes in the character of Princess Libussa are compared of the possibilities of literary portrayal of Rübezahl (Krakonoš), the mythical ruler of the Giant Mountains, in literary works claiming allegiance to German or Czech patriotism and nationalism. Rendition of generation problems in three dramatic works (by G. E. Lessing, F. Schiller and W. Hasenclever)

The presented bachelor thesis deals with the literary depiction of generational issues in three dramatic works: Emilia Galotti (1772) by Gotthold Ephraim Lessing, Kabale und Liebe (1784) by Friedrich Schiller and Der Sohn (1914) by Walter Hasenclever. In the first part, I try to approach the literary epochs in which the selected authors worked - the Enlightenment, the Storm and Defiance movement, expressionism, their lives and literary works. Furthermore, I analytically deal with selected works from the point of view of inspiration, connection with the thinking of the appropriate time and the characteristics of individual characters. In the last chapter, I focus on the elements of generational conflict, especially between which characters it occurs. The aim of the work is to interpret the generational conflict in individual works, to compare the ways in which such a conflict occurs in the contemporary social context, in which the authors of different literary epochs resemble or differ and what led them to choose this topic for their dramas. Crime and Punishment in the Eyes of Cesare Beccaria An Analysis of an Enlightenment Penal Law Reform The Ph.D. dissertation is centred around a relatively concise, but extremely influential book: Cesare Beccaria's treatise On Crimes and Punishments (Dei delitti e delle pene). This work, first published in 1764, sums up in a clear, yet intellectually penetrating way all the main Enlightenment principles of a complex penal law reform. In its time, the book was not only of great philosophical importance and it not only changed the way western societies perceived crime and punishment, but it also served as a concrete guideline for various penal law reformers. It is therefore by no means an overstatement to say that it caused a true paradigm shift in both legal and moral philosophy. The main aim of the thesis is to give a legal-philosophical account of Beccaria's thoughts on crime and punishment, to examine their historical as well as moral background and show the actual impact they had on the legislation of many different, mainly European states. Beyond the extent of space and body

After experiencing moments without sight, strong moments of overcoming space and evaluating behaviour on the basis of information received by non-visual options are fixed in the memory. It was the familiar space I went through without seeing it, that showed new values and suddenly I perceived it completely differently. I focused on the materiality of the movement, which described not only its physical boundaries, but also the various sensible stimuli radiating towards my body and senses. This feeling of experiencing space differently, I would compare to feelings of when you re-discover a familiar place from childhood. We already look differently at the long-fixed images of children's eyes and minds, we are even able to compare this perception now. It is not that we did not have good eyesight as children, but we did not realise overall contexts and did not have certain experiences that now help us lead lives in a certain direction. While going through no-sight-experience myself, I found myself in a situation like that. I was like a child who knew a certain space only to a limited extent, in other words a space limited by sight. The initial intuitive assumption that looking at visual impairment not as a disability but as another means of experiencing world became the basis of inspiration for my project. I began to realise the fact that the perception of space in kids, does not only depend on the functioning of the eyesight but also on the functioning of their brain. Depending on where the children grow up, they experience changing states of the surrounding environment, which is related to their emotional, mental and physical development. However, they do not always grow up in an environment that can stimulate cognitive development and help personal, social or education growth. Thus, such a space cannot provide enough different stimuli for a certain purpose, which should help them thinking in and realise the wider context. Between the age of 3-7 years, a child's brain develops very quickly, using play or various spatial experiences. With its plasticity, the brain offers us a large volume of memory space, where almost everything that a child under the age of 7 sees around him, is initially noted down. But what’s really important is what information remains in the memory and won’t disappear. This is precisely that kind of information that has been strongly supported and influenced by various stimuli, which can always be maintained better than the unsubstantiated constant repetition of situations. Here I tried to insert a multisensory experience, which is used by the blind and visually impaired people as a vital need when moving through space and to compensate their eyesight. This experience is strongly connected with emotions, which are the main element of all long-lasting memories and experiences that we remember. That is why it is appropriate to use multisensorialism also in a learning practice, whether this is led by a teacher or through free play. In children that are not visually impaired, multisensory stimuli can support healthy emotional development but also the formation of synapses in the brain. At the same time, I see as a benefit in inter-connecting of these two groups of children, because they can be an inspiration to each other in their differential processing of information from the surrounding environment. The aim of the work is to create an inclusive space for the sighted and sight-impaired. The aim for the space is to support the possibility of obtaining information using multiple stimuli, which are proposed to be designed within the object-functionality and the overall space of the preschool facility.
Commenius', Locke's and Rousseau's Image of Child

The seeds to the contemporary understanding of a child as a unique human being that deserves the highest degree of protection and care, were planted in the 17th and 18th century. The writings of the philosophers J.A.Comenius, John Locke and J.J. Rousseau have significantly contributed to this modern-era "turn toward the child". Using the background of individual scholars' opinions and ideas, the author is studying or noticing in what each of the thinkers sees the basis of uniqueness and irreplaceability of childhood.
